Final ride of the Season (Winterfest excluded)
Creed Bratton replied to Gannersdaddy's topic in KI Polls
I think I'd like to end the season on Diamondback. -
Ellie, While we may not be invited to coaster mania, many members who attend Holliwood Nights find it superior to Coastermania. I was extremely disappointed in that event the last time I went. Please feel free to message me for more information or if you have any questions!

On the topic of the train, I wish there was more seating on the platform and/or the area was expanded a bit....it's a bit cramped. More seating would be nice but not necessarily.

Coaster Crew is affordable, $25 for the first membership, with adding an additional person in your family for $10. Memberships are valid for park held events such as Holiwood Nights at Holiday World and CoasterStock at Kings Island. Each year we have various discounts around the country for different parks, attractions, etc. Coaster Crew is one of the most inclusive groups I've seen and been a part of. If you decide not to go with Coaster Crew, I would suggest GOCC. If you have any other questions about Coaster Crew, feel free to PM me.

Will Coney be getting anything new for 2018? Not sure if I missed it or not.

I would love another restaurant with inside seating. It'd be nice to be able to get out of the elements for meals and for a quick break.

https://www.cedarpoint.com/blog/a-few-changes-to-discuss It seems as if Sandcastle Suites and the All Wheels Extreme Stadium are being reduced to rubble. The All Wheels Extreme Stadium is part of the expanding the beach boardwalk (and to be honest it was ugly lol). Sandcastle Suites in my observations didn't have a lot of folks staying there and from what I have heard it's been a crappy hotel with bad reviews including dirty rooms, pools not kept up well, etc.

My brother in law's mom is a manager at our local Target and she told us that because where the seasonal section is in the store if they don't put lights there (that have already arrived) the section would set empty as they don't receive enough other seasonal product to stock those shelves during this time frame. If they left the shelves empty...there wouldn't be $$ coming in for that area because folks have already been buying the lights.

I agree!

I don't think Patrick is too happy with it I like it! When I get my next one...it'll be something of Diamondback I'm sure since it's where I started working.

Didn’t you at one point claim that there were gas lines being placed over the summer from Tower Gardens to this area? Even if if there aren’t gas lines, there are ways to have a kitchen without gas lines. Aka electric.

To be honest, knowing the moderators pretty well, they don't really get any perks. Any perks they get pretty much are they get to do interviews with park officials, media day (dependent on how the event is ran) and they may get invited to the announcements for new attractions. A wise member who is missed dearly used to say something to the affect: those who know don't say anything, those who don't know say anything or say something to allude to the fact that they know something, which 99% of the time, they don't.

A wild rumor got started somehow, made it to Screamscape and people are taking that and the other rumors they hear for gospel. Cedar Point's antique cars (both sets) generally have good ridership. I haven't seen a recent install of antique cars and highly doubt we'll see a new install anytime soon.

^^ So you mean yourself? Wow.....
-
@Ellie I cannot agree with you more. I love the Justice League rides and they are way too much fun! I'd also love a tilt a whirl. They're one of my absolute favorite flat rides.
-
Dude....let's get real....these footings are for Winterfest and Winterfest only. They are not for light poles for antique cars. Stop drinking the Screamscape koolaid.
-
I'll take the AirRace!
-
I'd like to see it back for personal reasons..but it wouldn't be very practical to bring it back as it was.

So how is that Skywarp construction going? Anyone catch that news story that confirmed it? Yeah, me neither. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Making the Case for Outsourcing Cedar Fair’s Food and Beverages
Creed Bratton replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
I'd say absolutely not to Aramark and Sodexo.....they do well in those places...but because those really are the only choices.....I've worked for Sodexo and have had the quality of both....not great....not worth the $ spent on it. -
Making the Case for Outsourcing Cedar Fair’s Food and Beverages
Creed Bratton replied to Oldschool75's topic in Kings Island
My issue with the Kiosks is if you have the unlimited drink plan, you still have to go to a register to get your drink. It's insane....walking into Coasters at Cedar Point, the associate standing there to help asks me to scan my pass, pick my meal and then asks if I want a drink. I then say that I have the drink plan...to which they say go to the cash register....I either have to wait in a line of cash payers for my drink, have to wait for someone to staff the register (or get their attention) while my food has already been brought to the counter for pick up. I would still think Outsourced companies would have some sort of management there as well..but I agree...I'd be afraid of the "well __ isn't a Cedar Fair owned food stand...you'll need to contact them for complaints." I like food trucks...but at the same time...I dislike that I can't use my Dining Plan at them. The only thing I dislike about the Foodtrucks in the parks is that it clogs up midways....at one point at Cedar Point, they had like 12 or so Food trucks on the main midway by Cedar Downs and the Main Arcade...literally taking 1/2 of each side of the midway...which led to congestion. I partially think the unacceptable customer service aspect with food stands could improve with better working environments....how many of the stands are mainly outside? How many of them have keep the associates behind screens? How many of the stands have minimal room for associates to move? How many of the stands are complicated when it comes to taking orders and passing out orders (I'm looking at you Chick Fil-A). I don't know...just some things I perceive. -
One way to fix it, is to completely gut and update the ride as well as the experience including the queue. I personally believe, it's time to go...they could really use an updated dark ride there.
-
I think The Beast needs it....as the lines can get pretty long, moving back and forth in the switchbacks get kind of boring. The queue house closest to the FunPix booth doesn't have one....but the other areas have FunTV and those are where I get tired of waiting and look for some kind of entertainment...... Different strokes for different folks I guess. I will agree.....Boo Blasters doesn't need it....however, I'll say, there needs to be just a little more light in there....it's almost too dark to walk through. It is gone for sure, has been for a couple of years...I want to say around 2014.
