  1. Or if you're going to get plenty of drinks throughout the day, buy a new souvenir cup each day ($9.99 with a Gold/Platinum Pass) and take advantage of free refills on day of purchase. I did that last year. Plus that enables you to ride Banshee and Firehawk in the morning before buying the cup so you don't have to buy a locker to store the cup you brought from home.
  2. ...or at least they are not supposed to include soft drinks. The cashier at Hank's insisted that it did, even after I tried to correct her.
  3. ^ That's weird. I can't figure out how that helps. It would be interesting to hear an explanation of how it does from someone with relevant knowledge.
  4. I doubt this event will ever be held again. The premise of the event was the first true night rides, before it opened to the public for the first time. The "first night rides" can only happen once.
  5. Thanks for the report! Interesting that they had FUN TV on the speakers at Boo Blasters. Yesterday it was silent in there. Apparently the speakers were not working, or at least I couldn't hear them. Gold Pass parking was removed a while back. I don't remember whether it was 2012 or 2013 that it was taken out, but it definitely was not there last year.
  6. Yes. Quite a few of us have. I personally first met him on closing day last year, and saw him during Media Day and again yesterday. He was a short distance behind me in that massive Banshee line yesterday, and we passed each other in adjacent switchbacks several times.
  7. On Media Day, they were usually happy to accommodate seat requests when possible, though they sometimes have to say no to front seat requests if that line is already too long (back to the separator. I would imagine the same would be true throughout the season for the most part, especially since some people will have to specifically ride in row 4 (which have slightly longer seatbelts).
  8. 3 hours and 15 minutes, including the one-hour downtime. And I don't understand why I had to wait so long when I was among the first 200 or so people at the front gate. How did everybody get in front of us?
  9. It's not nearly as forceful as Invertigo, or BLSC's helix, but you can definitely feel the forces throughout the ride.
  10. The same ones were being used on opening day. Fortunately, it appears that other rides have different questions, and the ones at Boo Blasters were much better.
  11. I just noticed that one of those listings has six shirts available. Six. It's absolutely ridiculous that one person could get six shirts, just to try to make a buck.
  12. First impressions? I'll bite. Keep in mind that I have so far only experienced it at Banshee and Boo Blasters. Most of the "trivia questions" at Banshee were laughably ridiculous. "What is the best new ride for 2014? A. Banshee B. Banshee C. Banshee D. Banshee" Um, really? That hardly qualifies as a "trivia question". That one was the worst offender, but there were others that annoyed me. Boo Blasters had much better trivia questions. Also on the subject of trivia, the hints literally give it away. Create some tougher hints or ditch them altogether. While they're at it, they can shorten the time to answer drastically. By the time 30 seconds are up, my attention has turned elsewhere. I think it should be 10 seconds at most. Music videos: I'm not a fan of them, but that's more my personal tastes in music. However at Boo Blasters, either the speakers were broken, or (more likely since the TVs were inside the building) the sound was turned off. What's the point of playing music without sound? Ideas for additions: I want to see something interactive. Maybe the #KIPhotoGame that Ryan mentioned, or something else. I'm no good at brainstorming at 2:00 in the morning. Overall review for opening day: C+, with plenty of potential for improvement.
  13. That is so cool that you got to go out onto the field at the Horseshoe! Glad you had fun!
  14. I waited 3 hours and 15 minutes, including an hour of downtime. That does not include 2 hours waiting for the gates to open or 15 minutes waiting for the parking toll booths to open.
  15. I was sitting toward the back, facing away from the stage, and engaged in conversation for the most part. So I found it easy to ignore. jcgoble3, not a fan of musical revues, or any music except country
  16. Yes, they were $1 an hour last year. The season dining plan can also be purchased at Guest Services. That's where I bought mine (speaking of which, I still need to pay ohiocolts's mom back for it) with very little wait.
  17. Well, I think I found some of the Fast Laners' extra shirts: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xkings+island+Banshee+first+rider+shirt&_nkw=kings+island+Banshee+first+rider+shirt&_sacat=0&_from=R40
  18. Forgot to mention that we did get a Banshee soft serve cone. With the gold pass discount it was $4.47 (I believe) and was about half the size of last year's. Not sure if that's the size they're going with this year or if it was a training issue, but that's how large they seemed to be for everyone. At the Chicken Shack they showed combo prices of $13.99 for 3 tenders, fries and a drink or $14.99 for 4 tenders. They didn't show individual item prices so they either weren't available or they were just really pushing the combos. Noticed that at the Festhaus as well. Combo prices but no individual prices, except for some sides. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk You should be able to buy individual items. I know you can at Hank's, which also only gives combo prices on the menu board. This. Yes. This thread is redundant to the entire forum. This reminds me of when someone went into the "Rumors" section and tried to start the "Super Duper Rumor Thread".
  19. Work and school can be skipped*, and Good Friday is not nearly as widely observed as Easter Sunday. I think at worst, it will be the same as a typical June weekday. *Not without consequences, of course, but some things are just more important.
  20. I bought the season plan today and used it at Hank's. The good part is that the cashier immediately knew what it was and how to process it (the plan is uploaded directly to your season pass, so all they have to do is scan the pass). However, the menu boards did not specify what was considered a side item (you get one entree and one side with each meal), so I was a bit confused on that point. I ended up not getting a side at all because the burritos are large enough to fill me up by themselves. Also, the cashier insisted on giving me the drink for free, even after I said that I thought the drink wasn't included. On a side note, there have been some major price changes, some more major than others. Soft drinks are now $3.99 for a small or $4.29 for a large. For the first time, Coca-Cola Freestyle drinks are available in both sizes (they were small only in 2012 and large only in 2013), and are also the same price as non-Freestyle soft drinks (previously they cost 20 to 30 cents more). Also, entree items at Hank's have jumped from $7.59 to $10.59 (they are advertised on the menu as $14.59 for a combo with a drink, but the entree item can be purchased solo). If there are similar large increases across the park (I didn't check), then it seems that they have changed the pricing model from "charge what season pass holders can afford to pay on a regular basis" to "charge what the one-day visitors can afford to pay on a splurge trip and offer a discounted season-long plan to ease the burden on pass holders". Which is not necessarily a bad thing.
  21. At 11:30 this Sunday? You'd be the first one in line. Park hours for this Sunday are noon to 7:00. And given that that is Easter Sunday, I would expect the park to be dead with people celebrating the holiday.
  22. Also remember that Cedar Point ERT is open to all resort guests, which requires a larger area to deal with the much larger number of people. On top of that, CP has four gates and it's not reasonable to expect everyone to use one gate given the layout of the resorts. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  23. Fast Lane normally does not begin until regular park opening (i.e. not during ERT) Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
