  1. I'm a night owl. I'm usually up until about 3 or 4 in the morning, and then I don't get up until early to mid-afternoon.
  2. Why not? They did exactly that in Coney Mall.
  3. ...and if that's the case, I'll bet that the inside of the circle becomes a designated smoking area. jcgoble3, wishing that non-smokers could have a nice, peaceful place to rest without being subjected to cigarette smoke
  4. I haven't gotten any email or call about my camping registration yet. Should I have gotten something by now?
  5. I'm often on here late at night, and I have noticed for quite a while that at about 2:00 AM every night, the forums slow way, way down to the point of being almost unusable. During this time, waiting 30 to 60 seconds for a forum or thread to load is common, and tonight I had to wait two full minutes for the off-topic forum to load. This happens at the same time every night, and everything goes back to normal around 2:20 to 2:30 AM every night. What's going on? Given the regular schedule, I'm guessing that it has something to do with the nightly backup, possibly utilizing too many system resources on the server. Could that be it, or is it something else?
  6. It was moved from inside the plant, where it was manufactured, to outside the plant, where it is being stored either temporarily or permanently. That's not enough? You could also say that it's "going to" stay right where it is. But realistically, it makes no sense to make the track simply to let it sit out there. Even if the order is canceled, they would certainly either reuse the steel for something else or move the track back to the back of the property for long-term storage. There's no way they would let it sit right there over the long term.
  7. In the phrase "Carowinds or somewhere else", I would argue that the Clermont Steel Fabricators property IS "somewhere else", as in "not Carowinds".
  8. ^ I know what SOBwasaSOB said to be a fact as well. Hint: Compare the set of {all possible destinations for that track} to the set of {Carowinds and everywhere that qualifies as "somewhere else"}.
  9. For the record, all photos are displaying fine on Firefox on my laptop.
  10. It was closed... back on announcement night. EDIT: beaten
  11. You can't embed them, if that's what you're asking; IP.Board doesn't allow that. Just post the URL for, or a standard link to, the tweet and, if you want to, manually copy and paste the content (making sure to maintain attribution).
  12. According to a tweet from yesterday, the map will not be posted on the website until around April 1.
  13. Good point. That could be the case too.
  14. Yes, those do indeed look like footers to me.
  15. Last season when Millennium Force valleyed on Dino Island or whatever they call it now, they actually disassembled the train and took it back to the transfer track piece by piece. When Maverick valleyed on the same day, they just winched it to the top of the next loop and let it go from there. For more on those incidents, see this thread: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/27353-millie-maverick-valley-at-cp/
  16. Why is everybody so concerned about that specific wall?
  17. Those are my two guesses as well, but I'm not sure which one it is.
  18. This bothers me so much when people don't understand how to use a versus an. A is used before consonants and an is used before vowels. Correction: "A" is used before consonant sounds, and "an" is used before vowel sounds. Example: A user on KIC will clap his hands in an hour. ("User" begins with a "Y" sound, while "hour" begins with an "O" sound.) (EDIT: beaten to it)
  19. The one thing I've learned during my 5 years on KIC is that their are arguments about every single thing you can imagine. I shouldn't ay arguments, they are more like debates, lets say that! Speaking of which...
  20. Star Wars eats up enough of my free time. I don't need a second fandom to kill it entirely.
  21. Speaking of the Star Trek exhibit and Klingons on International Street, here's a photo I discovered last month while doing some cleaning: (Photo copyright © 1993 Paramount Parks Inc. and Paramount Pictures Corporation.) The woman in the middle is my mother (now do you see who I learned to wear a fanny pack from? ), and I'm the kid standing in front of her. I would have been about six years old when this was taken. To clarify here, my mother was (and still is) the Star Trek fan. I have never been interested in Trek. EDIT: Can anyone on here identify the building in the background on the right side of the picture? It looks familiar, but I can't figure out exactly what it is.
  22. I've never been to any of those, so I can't help you. But congrats on the job offer, and have fun (both at the job and on the trip)!
  23. Desktop Firefox 27.0.1 on Windows 8, and I was having the same issue for a few minutes. All seems to be back to normal for now.
