Although, have you ever been gone? Back on topic though, I think they would have only replaced restrains that need replacing. So I would say there might be a few more new ones, but not all of them.

Time is passing now crazy fast!! And between finishing my tax filings (owning an LLC is fun, kids!), work being crazy busy (thanks crappy economy for laying off half my d*mn dept!), and family coming in for Easter...before I even blink next I'll be in KI's parking lot April 18th!
If I could seriously put the brakes on time now I would!! But wow...550+ days just like that gone by!! (since the 07 land clearing and First Drop article) That's some crazy sh#@!!
Yes, it has gone fast. I just hope the summer does not go so fast that I don't make it to the park as much as I want. See ya in a few weeks!

I was watching the parade with my mother when this happened. I got up and was flipping out because of how funny I thought it was. Then I had to explain to my mother what a "Rick Roll" was.
What happened to the red hair? I thought it was a gag not the real Alfred.

Good Pictures! But I have to disagree with you about Lucas Oiler Stadium, the stadium is beautiful, and one of the nicest stadiums in the NFL, Plus ask almost any Indianapolis native and ask if it was a waste of tax payer money, most would say it's not. People in Indy take pride in there football and they wanted something new and fresh, and thats exactly what they got. How in the world is Lucas Oiler Stadium more ugly then the RCA dome? It's the ugliest building I have possibly ever seen.
That is weird, LOS being a waist to taxpayers is all I hear about. Most conversation and what the news reports are "We just tore down the RCA Dome, and we are still paying on it. It went over budget, we did not need a new building." I also hear they are having issues with upkeep and renting it out. All I hear is the negatives? I will say though it is a nice looking building and it put the RCA Dome to shame, but it is gone now.

I bet they will plant some trees. The off ride rendering videos show a lot of trees as you ride. Just will take another 5 to 10 years for them to be as big as they are in the video.

I had a KI dream the other night. The park was not very busy and a lot of the rides had no operator. Drop Tower was called Drop Tower, but was like Double Shot at Indiana Beach except it was totally red. There were no ride attendants at DT and my buddy and I were looking at how it worked. There was no one else around and we were then standing in the seat looking behind them to see what was on the other side of the seats. The ride came on by itself and we were taken up and dropped with us standing in the seats with no restraints. Neither one of us fell out of DT nor were we hurt. Park security saw it and thought we started the ride ourselves. I was explaining what happened when the dream ended? What do you make of that?

Ground was broken (and construction started) on June 15th, 1970. The park officially opened on April 29th, 1972. The cost of the original park came in at $29.5 million. Incidentally, Diamondback cost almost as much as the park originally cost to build, coming in at $22 million!
Definitely a tremendous find as I said earlier!
It would be cool to know the cost comparison for today on the same exact construction work.

i've never used sun block on my lips hah. I didnt think id get a burn, but after coming home i did get red on my shoulders.
The sun blocker chap stick seems to work well. I have not had the issue since? I forget to put any on most of the time. Although, it was like the 4th day of spending 4 to 5 hours in the water when it happened.

Definitely different construction safety laws in place nowadays! Wow for the Eiffel Tower builders! Fearless! I would have imagined they'd have safety lines & carabiners. Nope. Just walking around like there's no 250' drop to either side. Amazing!
I know!!! when I saw them just walking around my stomach did flips..I was thinking to myself...HA! FORGET THAT...I know I wouldnt be able to do something like that...Im afraid of heights too much to do something that brave..
I hope they got hazard pay for that!! I wonder if their life insurance got automatically canceled or tripled in price?

Can you take baby strollers on the train that goes from the rides to the water park?
I think I have seen people fold them up and place them in the bigger sections near the front and back of a car. I have never done it though.

Yeah, looks like 2 trains. The sun is making it hard to see inside the storage area, but I definitely see 2 on the track.

Thanks for sharing. The last time I was there I spent so much time in the water and did not sun screen my bottom lip, and it swelled up about 3 times the size the next morning. Hurt a lot and spend most of the day holding ice on it... Make sure you don't forget to sun screen your lips as well. I know you would not think they would get burned, but I learned the hard way.

Hi everyone! I have been reading on this site since about last July and I figured I would go ahead and register. I usually spend about an hour, sometimes more or less, per day on here. Usually I am catching up on what happened with Diamondback while I was at school.

Um...my sister just called me and said she saw Drop Tower testing. Could this be true?
Well seeing as that the park opens in just a bit more than a month, I can bet on it that they're testing ALL of their rides. Not all the attention goes to the new coaster lol.

While test runs on Diamondback continue, other rides in the park are awakening from a long winter's nap.
The trains have been placed on the tracks of several of the park's coasters and initial testing has begun on rides such as Drop Tower.
