Just to note here, there is still time to register & fundraise for that event. http://www.coastingforkids.org/ There have been at least six unofficial meetups organized so far this year. I'd say it's likely that there will be a lot more than one this summer.

There's already an event on June 8: Coasting for Kids. Many members from here are participating. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28956-6th-annual-coasting-for-kids-sunday-june-8

Gold and Platinum Passholder ERT, Banshee and The Bat, May 9th
malem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Banshee has yet to see a rainy day of public operation, so we may find out. Most rides at Kings Island continue operating in the rain, as long as there is no lightning in the area. Hopefully this will also be the case with Banshee. -
Apparently, Line Jumping IS an Accepted Sporting Event at KI Now :)
malem replied to Miythandria's topic in Kings Island
Unsanctioned line jumping at Kings Island isn't affecting your wait time much, if at all. It may be annoying, but there's no need for guests to overreact. If a line jumper is close to me in line, I'll discretely inform a ride host when I get to the platform or the Fast Lane merge point. -
There were quite a few people at the park today, but crowds were very manageable. Days like last Friday and Easter Sunday have people spoiled. I also visited KI on the first Sunday of May 2012, which also had great weather. Wait times on major attractions (outside of Action Zone) were comparable to yesterday's.

The server at our table did a good job. The issue was that she had too much to do at once.
-
An hour would have been acceptable for a group that size, but it was actually about 1 hour 45 minutes. To be fair, their procedures aren't set up for groups of 16. There was only one server helping the table, and she had several other tables as well.

Already taking abuse.

Holiday World Free Day (5/15/2014)

A Facebook Inc. account is required to RSVP, so I guess it's a certainty that I won't be there. -
Small things that need changed at Kings Island.
malem replied to OpSonofBeast's topic in Kings Island
I like breaking all three rules. Just take care not to leave the same odd man out on successive rides. If you have a variable group, odd numbers can be hard to avoid. Depending on crowd flow, zig zagging can be quite beneficial. And it's a lot better than standing around debating what to ride. If everyone always stops and waits, no one would get much done. There's nothing wrong with splitting into smaller groups or having people meet up again later. -
^ "Left" and "right" doesn't work when there are 4 seats per row. You could be like Devan and change seat numbering schemes mid-sentence.
-
^ Payment plans are only offered on the online store, and only when using a desktop computer to access it. The all-season dining plan is only sold at the park, so using a payment plan is not possible.

You're buying a license for one person to use Fast Lane queues on one day. Transferring a wristband is like sharing one all-you-can-eat buffet meal or transferring an admission handstamp. It's fraud; there is no gray area. Committing fraud is much more serious than simply violating the terms on the ticket (eg. line jumping). The latter generally results in the ticket/pass being revoked, whereas the former can result in being banned from the premises and/or being charged criminally.

The parking price at the tolls may vary, but it's set at $12 when purchased online or at Kroger this year.
-
This year, the processing fee doesn't apply to vouchers for food, Dinosaurs Alive!, or parking. It does apply to admission, including season passes and Fast Lane. As always, using a park employee's time or allowing Kroger to take a commission is completely free.

Better yet, bring a small rechargeable battery charger (battery pack with 5V USB output) if your phone battery won't last the entire day. No upcharge, and you're not tethered to a wall. I'm sure that Terp's phone battery lasts all day when he's at an amusement park. I've had some very interesting conversations with complete strangers in queues. Or you can post in the meetups forum and find someone else from here in the park. -
^ On many days, GateKeeper was nearly a walk-on by early evening. It has great capacity. I'd recommend using Early Entry for other rides.

"... enjoyed ... good ... good ... good ..." I guess he liked it!

A service fee of $5.99 applies to all online orders, whether you use a payment plan or not. There is no additional charge for the payment plan. Payment plans are only available though the desktop (Flash) web store. This means that you must use a desktop/laptop computer, not a phone or tablet. The payment plan is presented as an option when making your purchase. The payment is deducted each month from the credit/debit card you use at the time of purchase. You can log in and change your payment information at any time. If your payment is ever declined, your pass(es) immediately become deactivated until your account is current.

Rides are machines, and they do have occasional downtime. If riders are on board when an attraction goes down, the park's focus is to get them off as quickly and safely as possible. It's not normal for guests to be stuck for a long time, but some rides take longer than others to get everyone off. Usually, they get the ride moving again after a relatively short delay.

Really, the excitement's over? It has only been 5 (public) days! I do believe that there are already a number of topics regarding various aspects of this particular building's future.

Unfortunately, some people are dishonest and/or senseless. A few might even read this forum. We don't want them getting ideas about defrauding Kings Island from Kings Island Central. Hence why I mentioned that it's probably a topic best avoided. I added that because I was (attempting to) explain the terms of the ticket being discussed. Of course, I'm not qualified (at all) to give any legal opinions or advice. I don't want anyone to think otherwise. Edited above to clarify.

There is a huge demand for Fast Lane. It's not going away in the foreseeable future. Many guests can't choose the day(s) they visit, yet they are willing to pay a huge premium to ensure their timely access to popular attractions. Fast Lane is a reason that some of them visit a Cedar Fair park at all. There's plenty of competition for entertainment dollars. When properly administered, the regular guest experience shouldn't suffer significantly. In fact, the revenue from Fast Lane is likely to contribute to higher overall ride capacity over time, making up for the impact of re-riders. Fast Lane is a revocable license for one person to use Fast Lane queues for one day. Like park admission tickets, they may only be used by one natural person. Any other use constitutes fraud, which is likely to be prosecuted. Terms for concert tickets are not the same. You're renting space (a seat, or a spot on the lawn) for the duration of the event. Nevertheless, transferring a (used) venue ticket is almost certainly going to render it void, per the terms listed on the ticket. (EDIT: To clarify, I am not an expert on law in any way. I'm just trying to offer an explanation of how one ticket is different from another type of ticket. If I'm wrong, by all means correct me.)

I've seen teenagers use what I think was Scotch tape do it right out in broad daylight in front of DB. I've seen park police in Sandusky use a rather clever method to catch individuals who attempt to steal services. I'm sure that their counterparts at KI are on top of it as well. These topics are usually best to avoid discussing. Morality aside, how anyone can think that getting a few rides on a roller coaster is worth potentially earning a criminal record is beyond my understanding.

There should be weekends when it's easy to do a lot more than 5 rides. Yesterday's weather was perfect, and there were extra crowds because of the park being closed today (Sunday). Also, once the waterpark opens, some crowds will head there during the day. If Fast Lane is significantly increasing the regular wait time, they need to get better with maintaining a good balance. If the Fast Lane queues get too long with a reasonable split, they should either lower the quantity available or (more likely) raise the price for those days. To their credit, this is only weekend #2.
