On an unrelated gripe: KI PR hasn't released any kind of statement about Banshee's collision, and I think that is the most aggravating and disheartening move possible in this scenario. People should not be learning about this incident from Reddit--you've got to get ahead of the story! Every single amusement park in the United States is operating in spite of a cultural narrative that they are unsafe and operated by dishonest people who cover up safety incidents to make a dollar. The minute you don't set the record straight and you let social media control the narrative, you lend credence to that idea--and if that idea grows too big, it WILL hurt the industry, and especially the park.

The distance between Carowinds's communication on Fury 325's support crack and Kings Island's communication on the Banshee incidents is staggering. It almost feels like there's a Titanic-like hubris among KI's PR leader(s)...

It seems no one learned anything from the last incident.

The "We know there are pictures and knowledge of the incident online, but there is nothing to see here; move along." attitude  does nothing but tarnish your name and brand as a whole. If they are going to just pretend something didn't happen what else are they hiding? I don't want to feel that way about KI,  I care deeply to see Kings Island and SIX be successful. I volunteer a lot of my own time to promote its success.  I am just as dumbfounded by this action as you.

Edited just to add: By not addressing this, you are slapping everyone in the maintenance department in the face. They work their butts off to keep us safe and give KI a good name in safety.  Failing to support them when it matters most shows them they aren't truly valued.

Has anyone else noticed the new digital signs that have popped up around the park? They seem to be in places that used to have either a park map display (where the interactive map screens used to be) and where the advertising boards were. Specifically, there is one in the calendar date planter and another on the side of the Eiffel Tower near French Corner with others around the park.

Thoughts? Ideas of why the park replaced the physical map boards? I think they're kinda neat because they're new :)

    Yep, even got a photo.

The microscope has no place here and nothing should be taken so seriously that an argument needs to ensue at every turn. Facts will come from the appropriate sources. As for the rest of us, we are just enthusiasts having fun. Afterall, that is the main point of being on these kinds of forums, right?

Agreed, micro analyzing back and fourth takes all the fun out of it. Posts that do just that just rile people up for no reason. Those posts will be removed and offending members issued a warning going forward.

  4. It's the time of year again for pumpkin flavored everything. As the cooler weather moves in, you now have to find where you hid those jackets you put away where you would not forget. Spending more time indoors and enjoying the return of your favorite shows as they come put with new episodes.  This all sounds well and good, but Kings Island fans have another thing on their mind.

    • Spooky Season with Haunt
    • The return of night rides on The Beast
    • The kids enjoying Tricks and Treats
    • Just being back at their favorite escape from reality location

This year Haunt returns with a new scare zone called Hooked. The ghosts of a sunken pirate ship have returned to claim the treasure that is theirs! Dead men tell no tales...but they do want revenge! When the bells toll and the fog rolls in, BEWARE! What you can't see can't hurt you...but it can kill you!

Haunt runs select nights from September 20 - November 2.  Park calendar: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/calendar-and-hours

Your little ones can enjoy Tricks and Treats on Saturdays & Sundays, September 22 - November 3, 2024

Waiting in line for Mystic Timbers:

Random guest to me "I hear a rumor that they are taking Son of Beasts old wooden loop and putting it in the middle of Mystic Timbers."

    My reaction:

These things that guests say...

    The best part "wooden loop".

I don’t know what their reasoning is for getting rid of them. It makes it so much easier for both sides of the transaction.

It was very evident at the Wine Fest and Grand Carnivale that was a very bad decision.

I’m a bit surprised that even after investing in Camp Snoopy that KI’s ranking for Best Kids Area dropped to 3

As much as it hurts to say I can't disagree with it's drop. We do have a great kids area, but you also have to convince people why it's the best kids area.  That's why there are marketing and comms departments. I realize some is controlled by Charlotte, but still.

There was no price on the sign.

I thought that was weird too.

I was talking to Mike and some of the other gold tags after I had the chefs plate. I will share what I told them. "It was the best chefs plate I had ever had."

Perfect portion size. The meat was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The potato cakes were very flavorful. The carrots were well cooked.
