This is kind of a nitpick with all the attention AZ got this off-season but there are still aircraft carrier/jet theming around The Bat and the old SOB queue area is very dirty and grungy. It looks out of place and run down.

End of Epic Roller Coaster
JTW replied to shark6495's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Also every coaster has somewhat of a gimmick to sell the idea to the public. Usually it's nothing more than the seating style, and it seems to come and go as trends and popularity shift. Most Arrow loopers were built in a relatively small time frame. As were most stand ups, and most inverts. Now wing riders are RMC rides are hot. I could continue. What's gimmicky that hasn't been thought of yet? A refined or new style 4G experience? More family orientated coasters based off companies larger designs? -
Dollywood. And it's 10 years old.

I think the next major renovation will be a sprucing up of Coney Mall including repainting of buildings, lighting, possibly music, and a couple flat rides. I wouldn't expect anything for a couple years though.

On a return trip this evening I requested row 8, and again ended up in the far right seat on the blue train. I loved the way the ride felt in the back but I sorely missed the view of the front row. I feel like both experiences are downright sublime with an edge to the front. -edit I again let myself dangle and take in the experience as my wife held on for dear life. With her hands firmly fixed to the bar I had more than enough room to let the ride have her way with me and toss me around. I wonder if that counts as an affair?

I've had one ride on Banshee, front row and far right on the blue train. Seeing as there was an empty seat between myself and a couple to my left I was able to let my arms dangle freely without interrupting anyone else's space. Floating throughout the ride was amazing, and it's very true that this ride doesn't let up. I feel like the most intense part was the lowest point of the batwing and it is forceful, I would actually call the level of forces almost perfect. I also really enjoyed the zero g roll and can't wait to try the back seat for comparison. I was skeptical of those who claimed Banshee has tossed Montu to the curb as far as what you could consider the gold standard of inverted coasters, however my early review does just that. This ride is world class and a huge win for Kings Island.

Even with stacking i haven't stood still very often.

It was at Viking Fury when I got in line 25 minutes ago. However I just entered the queue and nowhere near all lanes are open. By now I'd bet it's crazy at the front of the park though.

So much for offering an opinion. Back to my cave.
-
Allegedly. If it were as big of a deal as some are making it out to be, wouldn't the park have already acted to get the video removed? Or not, just offering another point of view.

Leaked, or viral marketing?

Was that really a quote from almost ten years ago or did I miss something else?

It looks like a lot of fun

Also, outdoor concerts tend to be very very loud and several housing developments have grown up around the park since the 90s.

Think about what the newest wooden ride at Kings Island is. How do you build something groundbreaking without being reminded of the last experiment of this nature? Do you play it safer with a less radical design? How safe is so safe that it becomes boring and less successful? Something I'm reminded of is Gwazi. The idea seems very cool. In reality it's not efficient whatsoever, and last I heard (rumor or not) there is a debate on whether it's worth keeping. The ride experience was not that great and I was sad I devoted a good portion of my day at that park to said ride.

Are you a fan of the musical Wicked?

There's a reason I've been posting less lately, not that I expect anyone to notice my lack of presence. I often roll my eyes when some members purposely break the rules, and 9 times out of 10 I don't say anything. Generally I only express my opinion on these matters when people demand they are entitled to rights and privileges that they most certainly are not. That's another argument, so continuing on... The arguing, bickering, complaining, and otherwise childish behavior has been ridiculous. The lack of respect for others has been a turn off also. If someone has information that they've been asked not to divulge then leave it be. On the same note, perhaps someone with that information shouldn't make it known and fish people. The reason Don left is the business of Don and possibly the park, but certainly none of any member of KIC's. Let it be. If we're meant to know, one day we will. If we're not, then things are as they should be. Also, to kind of put this back on the rails, I'm glad to see Banshee running again and I can hardly wait to ride.

Bingo. Wookieepedia (a Star Wars wiki that I am an admin on) has on a couple of occasions put in place and enforced an arbitrary rule that we normally wouldn't have because Lucasfilm or one of its affiliates asked us to. We chose to comply rather than get on their bad side, when they could easily shut down the entire wiki with one DMCA takedown notice. We now have a strong relationship with Lucasfilm, to the point where the pages on characters and other subjects on starwars.com now contain just brief summaries and link to their respective articles on Wookieepedia for "more information".Unfortunately, some users on KIC have chosen the opposite path, and the result is the current situation with Don being angry enough to have his account deleted. You're an admin of Wookieepedia eh? I've spent hours browsing articles there. Back to my cave...

KIC is privately owned and anyone who signed up had to agree to a certain set of rules, therefore this message board is not comparable to a free country. You could be banned for whatever reason the leadership of the site chooses, including no reason at all. That being said, I don't understand why any member of this board would be prohibited from posting media related to a new ride so long as it was attained legally.

I'm interested in this show. I'll see it at least once. If it's good, who knows how many times I'll go.
-
While at Kings Island or in general?
-
Yeah I found it much smoother in 2013 than previous years anyway. And I ride front seat on top of a wheel for the record.
-
...because you'll be free to go ride Banshee any day you choose.
-
I'll admit I've checked the forums more in recent days hoping to see news of trains running.

I can't wait to make it to this park.
