Our team is hard at work making sure your ride on the Hoosier Hurricane is better than ever.

    Ongoing Retracking Efforts:

    • Smoothing sections from the bottom of the first drop to the back turn for a seamless ride.
    • Focused attention under the bridge, where slight profile adjustments are creating smoother transitions.
    • Tackling the final brake run to reduce the noticeable bounce and improve the overall experience!

Our Commitment to Quality: These upgrades are just part of our mission to give YOU an unforgettable and smooth adventure every time. Stay tuned—there’s more to come as we continue to enhance your favorite rides!

We’re on track (literally!) to keep Cornball Express soaring to new heights in 2025! Our team has their hands full with some major improvements to this fan-favorite coaster, ensuring it delivers an even smoother and more thrilling ride experience! Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes:

    Current Upgrades Include:

    • Replacing sections of the lift hill to get you climbing higher than ever!
    • Revamping the first drop for that heart-racing descent you love.
    • Enhancing the final back turn over the lake for a smoother glide.
    • Completing the last segment of the helix, bringing last year’s hard work full circle.
    • Total Retrack: 600ft

I think the coaster itself would be fun, but I'd worry about capacity.  Also, no bright lighting package there.  I think a better spot would be at the front of the park where Invertigo is. Hangtime replaced a boomerang.

I like it as an Invertigo replacement too.

Now I need to know how.....

    Any more tips?

Still cant be as bad as 08 Crypt.

I never greyed out on Cyrpt (any cycle) and that is really rare for me on any coaster, except ... 305.

I get the most grey outs in the afternoons when it is the warmest outside. I am personally not a fan of grey out. A little bit is one thing, but 5 to 10 seconds of grey out (which I get on that coaster) is a little much for me.

Sorry it's been a couple months since this comment, but watching the Knott's Webcam today, it made me wonder why hasn't the chain/industry added more of these Gerstlauer models.

Would think they'd be a hit.

That coster is a lot of fun and is gorgeous at night with its light package.  I would be good with a Mega size one in the Vortex spot.

On the other hand, one post closer to the next rank!!!:P

Quality over quantity is way better for your credibility on KIC.

Then they will ask you to round up for charity (Zimmermans pockets) but not just the $.03, they will ask to round up to an even $100.

I've always wondered if those 'round up' donations customers make at checkout are included in a company's reported charitable contributions for tax purposes.

You might be able to share Don's office by the Royal Fountain on International Street:

    No photo description available.

That's a million dollar office, better than any corner office or Starbux lounge.

(Photo from a thread here on KIC)

I seem to stop by his office when he is not there.

  8. We are now past the holidays of 2024 and firmly into 2025. It is time to reflect on the season we had in 2024 at Kings Island. With the uncertainty of the budget cuts from the 2023 season, most people were apprehensive about what that would bring in the 2024 season at Kings Island. Overall, 2024 was a much better season than how we ended the 2023 season.

2024 was another year for the history books. Well, in our case, the Timeline of Kings Island history page on our main site. Here's a summary of the key events at Kings Island in 2024:

    • On January 24, 2024, Kings Island announced three Planet Snoopy rides would become a part of Camp Snoopy with new names:
      • Race for Your Life Charlie is now Charlie Brown’s Rushing River Log Ride.
      • Flying Ace Aerial Chase is now Woodstock’s Air Rail
      • Woodstock Gliders is now Franklin’s Flyer
    • On May 24, 2024, Kings Island opened Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers and Beagle Scout Acres, a new playground area for younger children.
    • On July 1, 2024, Cedar Fair, L.P. (“Cedar Fair”) and former Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (“Former Six Flags”) merged. Kings Island is now owned by the “Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.”
    • On August 8, 2024, Kings Island announced an expansion to the Soak City Waterpark for 2025. This expansion will include the first water coaster for Kings Island, called RiverRacers, and a new kids' area called Splash River Junction with seven new slides.

Kings Island Central hopes that you had a wonderful 2024 at the park, and we look forward to an even better 2025 season.

Here is a video highlighting all of 2024 at Kings Island as documented by Kings Island Central

I have never seen WWE, so I have no idea what WWE-style theatrics to build up hype looks like.

Speaking of hype, you should have seen the early days of the Cincinnati Cyclones hockey team. Boy, did the team I worked with in the Cyclones front office know how to market and promote. Standing room only crowds at Cincinnati Gardens every game. One of the first things we did in 1990 was reach out to Kings Island and set up a "Skate with the Cyclones" event at Winterfest (spelled with the lowercase f in those days). All of the Cincinnati and Dayton TV and print came out to cover it. It was great working with the Kings Island PR team on that event.

I love hearing stories like this. I wish SIX was able to see the value in these types of partnerships.

Won't be attending for the first time since Coasterstock has been offered. Will be at HWN.

I am doing HWN too. When you are not sure if an event will take place, you make other plans. I hope all that attend have a great time!

  11. The marketing for Good Gravy was amazing. The coaster might as well have been Fury 325 with the excitement they were able to generate around it. Since GG and SSBR are almost identical in layout, the question I would be asking if I were the park is why SSBR would not be right next to Good Gravy? If GG can hit the #1 spot, SSBR should have been #2. GG should have won on the detail of theming, even though I think the ride experience is better on SSBR.

How far could SSBR have gotten up the list if there were a better marketing campaign for it? Over the past few years, it seems CF/SIX has really scaled back on the PR/Marketing of their products. I don't know if that is coming from Charlotte or what, but the lack of marketing is showing big time in polls. If they want to win those #1 titles again, they have to really change their marketing and PR strategy. As someone who wants to see KI win those #1 spots, and who promotes the park as much as the park itself, I want to see them on top a lot more!
