Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
jcgoble3 replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
If we're going to talk about hybrid coasters, then that's covered as well with Adventure Express. -
True, but apps often provide a better-optimized user interface as well as (hopefully) using less data (since only the raw content needs to be downloaded with the app doing the formatting and providing the page structure locally, compared to a webpage where the entire page structure and styling must be downloaded).

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

http://rcdb.com/r.htm?na=&nm=na&pl=&ty=2&order=-24&ot=2 The record is one. The only so-called "wood" coasters with more than one inversion listed by RCDB are RMC products, which are steel and not wood, despite RCDB incorrectly classifying them as wood. -
Uh, what? It clearly looks bent to me. The front edge (closest to the camera) initially goes straight up, then abruptly tilts about 15° to 20° to the viewer's left. That's what I call "bent".

So should they tell kids that Mickey isn't real either? Or that tinkerbell doesn't actually fly during Wishes? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk Fairy tale feel good stories. Real life dangers. Apples. Oranges.

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

For Pete's sake, if there's something on Twitter you want us to see, LINK TO IT! Don't just tell us it's out there and make us hunt for it. That's simply annoying. *sigh* -
^ I checked those two books out from the library quite some time ago and read them. Interesting stories.

Wow! What happened to Zephyr?! Is the top supposed to be bent like that?

Ehhhhhh..... I would hope not.... due to Urgent Scare being in one side while the other is Coney Mall's prize warehouse. I think he was referring to the Kings Island Theater, currently home to Origins.

The episode with Bert the Conqueror at Kings Island is scheduled to air on the Travel Channel later this month. While I absolutely don't believe you would be lying, I find it interesting that the official schedule at http://www.travelchannel.com/shows/bert-the-conqueror now shows no new episodes until August, as does http://www.travelchannel.com/schedule. An episode with Holiday World (possibly the same episode) was scheduled for later this month as well. I assume the episode(s) was/were originally on the schedule, and thus I wonder why Travel Channel removed it/them, apparently without telling you about it.

Coaster Bucket List

IMHO, anyone capable of finding GateSleeper fun will almost certainly love Thunderbird. I can't speak for any of the other wing coasters. -

Cedar Point 2016 Talk

But how does a food service employee determine that the cup is stolen? -
Yes. As you leave the public road and pass under the arch, there is a driveway that goes off to the right toward the fence. You can stop there to drop off and pick up, then make a left turn to head back out. Note that this left turn cuts across the lines for the tolls to the main exit lane, so if the tolls are busy (not often, but can happen as there are only two booths and usually only one is staffed), it may be difficult to get back out. Here's an illustration, using Google Earth satellite view. The blue line is the main entrance path leading up the the tolls (which is the small white-topped structure at the top-center); the green line represents the exit lane, and the red line represents the drop-off lane and how it splits from the entrance and sends you back into the exit lane. The turnstiles are just a short distance beyond the top edge of the picture. EDIT: The image disappeared somehow and I had to recreate it. Let's hope this works:

Yeah, I've been thinking along those lines. The title makes it sound as if each rider has the option to ride with or without the splashdown. It just doesn't make sense.

G C I Was that correct? -
^ At 2:35, it's obvious that safety standards were not at the level they are today. Kings Island would not dispatch a Beast train today with workers standing on the catwalk inches away from where the train passes.

Fort Rapids waterpark in Columbus closed by police

I wonder if that has anything to do with why the former Holiday Inn in downtown Xenia became a Ramada several years ago. -
Yep, I remember that. She did the selfie with you in the gift shop.
-
Wait, wasn't it the other way around? I thought I was on the same train as YOU!

I wonder if the Studs are Young or old. -
I dont believe your suppose to count the first season... didnt they celebrate 40th in 2012? 40th anniversary, yes. Put another way, this season (2016) is the 45th season and 44th anniversary. Just as 1973 was the second season, but first anniversary. Anniversaries count only one end of the range (and thus can be calculated by straight subtraction), but the total number of seasons requires counting both ends (and thus requires adding one to the result of a simple subtraction).

Here's a video of Banshee's announcement, from the KICentral YouTube channel: -
On Fridays, no. Haunt begins as soon as the park opens (and there is also no Gold Pass ERT). On Saturdays, they have kid-friendly Halloween activities during the afternoon, which give way to the adult stuff around 5:00 to 6:00 PM. On Sundays, there is no Haunt at all, just the kid-friendly stuff all day.
