  1. I like the hammer-of-strength (not sure what its real name is) game, just because of the bright, flashy lights and "theramin"-sounding sound effects. It's just neato.

Have you ever seen anyone win that game? We passed by on numerous occasions and even some of the most muscular people couldn't win! The average score seemed to be between 70-80 points no matter who played.

My father-in-law has won it before. He is not a muscle man either, he just stated you have to hit it in the right spot? I have no experience for I have expressed my feelings on the games before and will leave it at that. :)

  2. Ill be there to get at lteast one Diamondback ride in. After that who knows. I am going to try and make it the Saturday after also. Hopefully Ill be able to get the park lots more times this year with gas prices so low. Last year it was hard getting there @ $4.oo. My what a year can change.

Yes, we are getting quite spoiled with the gas prices right now. I really hope they stay quite low through the summer. I know it slowed me down on making the 2 hr drive over last summer.

  3. What possible satisfaction is there in having the most posts during a certain day? IMO, if someone has something constructive or funny (or even mildly amusing) to add to a discussion, then, by all means, they should post it, but if posts are one word or off the topic or are simply designed to add to someone's numbers, then there is no point in posting. In other words, this isn't a posting contest.

--Beatle, stepping down from his soapbox now... :)

I will say though, it is fun when you hit a certain number of posts like for me 50, 100, and 200. Lot's of people comment about that all the time, but I don't intentionally post to add to my post count, it is just cool when you see it up there. I do not care however how many posts per day.

  4. click on the picture, and look a little closer, it's definatley a light as far as I can tell. If you look close enough you can see a black pole on it, instead of one matching the roof. I think the "pole matching the roof" is an optical illusion.

I think you are right, it looks like a cardinal sitting on top of it or somthing that made it looks like it was part of the building..

  5. That would be a lamp post, like the ones closer to the foreground of the picture. ;)

Could be a light, but the other one is black and lit. They other matches the building and does not seem lit to me? I could be wrong?

  6. It's just a idea, but since it's not that tall, they should enclose the entire ride, air-condition it, and add all the theaming they want - including blsck lights and glow in the dark things - but keep it as dark inside as possible so you REALLY don'tknow where you're going. Otherwise, it's just another mine train coaster - the best one ever built - that needs restoration and half of the effects are never working properly anyway

Then, every so often, you could completely change the theaming for a totally "new adenture"

Do you know how expensive that would be? Not only to enclose the entire ride, but then to do extensive themeing? Also, to change the theming "every so often" would cost a lot just in doing that!

Yes, but I believe Hank was just throwing ideas out, not necessarily being practical.

  7. Is this structure in the background with the dark red roof new? Perhaps the new entrance actually takes you around the right side of the old drink stand? Diamondback%20040109%20006.jpg

That red roof is not new. I'm looking forward to the new entrance too!!!

    100_0082.jpg

But just look at that wood, ya its all new. Which means it was redone in some shape or form.

It also has like a school bell housing or something on the new pic that the older one does not, making it seem like a new structure?

EDIT: Fake doors and balcony are gone as well?

  8. I think technology is available to enhance the sound effects a bit (Bose?)... plus I can imagine using the newer LED technologies for the lava 'monster?' on lift 2. I hope they never get rid of the Indiana Jones music at the station, it's perfect!

I don't know why, but I've never noticed the Indiana Jones music. Is it played all day every day?

Is in not played on lift 2?

  9. I was just looking at various weather reports and Accu Weather looks really far ahead to April 18 and they are saying Morning Showers and Cloudy a high of 66. Will this be true mostly not it will change a bit closer to the date but right not it don't sound too bad of a day what do you think ?

I almost always check the forecast before making the 120 mile trip with the Cinci TV websites. In the 12 hours in advace before I go the forecast sometimers changes.... I say lets wait till we get about a day or 2 out, then we can get a better assesment of the weather situation.

  10. Just based on the renderings from the website, I'm guessing the restraints will be similar to MForce and TTD at CP. Based on your avatar my estimate would be that you'll be OK.

The restraints are actually nothing like those of MF and TTD. They are called clam shells and allow a lot more freedom.

Well maybe the clicks start out further than other restaints so 3 clicks will only be like 2 clicks on others?? Trying to think positive for you!

  11. Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. Last summer was my first time visiting KI. I hadn't been on a ride in over a decade. So first thing in the morning Drop Tower and Son of Beast scared the bejesus out of me. After that I was scared on every ride and even refused to ride some, though I did enjoy Flight of Fear and AE. Finally toward the end of the day my wife talked me into getting on Vortex. Here's how she did it. She asked me to just walk over to the ride, look at it, and think about it for a while. I did that and it only made my fears worse. But then she said, "look at those LITTLE KIDS riding that ride! Those little kids are more brave than a big tough guy like you??" I rode Vortex (in order to keep my last shred of dignity) and I loved it so much that I got right back in line. Went back to KI two more times last season (rode everything), already bought gold passes for 2009, and have spent the off season staring at the DB webcam and reading the KIC forums. All thanks to that one ride on Vortex. So yeah, if all else fails try attacking her ego haha. worked for me!

With the track freshly painted, and a new coaster for this year, I bet you are really excited!

  12. You do not want us to except you (which means to put you out). You want us to accept you, which is a different thing entirely.

    Terpy, tryin' to help

i know the words and meanings its just the spellin i usually get ejected first in a spellin bee i mean who here doesnt spell dawg<D.A.W.G.>by the way im local now no longer a noob can i get a woop woop

I think Terpy wants to make sure someone does not miss interpret what you are trying to say. I know we are not writing English essays, but you want to be able to get your message across clearly. Lord knows I make mistakes on here all the time! No one expects you to be perfect. :)

  13. No, my weight loss was totally unrelated to coasters or even a conscious decision on my part..it started due to a very stressful life event no one wants to go through. A month later I realized I had lost weight while another nearby relative had gained weight, both following that event. Then and only then I decided to continue consciously with what had happened subconsciously. It had absolutely nothing to do with coasters. Also, the only coasters I ever didn't fit were Superman: Ultimate Flight at Six Flags Over Georgia (yes, on media day...no, it didn't sway me to do anything and Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great America. Somehow I made it on to Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force even at my largest...as I lost weight, I each year barely fit the rides as the size that could fit each gradually got smaller and smaller. Now, that is no longer an issue, as I can ride Beast (though I'd rather not) with the orange bar ALL the way down. It's been quite the ride, and I am not done with it yet, though I am no longer obese, and only barely overweight according to the medical tables.

Congrats on the weight loss.. Let me know when you are at the park so you can show me your better eating habits, that I proabbly need to pick up within the next few years.
