  1. The park website here (under Camera Policy at the bottom) mentions only the Eiffel Tower and the train as permitting use of cameras. It does not mention either carousel.
  2. The thread on those is here, but that's for 20 oz drinks, not souvenir cups. I was not aware of an all-day deal for souvenir cups after the day of purchase.
  3. This has not been a good week for the amusement industry.
  4. One has to wonder if the mention of death as a potential hazard was forced on the park by state regulators following the incident with a raft flying off the ride. Schlitterbahn might not have had a choice in saying that.
  5. At least 24 minutes is an improvement over three to four hours.
  6. Hmm. I'm interested, depending on the price.
  7. His or her parents should stress the importance of following directions to them. And if the child cannot understand that, and cannot be trusted to follow instructions, then his or her parents should not allow them to ride until such time as he or she can be trusted to follow instructions. And if the parents let the six-year-old kid ride anyway, and this happens, then my facepalm is directed at the parents and kid equally.
  8. Anyone who puts their hand outside the boat for any reason after being told not to deserves a facepalm in my book. It's not that hard to follow simple instructions. And if he's so absentminded that he can't prevent himself from randomly grabbing the outside of the boat, then perhaps he shouldn't ride until his head clears up to the point that he can consciously follow those instructions. In a case like this, the rider is responsible first and foremost for his own safety. The rider FAILed in that simple responsibility, and therefore gets a facepalm from me.
  9. I wish I could have gone with you. That was an awesome trip! Thanks for the report!
  10. Are you sure? I would have thought, and have said before, that two trains would be more efficient, since with three it stacks virtually every time due to the short length of the ride.
  11. And I seem to recall SRR being down for an extended time (several days) just a few seasons ago. So it may be an old HUSS ride, but it may be a new HUSS part that failed.
  12. No photography or videography of ANY kind is permitted on ANY ride at Kings Island, except for the Eiffel Tower and KI&MVRR. It does not matter how the camera is held or mounted; it's not permitted, period.
  13. Water shoes can be worn for the most part, however on some slides (body slides and possibly some others) you will be required to take them off and hold them in your hands as you go down. Also on the surfing thing (I can't remember its name right now), you'll take the shoes off and toss them into the wave; they'll wash to the exit and you can pick them up there when you're done.
  14. ^ There were probably lots of people wearing fanny packs.
  15. Nobody here can give you a definitive yes or no. The only way to find out is to try the test seat at the entrance.
  16. I would assume that the count persists through name changes. I'm not sure about when a ride is moved, though.

  18. ^ Why not do both? Drink it, then keep the empty can as the souvenir.
  19. Can you personalize a Mello Yello? jcgoble3, who doesn't drink cola
  20. Glad you had fun! I found the use of Empress Chili to be interesting, as I expected that they would have either Skyline or Gold Star. The Empress stuff seems to be significantly thicker than what you get from Skyline or Gold Star. As for volleyball courts being in use, The Beach is actually hosting the National Volleyball League Midwest Championships today through Sunday. You and I will have to arrange a day to go together, as I have also never been able to do Big Kahuna either due to always going by myself.
  21. Perhaps the ride had had enough of listening to her singing and that was its way of protesting?
  22. Get a good pair of cargo shorts that have pockets with zipper closures, and carry a couple of Ziploc bags to seal your things in on water rides. Problem solved.
  23. AFAIK the ship has never opened even once.
