This change begs the question if you counted Surf Dog as a credit, does it still count as a credit because it was classified as a roller coaster by Kings Island when you rode it?
Never counted it as a coaster in the first place. What about you?

Delaying the release of an events calendar until just before opening day is a missed strategic opportunity. By that point, many guests have already mapped out their 2026 travel plans around parks that announced their events months in advance. In a market where consumers are making decisions earlier than ever, waiting to communicate key dates means risking that Kings Island gets left out of the consideration set entirely. It’s not about timing. It’s about mindshare, trip planning influence, and ultimately attendance from guests who may have chosen differently if they’d had the information sooner.
You would think a company that is struggling with debt would be be using every lifeline that they could imagine to bring in more customers.

Now if they could only add tent sites (somewhere) that are not more expensive that the Quality Inn rooms across the street.

I've seen this POV of Phantom Theater quite a bit on YouTube however my latest review I noticed that someone lost his head. 🫠
I hope everyone in the new PT:ON ride has their head in time for opening day ! 😅
Heads are rolling already?

So the courts already sided with sesame street once. Probably not looking good for SeaWorld with this new filing.

Are you expecting more sales?

I bet GWL would fight that being built until the doors open to customers, but I really like the concept.

I can respect the 90/10. Knowing it needed updated, why not let the show steer the decision a bit. A totally different experience would most likely (totally assuming) cost more money than brining back the PT characters.

So it was a test all along! Hahaha!
I disagree. I think it was a historical move for the 50th and then they realized there was still interest in the characters and story. Why not capitalize on what you already created when you know it is popular with guests instead of starting from scratch.

If Food and Wine is coming back I would like to see KI follow suit and move Food and Wine to a few weeks earlier and have it run from like the last weekend of April through Memorial Day as that makes the most sense to hold it imo
Maybe with the new CEO, we will see the return of the tasting cards? Thinking positive here.

I am on the payment plan. I highly doubt there will be an adjustment to my payment. I am not sure I care about getting Prestige for free?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't see KI getting 2 new major coasters in the front and back within 3-5 years of each other.
You are probably right, but with a new CEO, we might see some unpredictable changes?

Paywall for me, is it for additional rooms or a waterpark expansion?

There is a 126 acre nature based theme park being built near Indianapolis, they broke ground last year, called SkyLake Adventures theme park (added Adventures part to their name on Facebook a few months ago) and they’re opening this year in phase one. It will be in Sheridan which is close to 45 minutes north of Indianapolis. It won’t be as big as Kings Island, Cedar Point or even Dorney, but it will be something to do in the area that is different than your normal theme or amusement park.
https://www.visitskylake.comThis one might actually take off, but not sure about any big rides to compete with even Indiana Beach at minimum.

I love it when these old threads reappear in the feed. 12 years later!

The database that needed to up was upgraded was done this weekend by @malem . 🥳
With that announcement, let's make sure our forums are not a threads of emoji codes by using emojis sparingly. 😁
Thanks for your help on behalf of the KIC Admin. 🙂

As little credit the current social media team might get/deserve I do believe they can make some nice posts from time to time.
Is this in reference to the Kings Island social or the KIC social?

I wish Christopher the best in his new role. He was always nice to me when I spoke to him at the park.

2026 Kings Con
in Kings Island
Posted
I have tried a few times to have a KIC event at the park. When the price comes back, I just couldn't justify charging KIC members the amount it would take just to break even for the event. Plus, getting the minimum people to pay for the event I did not think was achievable with the cost. That was just just for 1 ride with ERT and 1 meal for the day and no guarantee the guest speak would be there. It's just not practical any more. I understand ACEs frustration.
