I would love for something similar to The Crypt making a return. They can keep the queue and use it as the actual queue, and use just the former ride chamber for the Haunt attraction. Also, why not blare the "Dream is Collapsing" score that used to play during the ride? Or maybe "Mombasa" by the same composer (Hans Zimmer-- Also made for Inception, the movie the queue, loading, and ride music belongs to).
The attraction would be called "Curse of the Crypt". They can use the existing lights, soundtracks, doors, et cetera. However: There's some things I would do if I was in charge:
In the queue, I would play "We Built Our Own World" (the same music from The Crypt's queue). Everything would stay the same, except outside. I would relight the blue lights that shone out of the ground to serve as uplighting to the cave entrance, and try and trim back the brush enough to relight the flames (if that's not possible due to Diamondback's close proximity, then so be it). I would also change some red light filters to greens and blues (but only some--there would be red, blue, and green lights in the queue). Leave the former monkey room the same (skeletons climbing out, red and blue accents), but also add a strobe light here and there.
On to a somewhat major change: In between the monkey room and preshow room, I would set up a manually operated swinging door with walls built up around it (similar to the preshow -> ride chamber doors we saw last season) and have the preshow video area set up the same way it was in 2011. Add the strobe lights on the dog demons like there were earlier, and switch the soundtrack from the queue (We Built Our Own World) to the loading music (Radical Notion). This area will be used as a staging area and the lines to be used in the attraction will be in a conga line formation, therefore you can keep the rows from the defunct gondola.

The Haunt
For the Haunt attraction, I would play the song "Mombasa" or "Dream is Collapsing" (the former ride music) and put it on a loop, so the Haunt will have a soundtrack. We also already own the rights to the three Inception pieces, so it would make sense to use Dream is Collapsing during the experience. Anyways, you would have an ADA approved ramp (
) take you down to the floor of the building. The whole Haunt would take place there. If it were me, I would have the mini bridges raised during the ride cycle and lowered for loading/unloading still intact with power supplied to them. I always thought they made a pretty cool sound when the raised up. These could raise at some point during the Haunt (I know, they serve no purpose).
Durga would be lit up with the water light that was behind The Bat demon last season and a couple other red and blue lights. I always thought that was cool the way they [somewhat] synched up the ride, music, and lights together. I'd also remove the black paint from the goddess' eyes and light them up red or green.
The ride would be themed to an Egyptian tomb. There would be many archways and sandstone blocks everywhere, and many scare actors would be dressed up as mummies and decaying pharaos. The story line could be that you were caught by the goddess [insert name here] and are trying to escape her pyramid without losing your lives. Red lights would be pointed towards the lava pits that would be filled with water to make it look like blood, then you realize that it is the blood pit, where your blood goes if you are caught and killed.
----
Do I think that will happen? Heck no. Would I die if that happened? YES!
I think that if done right, this new Haunt in the building could turn out spectacular. Likewise, if done poorly, it'll be as bad as Tombstone Terrortory (or worse).

But without KCKC leaving us, your "Baby" would not be here.
Eh, I'm a bit weird around the edges.

...Wow... Up until this thread, I thought that all parks had FUN with Coca-Cola... I'm really out of the loop...

If you guys haven't done so already, subscribe to their email list. It's quite interesting, plus you get the first clues about future attractions (hence how I got this).

I'm sure Backlot could fit in quite comfortably in tsaeB fO noS's space, or in Thunder Alley (remember, there's also the left over King Cobra land that has sat, unused by Delirium).

The most annoying thing I've found to happen from Fast Pass, beyond the added wait time on already busy rides, is the Red Racer being ran entirely for Fast Pass and no one else. We were there for a short time over the weekend, and I had read on here that the Red Racer was running great this year, much better than the Blue. When I went to go ride it, I was told I could not because I did not have a Fast Pass. The Blue Racer line was out the gate up to the convenience store, while the Red train was sending maybe half full trains out each time.
So now, Fast Pass entitles you to a ride that the rest of the park cannot access, apparently! I felt that was very ridiculous, and voiced my disagreement as such at Guest Relations. An entire coaster now, just for Fast Pass? No thanks.

