  1. I consider it to be a single ride (because of the single structure), but two credits (because of the two separate tracks). On the latter point, coaster-count.com agrees with me.
  2. I want a rollback! jcgoble3, who in 2011 missed a TTD rollback by two trains
  3. None of the article links above work, so I went looking for them on the Wayback Machine. The first three are not available there (two simply aren't archived, and one due to an unnecessarily restrictive/paranoid robots.txt). The last one (posted here October 17, 2007), though, can be found here: http://web.archive.org/web/20090218120916/http://www.kotv.com/news/topstory/?id=138062
  4. I laughed harder than I should have at this.
  5. Indeed, it seems like a bug, since http://pixelcaster.com/live/cedarpoint/ shows Cedar Point as one would expect (Valravn to be specific).
  6. Same here. I just Googled it and discovered that it was released on DVD and Blu-ray last Tuesday, which I had heard nothing about.
  7. I can't even figure out how that idea would work. You'd have to reconfigure the station to have two queues for every row, for starters. Then what happens if Mom wants to ride with 14-year-old Mike and 8-year-old Johnny, and Mike wants VR, Mom doesn't, and Johnny is too young for it? Would they force the family to split up? Taking it to a bit more of an extreme, Dad and 9-year-old Jason want to ride together, but Dad wants VR and Jason's too young for it. Do they force Jason to ride alone, likely prompting loud protests from Dad, who doesn't want a 9-year-old waiting alone at the exit/in the queue, but doesn't have another parent with him that day (because it's just a father-son excursion) to leave Jason with so he can ride with VR? Unless I'm missing something here, there's just no way that could ever work.
  8. But how busy was the park in general today? Is two hours reasonable for the crowd size? Also, consider that introducing something new on a coaster (e.g. seatbelts on Diamondback) is always going to slow things down and hinder capacity, at least in the short term while the ride operators adjust to a new way of doing things. The real test will be a few months from now, as to whether things are still significantly slower or if capacity has recovered to near previous levels.
  9. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_of_Fear#Kings_Island according to Wikipedia it has had 4 trains before, and Kings Dominion's version ran with 3. It would be the only way that coaster could hypothetically be thought to hit 2000 riders per hour. 1. Fixed the link for you. 2. RCDB says 4 trains, therefore Wikipedia says 4 trains, because the people who primarily take care of roller coaster articles on Wikipedia refuse to believe anything but RCDB. I gave up that fight years ago because my arguments against RCDB were basically met with "RCDB is right and therefore you are wrong."
  10. New paint or stain is also not an indicator of the likelihood of the ride being removed. I'm sure others can provide examples of rides being removed shortly after receiving fresh paint; I know such examples have been posted here before.
  11. I just remembered: we have seen what an abandoned amusement park can look like (roughly) ten years after abandonment: the Geauga Lake drone footage I posted here last month.
  12. ^ Very interesting! EDIT: I also laughed at #99.
  13. ^ Would you like me to use a Jedi mind trick on her?
  14. ^ That link just returns an error page. Did you mean this one: https://www.facebook.com/visitkingsisland/videos/10154564334113368/ ?
  15. ^ LOL! Actually, I think he's referring to Tony Clark of Cedar Point.
  16. No Flash. At least, I was able to get to the payment screen without being asked to activate Flash. (I keep it disabled, and enable it temporarily only when I actually need it.)
  17. After closing day last year, I would contend that they're not even operating that correctly.
  18. From the descriptions of the state of Kentucky Kingdom three years after Six Flags abandoned it, I don't even what to think about what kind of shape SFNO would be in ten years after being abandoned.
  19. Reds Grille is still listed under "Where can I eat when using a dining plan?". IIRC, last year the individual meals at Reds Grille were never listed on the website either.
  20. Referring back to the FAQ I linked on the previous page: So... yeah. Doesn't appear to be any waivers here. It actually sounds like they'd like to open it up to even younger children, given that the concerns with the typical usage of this model of headset aren't present in this case, but they're sticking to the manufacturer's policy anyway (perhaps to cover their butts in case of a lawsuit?).
  21. All I'm going to say is that they better have a go-kart track themed to Mario Kart. And not an antique cars-type ride like Tomorrowland Speedway, but an actual racing track with racing karts. Too bad there's no practical way for the last-place driver to throw a blue shell and take out the leader.
  22. What else would he audition for? Drums?
