  1. My favorite films will always be the first 2- Days of Thunder and Bond.  I would LOVE to find footage of both full films, especially the Bond film to see what music it used (like if they lifted it straight from the films or not).   7th Portal and Smash Factory were also fun.

  2. At least smooth out the track on par with how KD's runs.  New trains would honestly be a help, especially with less confining leg restraints.

An indoor lighting package and maybe some music in the spaghetti bowl (not sure how the weight would affect things with on-board audio, so I'll accept speakers in the bowl).  Something snazzy to build up the launch would be cool, too.

  3. To me, the 4 across trains keep their speed better than the staggered trains.  I think there may be issues with how the brakes handle that up in speed as well as the momentum they would sustain post-splashdown.  I have Diamondback as my 5th favorite B&M hyper behind Fury, Nitro, Apollo and Bull mostly due to that faster pacing (especially Nitro and Fury).

You just know that some LinkedIN Premium user in Charlotte took their kids to Disney, saw their merch, and said “we should be charging more” without any sense of irony for how poorly comparable the SF product is.

That's partially how pre-merger SIX got in financial trouble in the first place.

  5. I somewhat enjoyed it in its looping form, but I only really tolerated it in the first 2 rows (I despised it post-loop removal).  However, I do feel any good nostalgia I had was dashed once I read the forensics report from the 2006 incident and the terrible work RCCA and Paramount did to build and maintain it.  The original Rattler at SFFT should have raised a TON of red flags for Paramount.  If you look at any larger scale polls on wooden coasters, RCCA designs are constantly at the bottom.  I can't even feel positive about the structure design as it as a whole contributed to all those people being injured.  I look at it with nothing but thoughts of shame and embarrassment now.

  6. So with the way everything timed out, I don't think I'll be going to KK this year, though I really want to go next year to check out the new area and whatever else Herschend has in store next season.

I was also thinking of trying Knoebels and perhaps HP (or Longwood Gardens) in October, that's a mild possibility as I'm not going to have as busy an October as normal, but there's a lot else that may get in the way.   I've been really wanting to try Phoenix and Twister at night.

  7. The only coaster that existed while I've been alive and never rode was Ghoster Coaster due to it looking lame and always having a horrendously long line for what it was.   After that just Sling Shot.  Flight Commander is on that list, but I have 0 memory of it despite walking down Coney Mall many times for my dad to ride Vortex before I was of that height.   I also never went on the tallest slide back when the mat racers were the 4 speed slides.   There also may be a film or 2 I didn't see with the motion seats.

  8. I just realized I forgot the Cleveland portion of the trip.

This was the day before CP and probably the most lax day of the trip as Cleveland is way smaller than Chicago.  I kind of did a speed run of Cleveland in a sense.  The knee was still sore so I took it easy.  Had an inspirational tour of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, kind of a modern music history and pop culture museum combined into one.  Rock is one of the genres that I was raised on and I got to take my time more than the last time I was there with my family.  Also visited the Arcade, the factory of sadness, the Guardians stadium, got to see all the verticality of the bridges which is one of my favorite views of Cleveland, and went to a beach that has a Cleveland sign facing downtown.  Had a Polish boy (or rather, Polish girl) at a place called Mabel's close to the Guardians' and Cavaliers' stadium which is a kielbasa sausage, pulled pork, and coleslaw all put together.  Very good.   I will say the lakefront isn't nearly as good as Chicago, most of an industrialized shoreline on Lake Erie for sure.

Also, the coolest part of the trip happened in the HOF.  There is a section that lets people try out instruments (guitars, basses, drums) and a few more seasoned musicians (don't know if they were friends or it was spontaneous) rocked the heck out of Sweet Home Alabama.  Like, it felt so random, but they performed it so well and with so much passion including a guitar solo that might have partially set the guitar on fire.
