1. ...at very high expense which most regional, seasonal parks and chains cannot afford or justify from a business perspective. Universal can do it because they are a major year-round tourist destination with way, way higher revenue than a Kings Island or other similarly-situated park. They spent a quarter of a billion dollars on the Harry Potter expansion that opened last year. Kings Island's largest investment to date into building a single attraction is less than 10% of that. That oughta give you a bit of a clue as to their relative budgets and spending capability. Tell that to this guy.
2. Like I've said before, steel coasters can be retracked.
3. The great news out of this article is that KK will be opening for the 2016 season. As far as food goes it's probably on par with KK's competitor in Mason Ohio.
4. "No boo" necklaces shouldn't be allowed, or recognized within mazes.
5. Now I wonder if track will also join that pile. B&M launch system?
6. I would love to see a Mack Wild Mouse coaster in the old Crypt building. If they utilities the theming already there and maybe give it a little more theming as a mine. it would fit soundly into the Rivertown area, and also cater to both adults and family. I think boo blaster would be better suited for a video game type dark ride.
7. "Hope" being the key word. As long as I use the dining plan enough times for it to pay for itself (which I easily do and then some), I will gladly take my business elsewhere if lines are that long. And if I leave the park to eat, that means they do not get money for the $4 soft drink I would otherwise buy with my meal, and they might even possibly lose a full-price meal from me (at least once this season, I have purchased an entree at Reds Grille not offered on the dining plan). Just because I've paid in advance doesn't mean that they don't need to keep me happy, because there is more money to be made from me, and I can and will take that money elsewhere if food service in the park is unacceptable. Jcoble3 hit this right on the head, I myself a season dining plan holder will not be renewing my plan for 2016. The issues with concessions have obviously, fallen on deaf ears. I am unwilling to waste my time, energy, and money with this plan.
8. I do hope that one day Cedar Fair will return to Intamin, they make incredible thrill rides.
9. This is great! I used the CP app to purchase tickets before, and the tickets were able to be scanned from the phone. It was very useful, no worry about losing the ticket or damaging the barcode. And of course no printing required! the fact I can do this now with a pass is fantastic! Now, hopefully they are developing a system that can speed up the real slow lines, like food concessions..
10. I can see this being installed at a Disney Park, and it will be very reliable and a huge success.
11. Cedair Fair should just move Shockwave to Worlds of Fun and call it a day.
12. I don't think we will see Vortex be removed for decades to come, if they do however remove it, a multi looping B&M floor-less coaster would suffice.
13. Coasterforce was given a behind the scene tour by the owner and mastermind behind RMC, Fred Grubb. Mr. Grubb showcases the "innovation" going on at RMC. Video in link: In my opinion tho wouldn't the square rails running along both sides of the beam make it a standard track like the conventional roller-coaster?
14. Welcome to KIC! For a first time coaster rider I would go with Adventure Express, for a first time visitor at the park, Flight of Fear or Firehawk, these coasters have the longest lines. It's a good idea to knock those out first, when visiting. The best coaster in the park in my opinion is The Beast. i highly suggest you ride twice once in the morning and once at night. Have fun!
15. So is it safe to say Mack Coasters are on the horizon for Cedar Fair chain?
16. The 2019 coaster renderings where already in place prior to Banshee being built. It will be a Mack giga coaster, that will utilize a cable lift which will easily clear Banshee. It will have the same trains that are currently used for Blue Fire at Europa, the track color will be blue with a combination of white and silver supports.
17. Coasters I have ridden the most for each park: Kings Island: The Beast Cedar Point: Millennium Force Kings Dominion: Dominator Holiday World: The Voyage Coney Island: Python ( who would've thought!? ) Overall coaster: The Beast
18. Now that I think about it why did Rougarou not receive these new restraints?
19. A B&M flyer would have made such a better addition at CP than a dive coaster. Whenever I get the need to dive at the point I take the 120mph+ route.
20. Cedar Fair should just relocate Shockwave from Kings Dominion to Michigan's Adventure and call it a day.
21. it's been awhile since Six Flags had a new B&M instillation, last one being in 2012. There's been a lot of B&M instillation's on Cedar Fair's behalf since 2008.
22. I would love to see a Mack coaster addition at Kings Island. Wether it be a giga coaster or a wild mouse coaster.
