Looks like the name, LOGO and POV was leaked a day early. While the coaster type is not necessary a 'leak' as it's been long known for a year now. I'm unsure why KD didn't go the route of, "Find out what that thing in the parking lot will look like next year"

No link provided to abide by sites TOS.

And another example of enthusiast entitlement makes the park less willing to have events for enthusiasts. The guy that leaked it, did so as he was upset over not being invited to the announcement.

It’s not. It’s literally barn plans I found online.

A finished building in this style would be Duluth Trading in West Chester.

So I guess we are getting the best emporium ever…

I was making a joke since that diagram was extremely similar (almost identical) to a diagram of the original structure of St. Peter’s in my art history course that I took in college.

As the blog post said the pavilion next to BS is the only one removed, the larger one behind Coca-Cola Oasis is still standing. That is not a ton of space.  As SoB said it is an expense and if there were structural problems or needed roof work they may have just removed it with no plans to put anything there. The few times I have ventured over that way there were not many coolers on tables. I suspect with the meal plans now fewer people use it than in years past.

One possibility if the structure did have issues is just replacing it with cheaper sail shades and still having a semi-covered picnic area.

@gforce1994 Why would that particular location need excessively deep piles over any of the other rides that are close together in the park?  Is the geology different there?

That’s the area of the park with the lowest elevation and floods frequently. With it being so close to the lake as well, if you wanted to build a tall coaster, you would need to have deep piles in order to deal with all the stresses.

  4. The park has been looking to potentially keep facilities related to employee access consolidated. Currently some of it is on the mainland and some of it is on the peninsula itself. The park uses the area to drop off employees for shifts.

If one was to build a ride there, you would need excessively deep piles to anchor the ride and to prevent impacts from other rides.

Considering that they’re moving everything off the mainland, maybe they are planning to move some of the parking lot off property, as they have been buying up dozens of properties.

The clip at the top of the blueprint reminds me of this roof shape. It’s called a “Monitor” style roof. It’s not uncommon for any variety of buildings, not just barns.

That’s a structural model of the original St. Peter’s.

I think the blueprints are notable, but I don’t think we can draw any conclusions as to what they are for. The truss structure could be for the roof of any building for all we know. I honestly hope these blueprints are for a front gate renovation.

True, however, the roof truss structure doesn’t represent any roof we have in the park currently.

  7. In a recent video to KI’s YT channel, the park did a quick feature on its head of Maintenance and Construction. During the video, blueprints are shown in the video. The video show blueprints that are blurred out, except for a small section that shows a truss structure similar to what is seen in stations. Is the park planning a new ride?73374042-3980-45DD-B404-674D667BADDA.jpeg92716595-23A3-498B-BBE4-07248485F57B.jpeg

The park has used similar teases to promote a new ride. A tweet in 2016 featured the turnaround for MT with a Starbucks cup nearby.

I think the point others are trying to make is; you see markers, some brush cut down, and some holes in the ground and jump to it's a new coaster. There is no entertaining any other ideas being a possibility.

Then you go and write an article representing said work as a coaster coming as fact. People start sharing the misleading information thinking it is coming true. Next the news starts calling the park, looking on KIC and contacting admins to see what is actually going on.

Then the park and KIC are forced to do damage control. There is a reason why KIC has a general discussion forum, a rumors forum, and a newsroom forum. Until we know something as fact from the park, I will never put an article out that is not true or misleading  in the newsroom section of the forums.

I did not write an article saying a coaster was coming. The wing coaster concept was to visually show off the size of the site that the park was working with, from Timberwolf to the front gate.

Calling the removal of some trees inside Timberwolf  "land clearing" is being overdramatic.  You want clicks on the website you prognosticate for.  I guess it could be correct, but if that is the case, when I pull a weed from my garden, I have also been doing some land clearing.

"extremely overgrown" is overdramatic.  The facility sees limited use.  So, after about 15 months of non use, of course vegetative growth is going to be excessive.  So would it be on Internationall Street, Coney Mall, Rivertown, Kings Mills Auto Mall or your residence.  The flags and paint from last year are a moot point until further information comes forward.

Maybe they will demolish this section of the park, maybe they won't.  Only time will tell.  Your hypothesis may or may not be correct, but you act like yours is the only thing that can happen.  Be reasonable.

There have been markers seen around Timberwolf since the middle of last year, the berms on the side have been removed, and the organizers of Spirit Song have laid off a good portion of their staff. The writing is on the wall for Timberwolf.

Here we go again.  Maybe they will, maybe they won't.  But removing some trees off a berm does not equate to land clearing. Try...just TRY to not be overdramatic...please!

I’m not being overdramatic. I observed, made a rational hypothesis, and posted it.

Yeah and there has really been nothing done to the area. Markers can mean more than a new coaster. Also, like said in the past, take any Coaster Nation article talking about construction at the park with a grain of salt unless there is clear land clearing going on like what we saw in 2008, 2013, 2016, and 2019. It'd be noticeable and there would be a decoding thread up by now.

However, there HAS been work done at Timberwolf over the last few weeks. Considering the facility is extremely overrun with grass, bushes, and shrubs along with a some activity observed in the area nearby dating back to last summer, what makes you think they are keeping Timberwolf, when there’s no certainty if there will be a Spirit Song next year?

The placement would be curious if they are needed soil core sample locations.  Orion’s maintenance track, station, and queue are all in the way.  Unless they are testing to determine the soil bearing pressure to relocate one or some of the maintenance buildings located at the Front of Area 72 to free up room there for a new flat ride.

The thing is the bores are not in an arrangement that would indicate a building. The randomness of the bores screams a coasters. We have seen bores taken at KI in the past. At the beginning of the 2018 there were bores by the old Dinosaurs Alive attraction.

Bores are usually for deep foundations, so, that of in itself would rule out maintenance buildings.

  13. I’d assume a coaster or tall attraction. That appears to be bore holes, which are used for sites with large loading conditions.

It likely isn’t a flat ride, as a flat ride is spread out over an area using a spread footing.

As others have said, I don't believe Timberwolf is taking up "Valuable Space". According to public records from the auditor, KI is only using about 50% of the land they own. I also wouldn't be a fan of them putting any sort of ride in that space considering its proximity to the parking lot. (See Scream at Magic Mountain)

Well, it’s cheaper fo tear down a structure and build on top of it, then it is to tear down a forest and build on top of it.
