  1. I can't imagine them doing this. This Haunt thing seems to be temporary, so I don't think it'll be on par with Massacre Manor or Slaughter House. Or even Wolf Pack (my favorite Haunt as of last season, actually)
  2. The Beast has friends? ... I'm so jealous! It's good to see that The Beast is internationally known and praised.
  3. ^In regard to Hogwarts, I loved how you know that the castle is relatively small in terms of scale, but you still are tricked into believing it is a full scale replica of Hogwarts, just on a hill (perspective). IoA does an incredible job with everything they do, and I can't believe it took me so long to experience it! I agree with LongliveKingsCobra, the ride and/or area has to make me feel as though I am in that setting, or else it just doesn't work. Flight of Fear does an ok job with the theming, they even have real government equipment (computers, monitors, etc!)! I just wish they cleaned the mirror. A LOT.
  4. If the parking lot is small, why did we have trams before?
  5. Not only is that against park rules, annoying, among others, but also against Ohio state laws.
  6. Not all teens are roudy. I'm a teenager thank you very much, and I go to Kings Island with a well behaved group. We get put into a generalized group with all the rambunctious teens, so they don't notice that we're well behaved.
  7. Really? An inverting Delirium? Unpopular ride through the Congo? Pah! I went on a weekday and it had a line throughout most of the day. And how exactly is a gyro drop, an inverting roller coaster, a swinging roller coaster, and a thrilling pendulum outdated?
  8. This goes under "Online Coaster Enthusiast says the Darnest Things"... I was convinced that Vortex was purple. Flight of Fear's UFO is obviously a full sized UFO. Firehawk's paint looks exactly like it did in 2007! et cetera.
  9. How do the pallettes of beverages get to the park, and how fast? I doubt you could go to your local Sam's and buy up all their pallettes, plus stock room in the back.
  10. Since it would be CCI, I think that Son of Beast would have been a lot more compact and fun. It probably would have been rough, but not too rough? I'm not too familiar with CCI's to be honest. I need to get out more.
  11. I never said The Crypt didn't have its problems. It did. I also never said that we would get an even bigger and thrilling Giant Top Spin in 2015... Everyone knows that's coming in 2016!
  12. Amusement- 1. Islands of Adventure 2. Kings Island 3. Geauga Lake 4. Six Flags Great America/Dollywood/Magic Kingdom. Can't decide. 5. Busch Gardens Williamsburg 6. Busch Gardens Tampa 7. Universal Orlando Waterpark- 1. Soak City 2. Castaway Bay
  13. ^I think our "What's Next for Son of Beast" topic should go on for at least a few more thousand posts before a decision is made.
  14. WHAT?! I thought we were getting a gigastratamegahyper coaster next year that launches 20 miles per hour and goes up 17,000 feet in the air! Now I'm dissappointed.
  15. I was looking forward to posting the pictures and report here, actually. Thanks, standbyme!
  16. Because Son of Beast worked so well.
  17. I'm actually against the adding of tv's in the queue for rides. We just got rid of Skyline Chilivision or whatever it was in The Beast. Let's keep it that way. I think Adventure Express should get all of its theming back. Many of it was taken away for almost no apparent reason other than "It needed to be maintained" or "It costs money (no!) to run it". Heck, even if we didn't get all of it back, key things would be wonderful. I would die if some fog or maybe mist (reseal the tracks with a better seal--Diamondback's splashdown comes to mind), the moving spears in the ceiling of the second tunnel, lights lighting up the set in the first tunnel, the station master spiel in the station, the volcano tunnel (third tunnel) looked like a volcano (fog?, red lights), etc all came back. Seriously. This ride seems underrated and just "another ride at Kings Island" to most people. I don't think the water will ever come back to Backlot. But at least fill the "splashdown" with water like they did in 2010.
  18. Not necessarily a ride-op, but a food service cashier. She was absolutely hilarious, I'm sorry I didn't get her name. But she said stuff like "You are at... 1 star! That's amazing! I wish I was like you!"
  19. Maverick and I305 look more interesting like that for some reason (especially the second half of Maverick). I can see where everyone's coming from, but what happened with the launch mechanism for the Hulk?
  20. ^I'm sure that would be the initial consensus at first. It's like if we got an S&S Drop Tower (like the drop side of Power Tower @ Cedar Point). People here would say "It's just like Drop Tower!" I mean, yeah, in a sense that's somewhat true, but hey. It's just an example!
  21. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2160197/If-today-s-rollercoasters-leave-feeling-queasy-look-away-1900-s-thrill-seekers-risked-life-limb-rickety-rides.html
  22. Oh yeah! I completely forgot that Claude and Walter came from Intamin! And don't forget, B&M has Incredible Hulk, which technically launches.
  23. We should all raise money to save the Big Dipper! In all seriousness, the Big Dipper was really fun. I went to Geauga Lake once with my family, and I remember marathoning the Big Dipper over and over and over and over again with my sister. That was the only memory I have of Geauga Lake, other than walking across the lake on a wooden walkway (I have no idea when this was--could've been under SIX, Premier, or FUN. I don't know!). I hope someone can breathe life into it again, it's a classic and iconic roller coaster with many memories.
  24. I see what you're saying, Korn, but B & M have gone out of their comfort zone a few times. When was the last time Intamin made a flying coaster, a dive coaster, or similar? I know B & M has patents on each design, but why doesn't Intamin make an effort to make a similar design? We all know Intamin offers a diverse range of products, but B&M has a tried and true business model. When was the last time that Diamondback didn't build up a long line on a busy Saturday?
