  1. The wait times aren't as accurate, just a bit of a guess. I prefer the wait sign a frames at Cedar Point as those aren't so easily manipulated. Anyways when the rides get full queues are a good way for us to estimate the queue time. For instance corkscrew two train op had about a 1hr 30 min queue full, Gatekeeper has a 2hr 30min-3hr queue depending on final queue/stairs/station. Same thing for rides at KI, full queues allow you to figure out max wait time, then just divide it up. Also line speed varies depending on how the crew is reacting. I will say just after being at the park enough I can kinda tell a few lines, not all because I won't wait if there is a line. I will say I'm surprised the park hasn't implemented something similar to disney or CP. Our person at crowd or even supervision will issue out a piece of paper to the guest to give to the op on the unload side of the platform after the ride to get an accurate wait time for guests at that time to either adjust time, or guess throughput on busy days. Also for my crew our person at crowd (turnstile) would strike up conversations usually, and ask how long their wait was, ect. so see about how much people were waiting. Most accurate queue I will say so far has been FOF, that crew is really working the best this year, absolutely destroying lines so far. I have only seen one day where inside queues have been opened and used, other than that they really have busted through people.
  2. Please don't bring a Fiat to the park -___- Those things are toasters on wheels trying to be sassy with their little 1.4L turbo that's shared with Dodge now lol. Such a shame haha
  3. Lol it is true. But still, Gatekeeper is enough for CP fanboys for now, that brought alot of new life into the park with everything else that was brought back/brand new as well. There was alot more done other than just bringing in Gatekeeper. There was quite a bit of new life in the park for the 2013 season
  4. Pointbuzz isn't speculating because of just that. After a capital expenditure of that size there it has some time to settle. Next year I see nothing major coming other than maybe some new shows, new venues, ect. No new rides however. Pointbuzz is a little more calm/not as occupied with that stuff like this
  5. Yo mama so fat, she cant ride on Diamondback, which made the train stack darn a diss and a rhyme. rap career, I got this
  6. Like I said, are these eddy current brakes or not and are the actuated and moved by the plc...we need info to determine more haha
  7. Lol, I got no airtime, hate it Bro you can't fit Well my bro told me Faaaill
  8. With the ride being almost fully automated now and the PLC implementing most of the features, are they eddy current magnetic brakes (do not require power/friction) or do the brakes engage one queue from the PLC? If engaged they may be able to be over-ridden. For instance on mean streak, if the train is stopped in the transfers it engages the PLC to go into transfer run, which means empty train, which means no trims to complete the course. One neat little trick there, had that luxury a few times
  9. I was ganna say Maverick's restraints don't really get to me...Mantis is the only one that thrashes me enough to be done riding for a few minutes
  10. Nice report, I was there Sunday so it sounded just about the same, I still have yet to do my CP Trip Report lol...in due time I guess
  11. Anyone have pics of the menu? Can't find anything online
  12. Quick question. Looking at the new round of pics, do the triangle footers/couple other footers (see pics 7, 9, 10) have the holes cut into them that are like the Diamondback footers that were posted a few pages back or is that just water/something else sitting on them
  13. Also quick follow up to all the mean streak haters. I am one of you as well, but I must say this year I was fairly impressed. Rode red train, car two, row one, right seat, and honestly it wasn't bad. It's not enjoyable as it's lift hill is trimmed to oblivion and there is still some mad vibration in some of the turns, but it's actually very tolerable now. I came off unbeaten and unharmed, but also unthrilled.
  14. I see this as your face while typing said report at 4 Anyways awesome trip getting that much time to be at the park. I hope it honestly didn't get boring by the end Also why do you hate sky flyer
  15. For some reason this thread reminded me of this
  16. OMG it does! I always wonder, "what the **** did I....oooooooooooohh"
  17. There's been rumors for years stating that they'll take out the storage, maint sheds, and dorms on point to make room...those rumors are as old as the top gun final year/removal rumors
  18. Seriously dude...Maintenance isn't expensive on loopers..besides you really think corkscrew is next on the chopping block? I guess the 2011 station and track repaint, switch to two train operation, 1440 capacity, and still somewhat popular especially for families warrants its teardown...whatever arrows are not technically difficult for maintenance and really nothing crazy like an intamin
  19. Lol we're enthusiasts theres always a compliant I honestly look at the complaints and criticisms as a how is the park doing, what's going on. Like hey, db is stacking, wtf, what's going on. See what I mean. I think it just aggrivates people like us more because this is a ride that I shouldn't see stacking issues practically at all.
  20. The frustration is warrented man Here's the way I look, as enthusiasts we expect perfection as always, especially stuff like this. So we may seem *****y but it's because we know it's not at it's potential. Like I said, they did have some good problems, now just a few things left to iron out. I will say though, they need to spiel more haha. After a weekend at both parks, CP still takes the cake as per usual.
  21. Why must we quote eachother when it's the next reply down...Just an idea
  22. I was ganna say I rode raptor my one and only time this season, I love the curve, drop, and first loop, after that not too happy with the rest of the ride tbh. It's cool but not what I'm into. One ride all season is enough.
  23. I couldn't think of how to word it, they basically figured people wouldn't ride it or like it because of the name. You see what I'm saying though, CP goes a bit of the safe route for stuff, KI does go a bit over the line but I'm perfectly ok with that.