When both sides of The Racer are operating, both sides are open to the public 99.5% of the time. The former Red Racer line is now no longer in use, but you can still ride either side. I doubt the park would close a side of Racer only for the use of Fast Lane* customers.
Well, you are wrong. On Saturday, they were running te Red Racer for only Fast Lane customers. I was told I could not ride it because I did not have a Fast Lane bracelet. I don't know what to tell you. Were you there on Saturday? Because I was, and they were running the Red Racer for only Fast Lane customers.
Let me get this straight: On a typically busy day of the week, the park only opened one side of a ride to the public to decrease capacity. Yeah. THAT makes sense.
This guy spells troll.
Are you serious? I am telling you specifically what I experience on Saturday. I am a Gold Pass member. I've been to the park 8 times this year already. Why would I troll and make up some fantastical story about the place I love? Good grief. It happened, I don't care if anyone else on this board speaks up or not. I experienced this, and you can feel free to go ask the Guest Relations about the complaint I filed about this.
It happened to me at approximately 1:00 pm on Saturday, the 14th, shortly after the rains had stopped. Myself and my fiance' went to The Racer and saw the Red Racer running. We attempted to get onto it, and were told specifically by the attendant running the ride that it was for Fast Lane only, and that we could not ride as we did not have a bracelet. We were then told we had to now go to the back of the line, which was enornously long by this point. As I stated, it was running halfway down the basketball game and nearly to the convenience store.
I really do not care if some random goof on this board believes me or not. I am just stating my own grievance with the system, which kept me from riding an entire coaster, the same grievance I filed with Guest Relations.
I'm done here, however. Being called a troll for this is just ludicrous.
Well, I guess troll was a tad harsh. Sorry, but if you wanted to ride The Racer, you could get pretty close by riding Diamondback!

^Drop Tower was up yesterday. I don't know why, but it's been making some strange noises lately. I don't know what that's about, so would anyone want to shed light on this matter?
I don't know what's wrong with Shake Rattle & Roll, but was sorely dissappointed to find it was on the list of rides that wouldn't open. It might be routine maintenence or something, but I don't know.

Steal, erm, permenantly borrow Flying Eagles.

The crane is most likely theirs. Same way the lift by Invertigo is theirs. It is most likely used for construction and inspections.
The crane was up the entirety of the day yesterday, and the floors have been lowered.

Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun don't have much coasters to boast to me it seems, therefore I would have gone with those two.
PS, who has Prowler? Worlds of Fun? In that case, then maybe... Gee I dunno, I guess I'm stumped! We might not see this in a FUN park for all I know!

I can't access the article. Says I need to be a member to read it.
This does not spell good publicity to the park. I wonder why they didn't go with someone more "reliable" like Intamin (dare I mix those two words together!)? I've certainly never heard of Moser prior to the construction, and that speaks to me.
-
Dang, that thing looks intense! For the minute that you're riding, it sure looks like a fun one!
I would hope something like this comes to a place like WoF or Valleyfair! maybe.
Thanks for posting!

I voted for a Family Style Launch, Giga (more like Millennium Force or Intimidator 305), Standing, Hyper, Terrain, Suspended Coaster and a Dive Machine.

It seems as if all of our HUSS rides are doing poorly. First The Crypt, then Delirium, now Shake Rattle & Roll? I'm surprised HUSS hasn't gone bankrupt again. Why do parks still seem to buy their rides?
Also, why hasn't a Delirium been made from HUSS? (I won't even ask why a Land of the Giants hasn't been made!)
-
Would anyone shed some light so as to why Shake Rattle & Roll was/is down?
-
Well, at Kings Island, they kinda are the Scrambler and Monster, and WAS Troika.
I've heard some ride ops say "Where Thrills Connect!" this season.

Was this Pepsi Guy the 4 cousin, twice removed from the Dippin' Dots family?

We could be discussing the Mayan Calander, and SoB would find it's way into the conversation.I had one last week, and I thought it would be mentioned here soon.
I saw a calendar earlier this year. "2012: Mayan Calendar of FUN!"

Many "staple" rides have left us in place of others. We have lost rides like the 'Tiques, Flying Eagles, KCKC, etc. Change is good for the soul, yet not always a favorite.

-
ohiocolts, nice catch! If I were to remove a ride, it would be Viking Fury. Replacement? Der Spinning Keggers!
-
I would say early/middle in the week.
I find that Maverick is just much more thrilling in the front. Once you do, you'll realize. It's just... Something about it.
-
Weekdays. Definitely.
Also, ride Mantis. Make sure you stand above the bicycle seat, and you'll have a great ride. I think you should try and ride maXair, only because of the different views of the midway, and because you haven't ridden Delirium in a long while. Also ride DISpatch mASTER TRANSPORT while you can. I also find Iron Dragon a relaxing ride, and the second half is very fun.
Ride Maverick in the front seat, or else it's not worth your time. If you waited 2 hours, what's 5 more minutes gonna hurt? I also heard Mean Streak is incredible this year, and Blue Streak is still offering great air time.
I don't know if anyone else wonders this, but if anyone "In the Know" knows the answer to this, but how does Wicked Twister's launch work? I don't understand how the same magnets launch and brake both ways.
Don't forget to eat at Pink's and Johnny Rockets!
Other than that, have a FUN day!
EDIT: Also, if you get ERT and Maverick is offered, make sure you knock that out if your list right away. If not, try getting to a ride for ERT that is near Maverick, then head straight to that 'Timmy in the back of the park. Also, if you should accept ERT, don't expect walk ons. You'll still wait for awhile.

Not Kings Island Delirium, this Delirium!
