  1. According to Screamscape, InvadR will be re-using Gwazi's trains along with the lift chain and other accessories. I'm pretty stoked they decide to re-use the trains so that we can ride a piece of history (as Gwazi is an "Edge of the Millennium" coaster (1999))! EDIT: Link: http://www.screamscape.com/html/busch_gardens_williamsburg.htm EDIT2: I don't think the lift chain is actually being used, but other parts of Gwazi are; my apologies.
  2. 10 more days! :)

  3. True, true; I didn't think about that, Terpy. Remember the sheep that were allegedly branded with The Smiler logo? Yeah...
  4. I will be starting off my 2016 season on a ride on The Bat. I used to start with this ride when I was little and I think I love it even more with the new color scheme. Afterwards, it'll may be Banshee or another nearby ride; who knows?
  5. Less than 2 weeks (13 days) until Kings Island opens for the 2016 season! :)

  6. Diamondback is currently testing. Will be checked Banshee webcam to see what else is testing today EDIT: Banshee is currently testing as well... 13 more days!
  7. bkroz, I did not know that the reason why California Screamin' had "tunnels" was to deafen the noise of screamers; I just thought it was a unique part of the ride that made it look cool!
  8. Sorry to double post (sorta)... but, I just thought of something... I know that we as a community (at least some of us) understand the value of real, actual roller coasters and rides as opposed to VR technology (not just headsets, but the idea that VR itself could replace coasters within a simulator-like construct), but I really hope the GP gets it. I mean, I think (I hope! ) we are light years away from that type of technology, but you never know. -MDMC, sounding like a conservationist...
  9. Agreed, I can watch all the POV's of rides I'd like to go on and off-ride videos of my favorite rides, but it will never compare to actually physically riding the rides and being in the actual environment. Here is a great example: When The Boyz are Back ended their run after the 2014 season, I enjoyed watching the show via Youtube, but it just wasn't the same. There's just something about being there that is better than any screen can provide (well, unless it's Spongebob/insert motion simulator attraction here).
  10. I don't remember if I was allowed to choose my seat when I rode with the employee; I just paid for myself when I got my ticket as I was told of the policy change when boarding the ride (I didn't know this prior to getting in line). The comfy-ness questions are somewhat subjective (I don't really remember how comfy the seat was, it's been a while), but I believe that the staff buckles your restraint (you can ask them to tighten the restraint, I believe). From there, you just face the sky, prepare to launch, and have fun!
  11. In answer to your questions, Yes and maybe. As far as I know, there was a change in policy where you can no longer ride Slingshot solo. However, I did get paired with an employee for my ride. Hope this helps
  12. Oh, I know the sign is not part of Six Flags's VR coasters, Goble I'm just bummed as I really wanted to ride Galactica when it was Air (or at least ride it without a VR headset) as Air was the first ever B&M flyer. Oh well... -MDMC, who thinks he'd be better off visiting an island with a Collossal Slammer when he gets around to visiting the UK
  13. I just realized something... maybe that Facebook post was an April Fool's Joke? If so, they really got me good!!! EDIT: Those pics look pretty convincing though; photoshopped, perhaps? I don't know...
  14. Seriously?!?!?!? I thought AT specifically said that the VR headgear was optional on Twitter...and why the change now, I wonder? -MDMC, not a happy camper about this and glad that Six Flags makes their VR experinces optional.
  15. Just watched The Bat test and it was beautiful! 15 days... EDIT: I also see one of Diamondback's trains just chillin' on the block/turnaround before the station
  16. Interesting, I believe both Dorney and Carowinds has done this as well with some of their slides. Curious to see how this'll work for Sidew- er, Thunder Falls since there are 2 slides; will one side be FL and one side regular line? And how will getting the tubes at the slides exit work now? I guess we'll find out when Soak City opens up.
  17. Welp, there goes that Dive coaster space! The Storm drain location (#6) was where I had the dive coaster in the RCT2 version of (P)/CGA. Also, I too am intrigued about the water coaster. The question is, will it be a) a true water coaster, not unlike the coaster formally known as Buzzsaw Falls or something like Divertical in Italy, b- a "Water coaster" like Aztec Adventure at The Beach Waterpark or the one at Great Wolf, or c) a giga (or other type of coaster) with a splashdown element? Hmm... Also, so much other stuff to talk about, like Boomerang Bay expansion, climb and play area (Sounds like the Climbing structure at KI in the mid '90s) and Dinosaurs Alive. Also, Vortex floorless seems to be semi-confirmed as well as new movies for the theater... but just what is Hetch Hetchy? TL:DR- Good stuff and lots of possibilities and questions about the bright future of California's Great America!
  18. Yes, indeed it is! That just means they are one step closer to opening the park! EDIT: Also, I'm seeing The Bat is halfway up the lift and that something looks to be blowing onto the Banshee cam! 16 days
  19. Yes! Off the Charts is coming back to The Bandstand (as it was formally known as Playlist Live)!
  20. ....When you are looking at the webcams hoping to see rides testing. And when looking at said webcams, you get excited when you see a truck or a person moving.
  21. Lovin' the video; thanks for posting! I know Storm Chaser is all steel, but my brain somehow thinks it's wooden and relates it to Son of Beast! SC might just be my first RMC!
  22. 2015 was pretty. freakin'. epic. Breakfast + work + night rides after my shift= amazingness! 2014 was crazy too because of the crowds (I believe I worked in Action Zone on Opening Day that year?) due to Banshee's arrival. And 2009 was nice because a 10 minute wait for the new coaster (Diamondback). Other than that, no other Opening Days truly stick out to me.
  23. As for last year's Haunt, it was a blast. I visited Sam first as per tradition (for those who don't know/aren't familiar, Sam the Butcher is XGatorHead8904 aka Gator's alter ego that lives in Slaughter House) and did Carnevil as I did in 2014. I also tried 2 new mazes, Madame Fatale's and Delta Delta Die (which has since been renamed Sorority House- it was renamed the weekend after I went through, in fact!) and thos were both interesting; Delta was the scarier of the two imo). I hope to go more times this coming season and maybe try some other mazes (I've not tried Blackout, Urgent Scare, Wolfpack, Backwoods Bayou or Tombstone in it's current incarnation).
