Did the freestyle by the train station open yet?
-
During Coaster mania at Cedar Point, I brought it up to the lady in charge of marketing that Kings Island should sell the Giant poster size park maps that they sell at Cedar Point for $2.00. I told her I would pay $5- $10 Just for that. Anyone else collect park maps? Also has anyone noticed them in the gift shops yet?

This is a little random, but here it goes. If they ever decide to put new music in the shed, my request would be to play Michael Jackson song, Beat it. I think it fits the theme because two times they warn you don't go in the shed. What do you guys think?

^ Before they came out with the new bottle less plan this year, I used to fill it up and take it on the train and they never said a word to me about it. Not to say that I did it all the time, but I must have been lucky I guess.

After visiting Coaster stock two weekends ago, I was blown away! Me and my friends had a blast from the morning to the evenings. My only complaint was the Thunderstorm activity that had to roll in on that Saturday night. Booo! Mystic Timbers is easily a new top 5 roller-coaster for me at Kings Island. I wish my brother and dad were able to ride. They would love this new addition to Kings Island. Great ride Kings Island. I loved the ride from start to finish. I love the shed too; and speaking of which I had a question about that for anyone who knows. If they ever have to take a train off the track for a short period of time, where in the shed do they transfer it over to? I was curious about that during coaster stock.

Kings Island needs to actually have the Freestyle shack over by the train station open. Everytime I go to Kings Island, this location is never open. That's my only complaint to Kings Island.

Just using my imagination in this topic, but what if The Beast was built by GCI? Would it be more bada** than it is today? I just thought I would ask that since I was browsing through this topic.

Thanks man. I tried using Wikipedia, but couldn't find that.

Quick question. Who made this ride? Still a great water flume in my opinion.

Thanks man! I've seen that your in school too. Where do you go? Sorry Admins for getting off topic here. I'm just excited about finally passing a class that I have struggled with throughout my college career.

I'm so happy that Coaster stock is coming next week. I just got my results back from my college and passed both classes. I have 3 more classes to go before graduation! Time to celebrate!

Well I just wanted to start off by saying preview night was insanely busy! I've never seen the parking lot so full in my life! When I saw the line on Friday night, it was 3-4 hour wait. I said no way and waited until opening day the next day. The next day first thing, me and my sister jumped in line right away. We waited 2 hours which was well worth the wait. Everyone will laugh when I say this, but wouldn't it have been funny if they had the props in the haunt operational while waiting for Mystic Timbers? It would be like Halloween in April.....lol. Anyway, the line moved real fast at first then as we arrived to the main queue, it was moving at a turtle pace. Fast forward to the theming before the ride; I love the theme that interacts with the ride itself. The sheltered queues actually made me think it was the shed part 1 in a funny way. As we we're on the stairwell, I felt like I had new picture opportunities of Race for your life Charlie Brown. Getting into the station was really set-up well. I liked how it was designed to only allow a certain amount of people in the station at a time so you don't clutter in there like sheep. Cedar Point has this problem with Raptor and Millennium Force. Anyway, moving onto the ride experience.
Going up the hill and smelling new chain grease and wood was something that made me feel good about riding right away. As we went down the hill, I actually bit my lip because the acceleration of Mystic Timbers took me by surprise. I would say that's how the whole ride went was fast! I will say that Mystic Timbers lives up to it's hype with the airtime hills and speed. In my opinion, it felt like Voyage, but went through the course similar to Maverick. I loved the speed of this ride the most! The shed, I'm not sure If I'm allowed to give away hints about it now or not so I won't. I will say the shed was really cool how it interacts with the whole train. The music they played in there was in my head the rest of the day. I forget the artists name, but the song was called total eclipse of the heart. Overall, I give Mystic Timbers an A+! Great Job Kings Island, the pr team, and the construction crew who worked countless hours day after day getting this ride ready in time for opening weekend.

From the construction views, all that needs to be done is concrete work around the entrance to the ride. Everything else is looking fantastic! Any idea if Mystic Timbers will make you get a locker?

What exactly does that red sign say in the queue? I couldn't make it out?

Is it just me, or does it seem like the MV RR won't have enough clearance underneath Mystic Timbers? Just curious.

Not to burst anyone's bubble here, but I like the new park map. I really hope they take my suggestion into consideration. That was, bring in park maps that you can buy for $1.00-$2.00 like Cedar Point does. The one's that cover up a good portion of the wall like Fatheads do of sports players or stadiums. I want to add that to my wall.

I wrote a review on Kings Island's official facebook page of why I love coming to the park over and over again. I grew up going to Kings Island with my whole family. We used to go camping at the Jellystone/Kings Island campground for a few days as well as go into the park for a few days. What I enjoyed the most as a kid was interacting with the Hannah Barbara characters; Yogi Bear was my favorite! I had a picture of me and Yogi at the campground, but it's lost somewhere now. Aside from the characters, I loved how back in the paramount days, every ride had a feel to the movies to them. I remember when The Bat was called Top Gun. I loved how they themed that to being in the movie with Tom Cruise and Kelly Mcgillis. The Beast has always been my favorite. When I was shorter, I had to learn how to brace myself for the out of control experience that The Beast throws at you. Still does, which is why it's still my number 1 roller coaster! I agree with what others said about the atmosphere that the park provides. I still get that chill in my body when I get into the Kings Island parking lot. It's sad that the campground is no longer there. I will always always remember our family camping fun we had after a long day in the park. It's also sad that Yogi Bear is no longer there, but on the other hand, I really love looking for Charlie Brown. He's a blockhead just like me.

^^ Pretty soon, it will say please don't disturb the operator. What's in the shed may come after you. Lol

I'm registered and ready to go for Coaster stock this May. I'm also registered for The Beast tour, but forgot what time I picked. Is there a way to check that on www.visitkingsisland.com/ ?

It's been a week since I posted last. Glad the last time I was on over the course of a week, my question was answered. Yay! Now I'm anxious to see what the front car looks like. As far as the hats go, I like the green one. No particular reason, just the fact that it's green. I know I'm weird. I'm hoping that one Mystic Timber shirt returns from last fall that was like black and greyish. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Do You Collect Park Maps?
in Kings Island
Posted
Well this lady, I forget her name, but she handles merchandise for all of Cedar Fair. She was at the Q & A at Coaster mania.
