What's the longest you've ever waited for an attraction at KI?

Any mobile phones in the 5-hour lines that Terp mentioned might have been useful for phone calls. Considering airtime costs, that probably wouldn't have been an economical way to pass the time. -

^ 11% is pretty normal. In many states, a county lodging tax gets added to the standard sales tax rate. Almost all counties have such a tax. -
Out of curiosity, I created an account on the Magisto site. You choose 10 pictures and 5 video clips, then the service turns them into an automatic video montage. This becomes your entry. The "{park name} movie theme" doesn't seem to exist, though. The grand prize package might not be ideal for Cedar Fair platinum passholders, as it includes 8 single-day tickets to Knott's Berry Farm. Income tax is generally owed on the full retail value of all prize components. (The finalist prizes are under $600 in value, putting them under the IRS reporting limit. Consult a tax professional to determine your potential tax liability for accepting a specific sweepstakes prize.)

^ It's scheduled to operate daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. If attendance is very low, opening both wave pools probably isn't necessary.

The organ was back at the carousel and was operating? (i.e. it wasn't a recording?) The organ was removed from the ride last season, and the park teased a video of it testing over the winter. It wasn't at the ride as of last Tuesday. The actual organ should be loud enough to hear well beyond a few feet.

^ Every day that the park closes at 10pm or later, through Labor Day weekend.

^ The KI website originally listed the current schedule (off Tuesday) as specific to this week (May 24-30), but applicable dates are no longer there. I'd definitely trust the news article and park signage going forward. Last-minute schedule changes are possible, so checking the website when planning a trip is always a good idea.

I bought a ticket!

I might need to get to KI yet again this week to see the show before I read too much about it. As a reminder for those who don't check the schedule, there are no shows on Tuesday (of this week).

If you have your order ID and e-mail address used to place the order, you can check the payment status here: https://paymentportal.accesso.com/kingsisland/login If you have your physical card or pass voucher, you can either call the park or visit the ticket window with the "online payments" sign. If payments were cancelled or were not successful, you should be able to make the remaining payment(s) at that time. The park's number is 513-754-5700.

This is a weird thing to get worked up about. The high-fivers seem to be large groups who sometimes extend the gesture beyond their friends. You don't have to high-five back when this happens, even though some guests apparently choose to do so. No one is going to be offended because you are minding your own business. As for germs, hopefully you are washing your hands (or at least using one of the hand sanitizer dispensers) before eating. Like homestar92, I would be more worried about the ride restraints, which have been touched by many hands before yours.

Memorial Day weekend is no time for a snow dance, Lucas!

Welcome to KICentral! This is a public forum that's not affiliated with Kings Island. Employment and hiring questions regarding the park don't belong here. You should contact HR directly with any questions. If you're not sure who to contact, the main HR phone number is 513-754-5748. If you get hired, make sure to pay close attention to their guidelines about online postings, especially if you plan to be active here.

I couldn't be there last night, but the reviews make me excited to see this on my next visit! It's nice see that they apparently hit another home run in the KI Theater.

^ You don't need to randomly and instantly post random things about your life to have an account on Twitter. Anyone can create an account (or more than one account) and use it for any purpose (that's permitted by its terms of service). You don't need to ask people to "follow" you. Many choose to use one to aggregate content that they're interested in, as many companies and individuals use Twitter to share information. I have 4 Twitter accounts, going back to 2008, and I hardly ever post to any of them. This is in stark contrast to the social networking service of Facebook Inc. They limit their users to one account, which they encourage its owner to share absolutely everything with.

It has been extended in past seasons, but not (necessarily) until the end of May. Rather, it's been through the Thursday following Memorial Day. Of course, as you said, there's no guarantee that it will happen again this year. Counting on it would not be wise.

At least that's better than staying in Columbus, OH to visit a FUN park. -
But you're the team captain!

^ Only those who register and meet the fundraising minimum by the deadline will be able to participate. Of course, others could enter the park (during public operating hours, with a valid form of admission) and join you in areas that are open to the public, but they wouldn't be able to participate in the event. (reserved coaster riding, lunch/reception, etc)
-
^ They can happen at any time. There was a tweet-up this past Monday.
-
^ If you want to verify current policies/procedures, the quickest way would be to call the park during business hours and speak with someone in their call center. The website does state that it's valid any public operating day.

^ Cedar Point was allowing souvenir cup refills at the Coca-Cola Freestyle locations a week ago Tuesday. They also allowed me to get water there, which they specifically forbade me from doing last season. Keep in mind that only 2014 Cedar Point souvenir cups qualify for $0.99 refills at Cedar Point. A cashier might accept a 2014 Kings Island cup, but (as I understand it) they're not supposed to. 2013 (or earlier) cups do not qualify.

^ In general, it's good to avoid linking to or embedding anything from sites that host malware. Some sites unknowingly host malicious software for malicious advertisers, arising from incompetent security practices. The location in Rivertown that used to house a buffet is now a full-service restaurant, the Reds Hall of Fame Grille. Many find it to be the best food value in the park; prices are comparable to similar restaurants outside the park. It has been over a decade since I last ate fudge at Kings Island. Or anywhere, for that matter. I'm sure you'll get an answer on that question soon.

It sounds like that employee was irresponsible, but that doesn't mean that you should be too. Hopefully you told Guest Services, so that this machine can be cleaned and repaired. I certainly wouldn't want to eat anything out of a candy machine that guests had been reaching into.
