I just ran into a coupon pad yesterday at our dentist's office, of all places, that let you buy tickets for $30.99. Since they are only good through the end of July, I'm unlikely to use it (I already took my husband once this month, and doubt I'll take anyone else). But I was impressed at the deal. It's almost as good as the one-day sale they had last week at the Kings Island website, and better for a single ticket, after the online purchase fee.

I could swear I had seen the Demon art on eBay before, before I was on these boards. I love it, but I'm not in a position to buy anything at the moment.
Lucky for you, that, because even at the price you have it, that Beastie logo was greatly tempting me this morning. I'm jealous
Smurfs are small, though, how can there not be room!?

If you end up taking 75 up, Kewpees in Lima (the one on Bellfontaine Ave) is a wonderful pit stop to get food. Great burgers. My husband and I periodically do a day trip to Toledo and usually stop at Kewpees on the way up and on the way back.

I don't mind the extra time, I just get really nervous in a room of distracted people and shelves of glassware. I can usually navigate it pretty well, but you never know when someone is going to suddenly break their attention from the monitor without engaging their brain to their surroundings.

There is one, but the only time I've ever encountered it unlocked (and open in that case) was at the beginning of 9:00-9:30 ERT at the Coaster Crew Banshee Bash. That was only because they hadn't opened the shop yet.
I am hoping they start unlocking it as a bypass if the store does start getting too clogged due to on-ride videos.

Yeah, last time I was at the park, it wasn't until I was halfway up Drop Tower that I got far enough away from FUNTV to hear the anthem was even being sung. At first I thought "oh, they're starting the anthem," then recognized "oh say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave" rather than "oh say can you see."

The thing I've had most trouble with on the app/mobile website currently is finding the Kings Island Five's location schedule. It's the info I most want at the park that isn't otherwise available (like I can just look at the sign outside the theater to check when Cirque Imagine is showing if I didn't have it memorized). Or I could grab the show schedule inside the gates, but it isn't listed on that either.
I can only see it on the full site. I have the page bookmarked, but when I go to the bookmark, it automatically redirects to the mobile site. So, I have to click through about five pages before I see it. I probably should just copy it to a text file and save that.
It kind of sucks that you're tied into the mobile site/ app maker chosen by Cedar Fair as a whole rather than being able to make your own adjustments as needed.

I've never been to Haunt before, are you referring to Sam from the movie Trick 'r Treat?

So, Slaughter House Reloaded, interesting.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that while they wait for a part, they've decided to do some sort of maintenance on the cars that would be best done out of the elements, like painting or something.

Wordplay that gets a groan out of me is a rare treat. I mean that honestly, not sarcastically.
I admit I sometimes get a little confused about what is at which park. Mostly I keep forgetting The Wizarding World isn't Disney. I think it might be because the last time I was in Orlando, nearly everything was Disney. I find myself more drawn to visiting Universal these days. When I actually focus on what is under each company's banner.

Nor are the singers I have heard doing it during the anthem this year singing with a powerful voice, they are clearly just doing the gasps and grunts for effect. I understand that they are young and more interested in showing off their "talent" and less about the song they are singing. I've heard enough famous singers making the same mistake with the anthem to not hold it against a bunch of kids singing at a seasonal park. I just would rather the powers that be (who should know better) offer either an orchestral recording or no anthem, personally.

When I was riding The Bat, a guy mentioned to his girlfriend that he wondered why they decided to rebrand it as The Bat. I could tell from inflection he seemed to be wondering "why the name of a previously failed ride" more than "why rename it?" The self-assured know-it-all in front of him apparently missed that in his excitement to be able to show off his "knowledge." He turned and said "it's because Paramount sold the park, so they couldn't call it Top Gun anymore."
Neither I, nor the guy he was "explaining" to cared enough to correct him about the Flight Deck years.

Most of the restrooms have paper towels for hand drying. I did try one with the Dyson Blade dryers (I think it was in Picnic Grove) once, I kinda liked them.

I'd like to buy an on-ride video of me to show my husband. He likes that I enjoy the coasters, even though he doesn't like them himself. I think he'd like it even better if he could see the huge grin I get every time I'm riding Banshee.

Depending on crowds, of course, but if you hit the line for The Beast a little before 9, you can probably get a ride in on it then make it back to Banshee before they break the line off. Of course, the time I tried this myself, crowds were lower than I expected and I got a sunset ride on Beast instead, but that was beautiful as well.
I personally don't find Banshee at night as special as Beast at night, so if you can only do one, I'd suggest the latter.

I personally think it would make more sense to stop the singing of the national anthem every day at park open. Maybe reserve it for Independence Day and other national holidays.
They could bring in special performers for those days, which would hopefully also stop the butchering of the song with added sex gasps and grunts, which I find a lot more offensive than people at an amusement park enjoying the amusements they came for.

stinky, me too more or less. Only for me it was last Monday, and after 25-30 years. I was looking at the remnants of the organ while I was on the ride thinking "geez, I don't think they're ever going to fix that" and I can't express how happy I am to be wrong!
I have been very impressed with KI's motivation this year.

Nor do I believe any of the problems could be described as strictly "mechanical." As far as I know, the first smoking event (that was publicized as a "fire" even though there were no flames) was a burned out induction motor (which I would qualify as electromechanical at most) and the second time it went down was due to a blown electrical box on the outside of the building.
From what I can tell, what is needed is an overhaul of the entire electrical supply system of that side of the park (including Action Zone most likely) if not the entire park. I think this is probably already underway.

I was quite nervous for a ride op who was leaning across the train using nearly her entire body weight to get a bar down last time I visited. If she lost her balance at all, it was entirely possible for her to fall in front of that car onto the track.
It can't be great for the functionality of the rider or the restraints, either, to put that much stress on the lap bars. I know no one wants to be embarrassed, but there are a lot worse things in the world than not being able to ride a coaster.

I don't know for sure they're listening to us, but I did notice a couple things yesterday I hadn't so far this season.
First was the return of the flames on BLSC. I know others had mentioned them showing up on and off, but it was the first I personally saw them.
Second was that there were atmospheric sounds being played through speakers on Adventure Express. I rode it twice on Tuesday and several times earlier in the season, and if they were playing anything then it was so quiet as to be unnoticible. This time I clearly heard the sounds of blowing wind throughout the first half of the ride, and creaking wood sounds (making the structure sound perilously close to falling down) on the lift hill mid-ride. Then the whooshing "wind" again. I was hoping it would mean the effects on the final hill would be loud enough to make out over the mechanical clanking of the lift, but it was as muffled as usual.

Now you mention it, nope there isn't a slab foundation. I didn't even see that they've done much compacting (if any) of the dirt. It makes me wonder how permanent they intend the structure to be.

Diamondback just said 60 minutes on the sign and it looked about like that to look at the line. I decided not to wait. It's as busy as you would expect on a weekday in the midsummer, especially with this nice of weather.

"Cirque Imagine" at Kings Island!

I'd love a DVD! In case I hadn't mentioned it before
I dyed my hair recently, and I think my color choice was subconsciously influenced by the clowns in Cirque Imagine. I realized last time I went to the park in my twin low pigtails (to keep my hair under control and out of the way of headrests on things like FOF) and my bangs that I was practically doing Wendy (of fast food fame) cosplay. It is very red.
