^ No. Diamondback operators yesterday were checking seat belts and clamshells at the same time.

I believe the single meal deal does include a drink, but the all-day and all-season plans do not.
-
^ Really? You need some variety.

Perhaps she can take that as an early lesson to simply carry her ID on her at all times, not just when she thinks she'll need it. When she becomes an adult, she'll need it all the time because you never know when you'll have to show it (credit card purchase, check purchase, traffic stop, etc.). Now would be a good time to start getting into the habit of always carrying ID.

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-V5-123-3659-11-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00H7WF2D4/ There. Brand new laptop for under $300. If you can't afford that, then you have no business being online in the first place. Windows ME has not been supported for nearly eight years, meaning that it has not received a security patch in nearly eight years. It likely has tons of security holes that will never be fixed. Good luck keeping your private information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) safe. Hackers love people like you.

...why? Why in the name of Bill Gates does ANYONE still use Windows ME? It's totally obsolete. Give it up. And on top of that, Instagram is a web service accessed through your browser (I'd add smartphone apps to that, but if you still use Windows ME, then you probably still use a flip phone ). It is not a program that you download to your computer.

That floating sensation (known as "airtime") is not affected by the seat belts. The belts are far too long for that. Anyone who can get the required number of clicks will have no problems with the belt.

After riding both at night tonight, the choice is easy. If I can only get one night ride that night, give me The Beast. Banshee's nighttime effects are cool and definitely make it a better ride at night than during the day, but no fancy lighting effects will ever match the incredible high-speed, out-of-control feeling in complete darkness that is a Beast night ride in pure awesomeness.

Why has this thread turned into Roller Coaster Tycoon? (Not that I'm complaining, mind you. )

Surprisingly, the test seat does not have a seat belt. I specifically looked for one on it, and it was not there.

Obviously, I am so uninterested in having my picture taken in front of that thing that I was drinking my Starbucks iced tea while the picture was taken. (On an off-topic, but slightly relevant, note, if you want something to drink other than water, go to Starbucks. They have the most reasonable drink prices in the park. The 24-ounce iced tea that I am drinking in that picture cost me just $2.97 after tax and Gold Pass discount.)

Best Day to Kings Island and/or Cedar Point
jcgoble3 replied to fanofFirehawk's topic in Kings Island
We went first week of June last week and had walk-on to nearly everything including Gatekeeper. The only long lines were for Maverick and MF at the end of the week. I was there Thursday and Friday that week. The cool weather (as I mentioned a few posts up) was probably what kept the crowds so low. -
Ok, then, here's one: http://belle.zzxc.net/fun/anderson-goble.jpg Allow me to clarify further: I'm talking about a candid photo. Not a posed shot where I'm clearly unhappy to be in the picture.

Nope, my mouth isn't closed there. I can see my teeth. I'm talking about a picture of me with my upper lip and lower lip touching.

Best Day to Kings Island and/or Cedar Point
jcgoble3 replied to fanofFirehawk's topic in Kings Island
By the time I would spend $40 to $50 on gas for the round-trip, there's nothing left for a hotel close enough to the park for the short night. And honestly, with a night that short, and knowing my ability to wake up on short sleep and drive, I would really have to fork over the money to stay at Hotel Breakers if I wanted to do it so I wouldn't have to drive anywhere in the morning. And that destroys my budget right there. -
Best Day to Kings Island and/or Cedar Point
jcgoble3 replied to fanofFirehawk's topic in Kings Island
Yeah, there's a little thing called "the cost of a hotel room" (shut up Devan, I'm not sleeping in my car ) that will keep me from making the trip. Also, I never received any email at all from them, even to tell me that I wasn't selected. So I don't know how to even contact the people responsible for the event. Maybe there are other people who can tell me how to contact them (hint, hint ). -
Just walking past it will probably be more than enough for me.

Yes, I honestly think that if it were not for KIC and meeting people on here and making new friends, I may not have a season pass this year. I tend to go through phases, and this is about the longest I have ever stuck with a particular pastime. As usual, my mouth is hanging open. *sigh* jcgoble3, wondering if there even exists anywhere on this planet a picture of himself with his mouth closed

Because it baffles my mind that they're going to let that... thing sit on the midway for three months. I know I'm going to get tired of looking at that gaudy thing before too long. Hell, I may be tired of looking at it by the time I leave tomorrow. At that point, it becomes an eyesore.

Best Day to Kings Island and/or Cedar Point
jcgoble3 replied to fanofFirehawk's topic in Kings Island
My two visits to Cedar Point were June 20 to 24, 2011, and June 6 and 7, 2013. All seven of those days saw temperatures of barely 70°F or less and overcast skies, usually with an ever-present threat of rain, thunder, and lightning. All seven of those days featured extremely light crowds, with waits of 15 to 20 minutes for Millie, 20 to 30 minutes for TTD, 15 to 20 minutes for Maverick, and so on. Often there was no significant difference between morning ERT and normal operation. All I'm saying is that if you live close enough to have the luxury of making plans on one or two days' notice, watch the weather report very closely. jcgoble3, who doesn't have the luxury but somehow managed to luck out both times (Can he do it again? Find out in 2015!) -
JULY THIRTY-FIRST?!?!? I can understand one or two weekends. But three full months?! Sheesh. Either Kings Island or Kraft has lost their minds here. I'm not sure which. Maybe both.
-
are you sure? Isn't that the one with green Intamin track? No. Just no. Don't even go there.

Almost as bad as the "Knott" fiasco several days ago! Theme park puns are Knott Berry funny, and frankly, I don't Cedar Point. I don't think anyone would make any such puns (Perhaps Kennywood, but I don't really Carowinds) This is awesomely hilarious!

^ Um... Banshee does not have a 300-foot drop.

End of Epic Roller Coaster
jcgoble3 replied to shark6495's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Arguably, their pre-existing conditions were what killed them, not the ride itself. Otherwise, Firehawk has a body count too. And I don't see any problem with the number of warning signs. It's not really that many.
