  1. What's wrong with Mission: SPACE? I loved that thing. If you're talking about the fact that it literally has barf bags inside each ride vehicle, I personally found that hilarious.
  2. There are two things working against this: most parks already have an inverted coaster of some kind (either B&M invert or Vekoma SLC) and the higher cost of a B&M invert. The parks that don't already have an inverted coaster are diminishing in number. Just thinking aloud the larger parks that don't have an invert but could probably use one are Dollywood, Silver Dollar City, Kennywood, and Holiday World. Some other parks - like Canada's Wonderland or the Six Flags properties with an SLC - have an invert there already so it's harder to justify another invert installation. And how did that prevent Kings Island from getting a B&M invert, when it already had two inverts? Oh wait...
  3. If it was open on employee day but not open to the public, then that would suggest to me that it either encountered a mechanical problem after employee day, or that it indeed has not been certified by the state yet (since IIRC, rides do not need to be certified to be ridden by employees, only by the public). 4. I think what he's saying is that if they can put a longer belt on the seats in row 4, then what is stopping them from putting that same belt on all 32 seats? Or to put it another way, if they can design the seats in row 4 to be more accommodating to larger riders, they why can't they design all of the seats that way?
  5. From Kings Island's Facebook page: My only response: ...why?
  6. Work also comes again before six parks. It took me a few times to finally realize you were talking about 6 parks, and not a 6 pack.... (which depending on who you ask, they would agree with you work before a six pack). Look even closer, then consider this: FUN is the stock symbol of Cedar Fair. SIX is the stock symbol of Six Flags.
  7. Yes, the hours on the website are the hours for rides for the general public. Typically, the parking lot opens 90 minutes before rides (so usually 8:30 on a 10am opening) and the gates open 30 minutes before rides (9:30 on a 10am opening), with those who do not have a Gold or Platinum season pass being confined to the area in front of the fountains until the actual opening time.
  8. Intamins... jcgoble3, avoiding a one-word post
  9. Two Auntie Anne's locations? Interesting. I actually never got back into Rivertown on opening day, so I'll have to spend some time back there on Friday evening. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain

  11. I had no problem ignoring the show on Friday. That may say more about my selective hearing than anything else. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  12. ^ I would add Backlot Stunt Coaster, Invertigo, and Delirium to that list. All three can get long lines, particularly on Saturdays, due to relatively low capacity (and popularity in the latter's case). Flight of Fear can also get long lines, but I'd rather see an update to the "pre-show" video in the hangar than FUN TV there. However, FUN TV might be worthwhile in the outside portion of the queue.
  13. My guess is that it is as simple as not having completed the required amount of testing to receive its certification from state inspectors yet. With the focus on the brand-new roller coaster across the midway, they may have let Drop Tower's testing slide to ensure that Banshee was ready for opening day. If that is the case, then now that Banshee is up and running, they would be able to turn attention to Drop Tower and hopefully get it certified this week. Again, that is just my guess. I have no actual knowledge of what's going on.
  14. No, Guest Relations cannot do height measurements. There are two height measurement stations. One is located to the left of the front gate at the help center (behind and to the left of the Fast Lane sales booth), and the other is located in Planet Snoopy.
  15. Uh-oh, Don sounds a little ****ed off. Be extra nice to him for a while, folks.
  16. Deductive reasoning: Hypercoaster is Diamondback Diamondback is at Kings Island Kings Island has a fan-base That fan-base has created KICentral [...] And stop right there. KICentral is all about discussing Kings Island. In fact so much discussion of Kings Island occurs at KICentral that they have multiple sections of the forums and thousands of threads for you to discuss in, depending on the specific topic of what you want to discuss. They have it set up like this because trying to discuss everything in one thread would make discussions difficult, if not impossible, to follow. Therefore, I'll say it again: This thread is COMPLETELY redundant to the entire KICentral forums and therefore pointless. If I was an admin, I would have locked this thread on sight when I first saw it.
  17. That is true. There is nothing wrong with selling your first rider shirt. There IS something wrong with selling your first rider shirts.
  18. Two hour wait for the season long plan. 90 minute wait for the one day meal plan Which makes NO sense to me. Having different wait times for each plan only serves to confuse people—both guests and employees. Why not just pick one or the other and use it for both?
  19. Then why is it still being advertised on the PA system?
  20. Uhh...I disagree. I rode both BLSC and Banshee on opening day and I'd give the slight edge in forcefulness to Banshee over BLSC's helix. Only by a bit though- that helix is still pretty intense. That's interesting. I find the helix on BLSC to be so forceful that I have to put forth effort to keep my head up and straight. Banshee wasn't THAT forceful to me.
  21. Oh, really? You wouldn't know that by listening to the PA system. On Friday evening, the PA system was advertising the Starlight Spectacular. If it's gone, they should remove the ads for it from the system.
