  1. Hilarious, and more than a bit creepy...
  2. Bingo. jcgoble3, not understanding the uproar over these photos
  3. It probably means that the admins have "deleted" the thread. Threads like that still show up under "Participated" in my Tapatalk. I believe when a thread is "deleted" here, the mods/admins actually move it to a special section of the forums visible only to them, so that they can refer to it in the future if needed. Such is the case with the original Media Day thread, which was "deleted" when the RSVP deadline passed to "prevent confusion" or something like that (which doesn't make sense to me since there was other useful discussion in that thread, but whatever).
  4. Well, I'm planning on some go-karting that evening. (Speaking of which, it's been over a month since I've been down there. I need to go back down there soon before I forget how to drive around the track. Probably this next week, possibly even tomorrow.)
  5. My understanding is no photos of Banshee testing. Therefore, I would guess that mere pictures of Banshee that do not actually depict it testing should be OK (but I would also recommend that you wait for official word on that, in case I misinterpreted it).
  6. You might want to check with the park on that. They might not allow seats to be transferred.
  7. "More utilization". That may be good for the park's profits, but I'm concerned there could be too much utilization. One of the things I liked about it in previous years was how quiet and uncrowded it was, without unsupervised, annoying teenagers* (bouncing basketballs optional), loud/obnoxious people, and the like. Even if you didn't care about the dinos, it was a great place to relax for an hour and take a break from the rides (especially while waiting on lunch to settle). With free admission to Gold and Platinum Pass holders and cheaper admission for everyone else (when purchased two or more at a time), I foresee the possibility that these types of people will invade DA! and completely destroy the peaceful environment with large crowds and loud/obnoxious behavior. I'm not saying that that will happen, or even that it's likely to happen, but it is something that I'm wary of. *Disclaimer: Not all teenagers are annoying, as many who post on these forums have shown.
  8. I just checked my 2012 and 2013 maps, and it's missing on both of them. I don't have any earlier maps.
  9. While we already know that Gold and Platinum Pass holders will get free admission to the dinos this year, I was just poking around on the park's website and discovered new DA! pricing for everyone else in the online store. Instead of simply $5/person, online prices for the trail are now $6 for one ticket, $4 each for two tickets, $3 each for three tickets, or $2.50 each for four tickets. The store also makes no mention of movie tickets, which could mean two things: either the movie is free again like it was in 2012, instead of being another upcharge like it was in 2011 and 2013 (seriously, PLEASE make up your minds ), or it's gone and will be replaced with something else. What do you guys think of the new pricing structure and the possibilities for the movie?
  10. ^ Yes; the ball is depicted at maximum height after launch, plus a level of exaggeration typical for the map.
  11. Whoops, I only saw this just now. Give it a few days; Tim is busy with a GOCC/Coaster Crew joint event at Dollywood today. Hopefully he should respond next week. In other news, my GOCC renewal notice arrived in the mail today.
  12. When I actually pay attention to Twitter more than once a month.
  13. I'm pretty sure that's the artist's depiction of Slingshot's ball.
  14. Interesting. I just took a mock transaction through to the payment stage, and it does in fact appear that the convenience fee has been removed completely. In that case, I would suggest simply renewing online, as that will present the least amount of hassle.
  15. You can change it on iPhone, too. When I had my iPhone I was able to change it to 30. I keep mine at 30 so it lines up with the forum. That way when someone says "read back on page x" then it really is page x on my phone not page z Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk 10 per page lines up too. Page x on the website lines up with pages 3x−2 to 3x on my Tapatalk. jcgoble3, a human calculator (sometimes)
  16. I'd check with the park as to whether you can renew his pass without him present. They might require the passholder to be present to renew in person. However, if you can renew in person, I recommend doing so, as all online transactions get a convenience fee attached; at last check that convenience fee was $5.99. No such fee is charged on in-person transactions.
  17. The website shows 30 per page and does not allow that to be changed. Tapatalk shows 20 per page by default, and at least on Android allows you to change that number to suit your preferences. I believe it can be set to 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 per page. I keep mine set at 10 to minimize data usage (so I don't have to load as many posts when I just want to read the last two).
  18. Well, he is. He's giving us a guided tour of Banshee's construction process.
  19. That's actually not unrealistic IMO!
  20. Once again, Don has asked us to only link to the official release, NOT embed the map in the forums.
  21. Yes, I would consider advertising it on Twitter to be an official release.
  22. Looks very interesting! I find it weird that you back into the station at the end. Very odd. That said, I think they have a winner on their hands!
