  1. Sales tax is collected on the price of the meal plan at the time of purchase. There is no additional tax when redeeming a meal on the plan. Extras you might purchase when redeeming (drinks, snacks, etc) would, of course, incur sales tax.
  2. Posting information released by the park is (of course) allowed. Generally, the source should be mentioned. If it's an online source (park's website, park's Twitter account, etc), a link should be provided. If you work for the park, you need to make sure that what you are sharing is actually public. There have been misunderstandings.
  3. The giant noodle made us want to meet up so that we could get a picture there.
  4. Park calendar: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/hours-directions/kings-island Hopefully we won't get a post this year from someone who drove 4 hours just to find this out. </PSA>
  5. ^ No one named Todd is in that photo. Those in the photo are: NoChickens, Mrs. No Chickens, Wingless92, UnrealNightmare, LoraX, jcgoble3 (who Lora and I had to push into the photo), Beastie1980, myself, Fire-Beast-OF FEAR, and momofbeastie1980 Banshee's line wasn't long. You would have been through in less than half an hour at its peak.
  6. We're in line at Banshee, ~15 min left in this queue. Then we'll close the night on Beast, getting in line before fireworks.
  7. Walking to Adventure Express now, then Banshee/Beast.
  8. After this, we are going to Vortex, Beast (at night), and Banshee.
  9. You need a wristband to use the all-day dining plan. If you buy at the park, they'll give you your wristband as soon as the purchase is complete at a ticket window, Guest Services, or a retail/food location that sells them. If you purchase online, you will get a printable voucher (or an e-mail to display on your mobile device) which can be used to pick up your wristband. The possible pick-up location(s) will be listed on your voucher after you complete your purchase online.
  10. Ok, then, here's one: http://belle.zzxc.net/fun/anderson-goble.jpg
  11. Here's one: http://belle.zzxc.net/fun/goblemedia.jpg (though it looks like Michael and I have a serious case of sun in our eyes)
  12. The link to print your tickets is found in the original e-mail you got after buying the tickets. It would have been sent from noreply@accesso.com . Just click the link there, and follow the steps to print your vouchers. If you can't find this e-mail, there are two ways to look up your order to print the tickets: Visit Guest Services or a ticketing window at Kings Island. They can look up and print your pass vouchers there. Make sure to have a photo ID and the credit card that you used for the order. Go to www.visitkingsisland.com and open the Accesso ticket store by clicking "Buy Now" on one of the ticket pages. From there, click the white question mark in the upper right corner of the store. Switch to the "Order Search" tab and fill out the requested information.
  13. ^ You could e-mail Tony; I'm not sure who's handling registration for that event. Presumably they'll send out a reminder e-mail with contact details, lest some simply forget about it. Parking overnight on CP property generally isn't allowed without a parking sticker or a marina/resorts parking pass. Devan would probably try to get a Kalahari meetup going that night.
  14. Forget Tower Drinks, let's get a group photo in front of the giant noodle. KI has had various nods to sponsors over the years. Allowing Kraft Foods to install a temporary sculpture is a lot more tasteful than most forms of advertising, in my opinion at least.
  15. As a reminder, if you signed up for the "Coaster Campout" camp site lottery at CP, you are entitled to free admission (plus ERT and meals) on the dates of that event. If you can't attend, I'm sure they would appreciate knowing in advance.
  16. ^ The dining page is the list. Notice the all day dining logo () to the right of the description of participating locations. (Festhaus, Hank's Burrito Shack, The Chicken Shack, etc)
  17. I've found KI's crowds to be much easier to predict that CP's. KI has a larger percentage of local guests who can easily come back another day. CP was packed all three times I visited last season: a Tuesday in May (8pm close, not during Math & Science Days), a ridiculously stormy Thursday in July, and a HalloWeekends Sunday (8pm close). This year, I'm thinking of trying a Sunday in May, CoasterMania for the first time, a Tuesday or Wednesday in mid-June, and/or the first Sunday of HalloWeekends.
  18. ^ That would still be the best location to get to, but you'd want to stop there after you're done at Easton. Take I-270 N to I-71 N from Easton Way or Morse Rd, then Polaris Pkwy is the first exit after you merge onto I-71.
  19. ^ Yes, there are several of them in Columbus. Assuming that you'll take I-71 straight through, the easiest location to get to would be on Polaris Pkwy just east of I-71. (Take exit 121, keep right at the exit, turn right onto Polaris Pkwy, and continue about one half mile. It will be on the right, near a Huntington Bank branch. If you get to United Dairy Farmers, you went too far.) I'm surprised that chugh43 hasn't chimed in here yet.
  20. Worlds of Fun is offering the season dining plan as well: https://www.worldsoffun.com/plan-a-visit/2014-pass-benefits- And Cedar Point is also doing so, according to Jason McClure on Twitter: (https://twitter.com/JasonMcClureCP/status/459168305656639489)
  21. I suspect that I'll be trying more menu items at KI this year, thanks to the new dining plan option. I'm looking forward to tasting wraps from The Chicken Shack and gluten-free pizza from the Festhaus. By the way, looking at Raising Cane's website, I noticed that they (finally) switched to a trans fat-free cooking oil. They were one of the holdouts sticking with liquid shortening in their fryers.
  22. Zaxby's opened one location in Columbus, which was already saturated with Raising Cane's locations. It closed in about six months.
  23. The Chicken Shack also has chicken salads, which are nowhere to be found on Raising Cane's menu. KI's dining page also mentions wraps and wings, though I didn't see those last weekend.
  24. There's also Zaxby's, for that matter, using basically the same concept. (source: zaxbys.com) The chicken I was served Thursday had a breading that appeared much lighter than the chicken in the website pictures above. Kings Island was apparently going for a more "home cooked" taste, and I heard that they got positive reviews. I've never tried either chain, so I really can't compare.
