Just imagine next year if the VIP lounge is always packed with nowhere to sit because they sold thousands of the Prestige Passes, imagine if they nix bottled drinks as a cost cutting measure… uhhh… I mean, because people were sharing them with non Prestige Pass holders!, or parking in Preferred is granted to those who get there before 9:30 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. because it will always be full and “subject to availability.”

The park knows what they got themselves into. They have your money. It’s going to tell us a great deal as to how the benefits are interpreted now versus how they’ll be interpreted next year.

And they will open themselves to a lawsuit if they start backpedaling too much. Bait and switch.

These pins are looking nice! So far, I'm interested in the Timberwolf and Racer (sign) pins. I cannot wait until they roll around to the 90's/2000's pins*! :D And was the "Where winter comes alive" slogan on the Winterfest the original tagline? If so, that's a nice touch!

*Also, I wonder how that'll work as the park was owned by Paramount for a large part of the time period

Yes it was the slogan, also it was not owned by Paramount during those years.

Is there a forum specially for current/past associates? My son is working in merch this year and I am curious about some of the staffing procedures. My son gets sent home about every other shift. It’s very frustrating. Yesterday, for example, his dad drove him from his home 30 minutes away. My son worked for an hour and then was told he had to clock out. He  asked to stay but they refused. This happens all the time! He is scheduled to work every day of Labor Day weekend. We won’t make any plans for that weekend since he is scheduled but my guess is he probably won’t work all three scheduled shifts as he will surely be sent home one or all three days. He gets penalized for missing or calling off but they can force him to go home with no notice.  Anyone else had a similar experience or know of other associates who are forced to clock out from scheduled shifts with no notice?

And they wonder why they can't get people to work there.

  4. That's what we thought about Vortex.

I would say this year is it for TW. I think this year was a nostalgic cash grab to milk it one last time before tearing it down. Nothing permanent was added to the venue except for a fence and left over pavers for the “vip” area. Also a little paint here and there. Everything else is portable and can be used elsewhere. I’m glad some got to see a concert there that hadn’t before. Time to clear it out and do an update on Action Zone.

  5. I popped in for a quick visit today earlier this afternoon. The "No signal" TV that was broken at the Flight of Fear exit vignette is back in operation! Which was great to see. The podcast wagon is still not emitting audio. No idea about the station music/light in the meteor because like I said, I was just there for a quick visit. It's great to see that that TV was fixed, I hope the other elements will be repaired soon.

So all you did was come on here to do some passive aggressive complaining? Seems like since you’ve been back from Hershey you’ve done nothing but pick Kings Island apart. Just do us all a favor and keep the complaining to yourself.
    Sincerely,
    Just About Everyone

With the 50th anniversary coming up, we need to update the main pages current remnants page. It has not been updated in some time, and either needs removed or updated. I want this to be the members site, so we will use this thread to allow KIC members to post what they see for this year, and I will update that page on the main site.

For it to be added to the main site's page, please provide a pic of what you see and we will use that as the resource for the new entry. We can also validate old entries or prove them inaccurate at this point. Lets have fun with this!

Might want to update that list. Scratch out #6, #9, and #15

  7. It does seem odd that they are deviating a bit from their previous costing model.  Could be a couple of different reasons:
    • KI is a more valuable asset than the other parks so they are reflecting that in the pricing.
    • Adjusting to cost of living/cost of doing business variations across the communities they have parks in.
    • They sold too many gold passes to KI and are trying the Disney approach (that failed lol) at raising costs to better control attendance.
    • Some other reason or no reason at all.

Or trying to reduce the babysitting they do during the year and help curb the incidents at the park.

  8. Our bags with car key and wallet of cards stolen near the orion ride yesterday night around 9 PM ET. Reported it to lost found but no luck and also filed a police report. Any advice to find the bag ..any such incidents before? Any help here is really appreciated !!!

Usually happens when people are cheap and don’t rent a locker.

  9. And we didn’t ever ride enchanted theater while it was open. But I think a lot of visitors to the park might be in a similar place.

Well, nobody has ever rode enchanted theater. They might have watched a show there, but that was after Enchanted Voyage closed.

Thousands came to Kings Island on July 9th at the Timberwolf Amphitheatre to see classic 80s bands Berlin and A Flock of Seagulls. This summer’s concert series marks the most concerts at Kings Island since 1995, and the first time that park admission is not required to attend a concert. Plus, parking is free after 5:00 p.m.

Next up at the park is 3 Doors Down with Special Guest Candlebox on Friday, July 22. More information and tickets are available on the park’s website at visitkingsisland.com.
