  1. Kings Island Platinum Passes do work. I have a KI Platinum Pass and never had any problem with it and FUN Perks.
  2. I see a gap in the first drop. Is that what you're talking about? I'm guessing it was caused by adjacent photos being taken at different angles (i.e. with the satellite in slightly different positions in orbit). There's also a less-noticeable gap in the drop into the splashdown.
  3. No it doesn't for me. I actually just checked and he is indeed correct about the Google Earth KI update. Google Maps and Google Earth are not the same thing. To clarify: Google Maps, which is the online service that you view through your web browser at maps.google.com, still shows the imagery from July 1, 2010. Google Earth, which is the downloadable program that you install on your hard drive, is the one that has been updated with imagery from August 29, 2012. On a side note, I wish the pictures had been taken while the park was open. I like seeing all the tiny people in the park, looking for the trains on the roller coasters, etc.
  4. It appears, that CoasterFanatics.com has gone live once more. Thanks for the heads-up. I've restored the counter to my signature.
  5. I believe those places, like Panda Express and Chick-fil-a, are operated by outside interests, not Cedar Fair (in this case Kaman's Art Shoppes).
  6. Uh, no, the admins make that call, not you. There are other things being discussed in this thread besides your specific problem.
  7. They also tweeted this: EDIT: They also confirm here that this is where the dive show was.

  9. I only ever got two instant rewards, and they didn't seem random to me. I got one on the purchase that leveled me up to two stars and one on the purchase that leveled me up to three stars. (I never reached four stars.) As for the survey itself, the first time I tried to submit my answers, I received an error message saying, "Your information appears to be spam." The second attempt at submitting worked.
  10. Interesting. The fair board has no say in the matter now. I wonder how that will change things. Specifically, will dealing directly with the state be easier or more difficult than dealing with the fair board? Only time will tell.
  11. I see the "Gobble" error a lot, though that particular one is usually a mispronunciation, not a misspelling. School bullies used to use it to make fun of me, especially around Thanksgiving, but it never bothered me. My name seems to be one of the most difficult names in the world to spell, even when the correct spelling is right in front of you. I've seen Gobel, Gobble, Globe, Gable, and more. Even my first name (Jonathan) is often misspelled. In short, don't worry about it.
  12. That's kind of dishonest. Perhaps, but they shouldn't have left it available to me to use again. It should have been properly scanned back in June. I guess they can chalk the loss up to the growing pains of a new system (and really, how much is that loss compared to total annual revenue anyway?). Good to know.
  13. Story, including a photo of the ribbon cutting at the park's grand opening in 1972: http://warrencounty.fox19.com/news/people/99634-former-kings-island-general-manager-named-hall-fame
  14. Well, we always say on here, "When in doubt, ask the park." I just asked the park through the Contact Us link on the FUN Perks website. I'll let you know here what the response is. And sometimes the system doesn't reject it. Case in point: The drink wristband voucher I got for signing up back in May didn't show as used after I used it in June, so I redownloaded and reprinted it and took it to the park in August. It worked without a problem. I'm not sure it was even scanned the first time I used back it in June, but either way, I got an extra drink wristband out of it.
  15. I would hope it is compatible with the promotional price, otherwise it's useless as the voucher is only valid during the promotional period. I just selected and downloaded the reward, and the voucher simply says "Save $20 off the regular price of one 2013 Kings Island Season Pass." It says nothing about being for Gold only. Note how it says regular price. Not to be combined with discounts. If I were to infer using previous knowledge, I would assume the FUN Perks voucher is uncompatible with the discount occurring as we speak (6 easy payments of $13.33!) I think the text in RED is the key here..King's Island Season Pass. A Platinum Pass is an all Cedar Fair Pass, with your HOME PARK being King's Island. But let us know if it works.. Technically, my existing Platinum Pass says "Kings Island" on the front, so one could say that it is a Kings Island Season Pass. But yeah, I'll find out if it works.
  16. I just selected and downloaded the reward, and the voucher simply says "Save $20 off the regular price of one 2013 Kings Island Season Pass." It says nothing about being for Gold only. And Guest Services is able to process renewals? I'll keep that in mind as it will likely be late in the day when I do the renewal.
  17. From the HoliWood Nights Group on Facebook (link): To which Dan Koch responded: If that's a hint, it's well disguised.
  18. On a related note, I intend to renew my Platinum pass on closing day. This will be done at the park ticket windows so I can use my $20 off FUN Perks coupon. To those who have already renewed at the ticket windows this fall, will I be able to continue using the same pass (same as online renewal), or will I have to go into the processing office and obtain a new pass?
  19. I would hardly consider Sparkler to be a "major" ride anyway. Pilgrim's Plunge, the three woodies, and possibly Liberty Launch are the only rides in the dry side of the park that I would consider "major". Given that, I'm leaning toward the renaming occurring in the waterpark.
  20. Just got the latest email newsletter from HW. According to it, the 2013 "additions" will include something for each park plus the renaming of a major ride. The announcement will be made via their website and on Facebook next Tuesday. So now we know it's more than just one new thing. What could they be? And what ride are they renaming? Let the speculation begin! (as if it hadn't already begun )
  21. It took me a few seconds to figure that one out myself. Great report!
  22. ^ Perhaps we should combine this thread with the scents thread and call it the Kings Island Sensory Extravaganza. After all, there are more senses than just hearing and smell.
  23. If he does, he ain't talking. Those who talk do not know. Those who know do not talk. Or something like that.
  24. Last time I checked, there were no Fright Lane coupons available through FUN Perks, only Fast Lane coupons. If the cashier took your Fast Lane coupons and you didn't buy Fast Lane, then you were ripped off as $30/person is the regular price of Fright Lane on Friday nights to begin with per the online purchase system on the KI website.
