  1. very much agreed, Ouimet was an upgrade to DK. But I feel like his main concern has been shareholders. Always having record breaking attendance and profits, which is great. But yet coasters and rides that require TLC, i.e. Racers / Beast need paint and stain. Diamondback seats needing cleaned or replaced, animitronics needing replaced or repaired on BLSC. Water affects no longer working on The Beast or BLSC. Lights needing replaced all over. Food concession operations needing major overhaul. There are probably much more to add to this list. Granted Cedar Fair is not Disney, and I do not expect Disney like themeing, but at the very least have some pride in the parks.
  2. I don't know about anyone else but, Im more excited for the addition of Mystic Timbers than I was for Banshee.
  3. KD fans need to quiet themselves, Michigan's Adventure has had one coaster addition since 1999. And that was in 2008 with the addition of Thunderhawk, which was previously located at Geauga lake before it closed.
  4. My question is why did Hurler have to be closed for the entire season? Meanstreak is a much bigger coaster and yet remained operation till late in the regular season.. Cedar Fair has really thrown a wrench into the norm we are used to seeing.
  5. Narrow gauge trains are typically are cheaper to build and operate and also do not require as wide turns as a standard gauge track.. In my personal opinion i believe it had to due with the sheer size of the rolling stock of standard gauge that kept Disney away from using standard gauge. With Disney using optical illusions (forced perspective) of things being bigger than they are. I would not be suprise if they choose narrow gauge to play into that illusion that objects were bigger than they appeared because of the smaller size narrow gauge track and trains.
  6. Also one of the few John A. Miller coasters left. Sadly.
  7. At this point I'd rather see either Boo blasters be converted to a tritotech dark ride or the entire Boo blaster building removed for more flats or a kiddie coaster. The park is horrendous when it comes to maintaining animatronics. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I know there are many, including myself would have liked to see a new life for the Big Dipper. I think Coney Island would have made a great home for the classic coaster. They could rename the Big Dipper, "Sky Rocket". which was the original name of the Big Dipper and the name of a coaster that was once graced the Coney Island skyline.
  9. still up on the website, I'm assuming that means it's still a go. http://www.aceonline.org/events/
  10. The 91 year old, ACE Coaster Classic, will be demolished within a few weeks according to a Bainbridge county trustee. http://fox8.com/2016/10/07/big-dipper-roller-coaster-to-be-demolished/
  11. Yep..straight to the gift shop! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I don't care for the Sign, I'd much prefer the Classic one. But change can be good, hopefully with the little themeing touch ups details they do. They follow up with bigger projects on The Beast such as the track and supports being stained again and maybe the water effects returning to the chutes at the station.
  13. What if there is a uncooperative rider who doesn't follow the group? Is he/she left behind? Do the storm troopers carry them away?
  14. As mentioned before, a Gerstlauer sky roller called "Flight Commander" and restrooms would be a nice addition.
  15. The only reason one would vote B&M flyer is simply for the fact it is B&M.
  16. That just tells you the profit margins are huge, if I'm not mistaken Starbucks coffee is the same price outside of the park.
  17. Never had Tom and Chee before, i will definitely be giving it a try, and wash it down with a cold Moerlein Inversion beer. ( special brew for KI )
  18. Finally common sense prevails! It never made sense to have No Boo necklaces valid in a haunted maze thats sole purpose is to scare you.
  19. $5 dollars for the whole season is probably more than what they pay for the reusable cup. Plus the park would probably have to pay more for garbage removal.
  20. I'm the complete opposite I prefer and wait for the very backseat on coasters. Typically the lines are not as long and I feel like the very backseat gives a more out of control, forceful ride. Unlike the front seat we're it tends to be more scenic. Occasionally I'll wait for the front seat depending on my mood and what the line is looking like, but 9 out of 10 I'm getting in line for the very backseat.
  21. Cedar Fair have been holding their cards closely on Hurler at Kings Dominion. The ride was closed for the entire season for renovations and that's about all that was said of it. No announcements on what said renovations might be or whom is doing work on the coaster. Now Meanstreak is being removed by track rather than most wooden coaster demises including Son of Beast, which was getting ripped down by cables. I find it all strange.
  22. That would be a great fit, someone who can actually explain to me what TOS rule I broke rather than having a post removed and having no idea why.
  23. ___________________________ I highlighted a couple of your previous posts in what some consider spam. There were some decent discussion topics you brought up, which I appreciate. However, the random comments that do not make much sense should probably stop. I get it, you are excited. Many of us on this board are. We just enjoy having meaningful, thought-provoking discussions. The ' LOL WAT DID U SEE DAT CONSTRUCTION WERKER MOVE?' is not really needed in this forum. Best regards, HTCO Pretty much sums up KIC anymore, over my years of being a member I've come to realize that KIC is sort of a "Clique" you either share the same ideas or you're not welcomed. Its partially the reason I don't go to meet ups, my first and last one being Banshee construction behind of scenes tour, and I left early.
