On the topic of ADA Regulations (and thus is completely off topic), but in theory, couldn't the International Restaurant be utilized by the public as a full-scale restaurant? If it was built prior to the new code, it goes by the old code from which it was built, therefore it does not need a ramp or a complete accessible elevator. One of my middle schools works like that (the other 2 middle schools don't have any stairs--new ADA Regulations), as does our high school (no elevators, ramps, just stairs).
I know, completely off topic, but it's something that has bothered me for awhile.

I've been temporarily stopped on Flight Deck's lift before, and stopped in the station on Adventure Express because someone had their phone out on the ride. "Please put away your phone." "..." "Sir, please put away your phone." "..." "Man in the red shirt, put away your phone!" "Uh, I'll have to call yeh back..."
EDIT: I completely forgot about a Delirium problem too. I had the same problem as Oldiesmann. Thanks for reminding me!

Me did not. Sure wish I coulda grew years prior, but alas, I did not.
As I understand, the worst year to hit the ride was 2007. Frequent break downs, broken effects (sparks, techno rays, black light paint, water shut off). Keep in mid, this ride was under FUN, not Paramount.
I find it fun to wonder what could have been. Come 2011, would Tomb Raider: The Ride be in a worse shape than in 2005? Would it be operational, even? Would it be worth a ride, or just a "Well, I guess I'll ride for a count..." kinda ride?
The Crypt was fun. That's what it was, never meant to be thrilling IMHO. The hang time against the OTSR's was enough "thrill" for me.
I would go into better detail (as if anyone cared), but an iPad isn't my preferred method of type.

Gee, I don't know whether to Like that post or hate it! I may have an unhealthy love for the late Crypt.... =P
EDIT: If I had a dislike button, I would definitely dislike jdawg's post a billion times.

Holy poop, only 5 rides? What if my favorite ride is Adventure Express, or The Crypt?
-
KIC, CWMania, Screamscape occasionally, and KIExtreme occasionally.
-
I prefer the outside filled first, because I can judge the wait. Also, just ask the Ride Op outside. They're always happy to help!

3. Rob Pottorf, playing the Tomb Raider and Flight of Fear music live with an entire symphony!
That concert would be over in half an hour.
Not if he conducts at 5 BPM!
-
I'm surprised how much activity there is here early on in the morning!
I love Diamondback. I've never been scared of any ride, and this was no exception. Rides are heart pounders or pure fun, just not scary. I'm glad it's the only roller coaster at Kings Island not to have a seat belt!
EDIT: I also lost my flip flop on Diamondback...At the brake run...
-
Please try to take pictures and have fun at Indiana Beach!

i think every job at KI should be pushed up to being 2 years older. ex. ride op assistant should be at least 18 and not 16. I feel like none of the staff cares really about what happens in the park.
You think so? I've met a few Kings Island ride-ops who actually care about the guests and their safety. Granted, they aren't 16 (but has anyone met a ride-op who is?).
-
Guns N Roses aren't together anymore, thus not making them eligable...
EDIT: But I would say:
1. Disturbed
2. Metallica
3. Rob Pottorf, playing the Tomb Raider and Flight of Fear music live with an entire symphony!

You say rides... They say simulators!
-
Vortex is one of the best rides to grey out on.
Crypt, who greys out on Flight Deck... And I think once on The Crypt!

Ohiocolts, please make a TR every time you go to the park. I love your enthusiasm, love for the park and your family, and your description. I'm glad you joined this site, or there would be something big missing.
I also love that there are many Crypt items still out there! You know what I'll be buying next time I'm at the park!

From Canada's Wonderland's Backlot Stunt Coaster Youtube video:
"Canada's Wonderland let this ride go...weeds everywhere and they even programmed it to skip the helicopter scene. Kings Dominion and Kings Island still have the scene with the fire and fog. The two maintained the "Hollywood Backlot" theme much better."

-
Yes. Flight of the Valkeryes (or however you spell it) still plays, the machine guns fire as well as the fire, and the LED's are working. We have the same new police sirens as last year, as well.
GYK, I just looked up a recent POV taken 3 days ago from Kings Dominion (to see what it's like), and my God do we have it good! They have 2 police cars (no third), minus the sirens, and the helicopter arm is snapped back, and at the MCBR, it's just a "stop and look at what was!". Also, you won't believe this, but there's a comment saying:
"Actually, some of the effects still work. During busier days, Kings Dominion still turns on the helicopter attack (with sound effects), fog covering the tunnel, fire from gasoline pumps, and large fire above the tunnel. It's one of the only parks to retain most of it's effects."
Bolded for emphasis. Meanwhile, I'm just facepalming.

People here spell Delirium "Delerium". It bothers me too.
Same thing with how people spell Zephyr. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've seen "Zeypher" or "Zypher" and the likes.
