  1. I'm still holding out a small amount of (maybe unrealistic) hope that they'll extend this show another week for all of the people who take advantage of the bring-a-friend days. My mom really wants to see this show, but can't justify paying $38 to get in when she won't ride hardly anything. Please, Don?

  3. Coaster Crew posted a video late last night of Falcon's Fury testing yesterday, with full drop and full tilt. Check it out:
  4. Apparently Carowinds had packages hand-delivered to area media outlets by a person in a beekeeper outfit, per their Twitter: https://twitter.com/CarowindsPark/status/497051880166797313/photo/1
  5. Similar, maybe a little higher price. I haven't paid attention to the prices in the past since I have a Gold Pass, but I'd guess around $25 to $35. Probably cheaper online than at the gate, as usual.
  6. Neither the all-day nor all-season dining plans include beverages, so that's not a problem (and in a way that eases the issue of tipping; most patrons with dining plans will already be reaching for their wallet or purse to pay for drinks, so it's natural to throw in a tip as well). Appetizers and desserts could simply not be included, or perhaps the dining plans could include choice of one appetizer OR one dessert. The point here is that it can be done. They would just have to work out the details.
  7. We know that. I'm proposing a way to include it in the future.
  8. Fair point. Disney doesn't seem to have a problem with that, though it's a different demographic. I would suggest one of two things: either make that clear to the guest, both verbally and on the check, or simply include the tip in the plan (Disney does the latter at one of their character dining experiences).
  9. At least as of August 2012, the unlimited pass was available for sale to the public at the parks (but not online). I know this as I inquired at Guest Services about upgrading my one-time-per-attraction pass that I had purchased online to unlimited, and was told that I could do so for the difference in price. I ended up not doing it because I didn't need it due to low crowd levels, but it is, or at least was, available to the public in-park.
  10. At food stands, that is correct, unless you have a souvenir cup. However, there are also a few standalone $1 drink stands, where drinks are apparently $1 for everyone. I walked up to one and was given a large (32oz) cup for $1 (tax included). My receipt from that purchase says "souvenir refill", even though I did not have a souvenir cup, but I got the impression that they were indeed $1 for everyone there and that the "souvenir refill" button was just a convenient way of charging a dollar.
  11. Come on, no chance of an extra week? Pretty please?
  12. It is expensive when you have the season dining plan and a tight budget. I have both, and have to choose between several places where I can eat for free or paying $15 to eat at the Reds Grille. Guess which one I'm going to choose? I think a major improvement could be made to the season dining plan by including the Reds Grille. If higher cost is an issue preventing that, then perhaps they can require you to spend both meals from your daily allotment to eat there (not unlike Disney's Signature Restaurants that require two meal entitlements for a single meal). All-day dining plan users might be required to "recharge" for a longer time before their next meal (3 to 4 hours instead of 90 minutes).
  13. People can still look over your shoulder when you actually open the locker.
  14. How do I petition Kings Island to extend it for an extra week? I'm likely going to bring my mother on the 19th or 20th using the bring-a-friend deal, and I know she would love to see this show. But she can't justify paying ~$35 for admission when she won't ride anything. I'm sure many people thinking about the bring-a-friend deal would love for their friends to be able to see this amazing show.
  15. Showtimes typically change (and some shows stop) when 8:00pm closes start. Expect a new, updated showtime brochure to be released on the 11th. Which may or may not include Cirque Imagine.
  16. The park has had bring-a-friend deals on late August weekdays a few years ago, and they have not resulted in noticeably larger crowds. I know this as I have taken advantage of the deals on these days in the past (and may do so again this year). Having them on multiple consecutive days will also help spread out any additional visitors, rather than everyone showing up on the same day.
  17. The park posted a really neat picture of Lightning Run on Facebook with the caption "Lightning Run provides lightning quick speeds, twisting turns and drops that will electrify your senses!". The top comment: "And it will also make your boobs fly out of your shirt while your hands is up:(" wut?
  18. SPACEBALLS! ...er, um, sorry. We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion.

  20. If you mean single-day admission, Saturday tickets are typically the same price as regular summer tickets. Tickets for Fridays and Sundays, those days being essentially half days compared to Saturdays, are usually priced significantly lower.
  21. ^ Thankfully, I've forgotten the tune to that song, or else I'd have the blasted thing stuck in my head again now.
  22. I'm pretty sure that the "leaked" site listed it under "Mazes" and not "Fear Zones".
  23. Probably part of the stock template used for the cups chain-wide, to account for the fact that Knott's Berry Farm is open year-round. I doubt it's worth the effort to tweak the expiration date for each park individually. Plus if something highly unusual happens (e.g. a natural disaster forces the park to close for the last scheduled weekend), they can tack on an extra day or extra weekend without the cups "expiring" before then (as they would if the date listed was the originally scheduled closing day). EDIT: Plus what faeriewench said.
