  1. Just had another dream, Kings Island was located in the middle of a running track. I was at track practice and had to miss the first riders' tour of Diamondback before the rides due to my coach making me run. Then, I told him I had to go but it would only be about three minutes because that's how long the ride took. I rode Diamondback and it was a huge let down, but I was in denial because I bid $111.11 for the first riders so I kept saying "It would have been better it's just that my eyes were closed." then I woke up.

It sounds like you are worried track practice is going to interfere with your KI time?

  2. For now though, it will praobbly get a new game that you win a blown up basetball that everyone wants to bounce while wating in the queue lines!

As annoyed as I am about the installation of 3-point shootout where the Flying Eagles were, you have to admit, that game is a massive money maker for the park. $10 a pop and a small percentage of people who play it actually win anything, let alone one of the 'top' prizes (a jersey that you could probably buy off-site for $10). I still find it amazing how many people waste their money on that game, because you have to be pretty good to be able to win.

I agree there is always a crowd there and probably makes a lot of money. I know I always stop for a few minutes at that game when walking by to see how the person is doing, and I never play those games. I am there for the rides not games. I can do that at home which is 120 miles away.

It just bugs me when you are standing in the queue line like "The Beast" for instance, where there is a wood floor and someone is bouncing a basketball in there. Maybe I am getting to old and set in my ways?

  3. I had another DB dream. It was to be April 18th, and DB was not located in Rivertown at all, and it didn't look like KI either? I was in the queue for awhile and finally got on. When we took off the ride was great on the first hill, then after that it got all weird. The ride sort of turned into Avatar. We would go back and fourth on that style of track like 2 times and then then go to another set of track that had different sized hills. There were like four of these Avatar tracks that we went on before returning to the station. They were fun, but not thrilling. Everyone got off the ride and said it was not what they expected?

  4. And remember how Vortex looked before it got its fresh new paint job in 2002? It looked far worse than what Flight Deck currently looks. The dark blue supports were almost a light gray in some areas because they had faded so much.

Was it really 2002? Dosen't seem that long ago!

  5. That is great. Vortex was my first real coaster, and to this day I still find it to be an enjoyable ride.

I remember in October during haunt they were painting the train storage area roof as you started up the stairs, but did not think they would repaint the whole track this year for it just got painted like 2 to 3 years back did it not?

Edit: I might be thinking of the supports not the track?

  6. KIC couldn't begin to afford what it costs to rent the park for a day. And some company outings are busier than most normal weekdays.

Was a nice thought though. I guess we will take the free (for those of us with passes) Ride Warrior's weekend!!

  7. Contrary to what you said, I thought the pictures were very good. I especially enjoyed the pictures of Drop Tower and Eiffel Tower at sunset. I'm going to save them, if that's okay with you.

I loved the DB splashdown pics. I hope some grass grows back in soon, that will make DB look really nice!

  8. Time is passing now crazy fast!! And between finishing my tax filings (owning an LLC is fun, kids!), work being crazy busy (thanks crappy economy for laying off half my d*mn dept!), and family coming in for Easter...before I even blink next I'll be in KI's parking lot April 18th!

If I could seriously put the brakes on time now I would!! But wow...550+ days just like that gone by!! (since the 07 land clearing and First Drop article) That's some crazy sh#@!! :o

Yes, it has gone fast. I just hope the summer does not go so fast that I don't make it to the park as much as I want. See ya in a few weeks!

  9. ^^Your answer can be found in this video of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade this year:

I was watching the parade with my mother when this happened. I got up and was flipping out because of how funny I thought it was. Then I had to explain to my mother what a "Rick Roll" was.

What happened to the red hair? I thought it was a gag not the real Alfred.

  10. Good Pictures! But I have to disagree with you about Lucas Oiler Stadium, the stadium is beautiful, and one of the nicest stadiums in the NFL, Plus ask almost any Indianapolis native and ask if it was a waste of tax payer money, most would say it's not. People in Indy take pride in there football and they wanted something new and fresh, and thats exactly what they got. How in the world is Lucas Oiler Stadium more ugly then the RCA dome? It's the ugliest building I have possibly ever seen.

That is weird, LOS being a waist to taxpayers is all I hear about. Most conversation and what the news reports are "We just tore down the RCA Dome, and we are still paying on it. It went over budget, we did not need a new building." I also hear they are having issues with upkeep and renting it out. All I hear is the negatives? I will say though it is a nice looking building and it put the RCA Dome to shame, but it is gone now.
