It wasn't just that he said it, it was how he said it.
He also said they are taking into consideration the great outcry by patrons for more Dippin' Dots stands, and I could tell by how he said that that he was joking.

Two things I noticed today. There is a water leak near an electrical box on the right wall of the queue outside the UFO. It wasn't raining at the time, and I don't think that can help with their electrical issues.
Also, they have it a lot darker on the ride itself than it was earlier in the season. I don't think that could be conserving much power but it's interesting.

FOF
in Kings Island
I wore my Outer Limits Flight of Fear shirt today in honor of it being the first time in a month it's been up when I have been at the park. The ride ops really loved it, I wasn't expecting them to notice so much.

Don did say during the tour he couldn't tell us now, but we'd find out this fall. So, it's as good as telling us it is for Haunt.
View down in the pit they've dug next to the site.

Ride ops on Diamondback who put singles in odd rows and couples in even. Because why wouldn't strangers want to sit right next to each other and couples four feet away?

About the only positive thing about my sleep disorder is endless early morning hours to spend doing silly stuff

Subway only offers half-footers in park, for around $6 each

I had the same reaction, only I thought FoF. I wasn't aware the noodle was "a popular attraction."

Does anyone know if this will be sort of a self-serve buffet and/or all you can eat? It's going to be one of the only times this year I'll eat in-park, so I am probably over-obsessed with it

Because it broke or needed maintenance.
I agree that "waiting for parts" is the most likely reason it has been down as long as it has. For the first week or so of it being down, there were signs of active work being done, then it was put up on the wooden supports it has sat on for the rest of the time it has been down.

Do you buy at the Dinosaurs Alive attraction or front gates? Or either/both?

Sorry to bump the thread, but have there been any new tweet-ups since the June 11th one? I guess they must have gotten too busy.

Totally not just you. I hate crowds too. They bother me less as I've gotten older, and after having lived near Los Angeles for several years. It still stresses me out to be surrounded by people without a clear exit, though.

I took this when I was there Tuesday, but hadn't posted it yet. They've ripped the whole area up pretty good so far (it is now hard to tell what parts are what), and seemed to be digging quite deep for some sort of trenches (that's what is shown in that photo). That makes me wonder if plumbing will be coming to the new building.
So, possibly food or restrooms?
Maybe they'll let us know during our tour Monday, but probably not.

Weren't there different media day and first rider t-shirts, anyway? They have the same basic design, but I could swear I have seen some people in ones that say media day, and others that say first rider.

Yesterday someone posted in the current wait times thread that there was a line waiting, so presumably it was open. I haven't seen anyone posting that they are there today (not surprising, it is probably a madhouse) so we don't have confirmation. Very very unlikely it is down for the season, regardless, in my humble opinion.
There is a very slight chance I might go down for fireworks tonight or tomorrow, if I do, I will try to find out if the ride is open. If not, I will definitely post one way or the other on Monday. If it is open, I will probably spend half the day waiting for and riding it.

I know it can only be speculation, but under what weather conditions does Kings Island typically cancel fireworks? Rain, hard rain, lightning, high winds, etc? I haven't stayed long enough to see them shoot at all this year, but I plan to for the Coaster Crew event Monday. With no experience, I wasn't sure how much weather they will put up with for their shoots. I know even consumer stuff can be shot in pretty heavy rain, cuz my husband did that last year for the 4th, down in Kentucky.
Also, weird question, but has anyone here found a good place to take a short nap at the park? I'm probably going to end up taking a late-afternoon nap in my vehicle if I can't find anything better.

Wait, whoa, wait. You're saying FoF is open?

Now that it is finally open again, Drop Tower is also often included.

Nope, not weird at all. It is one of my favorite things about it.
About the only time I've seen the line long is when they first let the general public in, it's usually a flood straight from the ropes to Banshee.

In my experience, teens today, on average, are actually better behaved and socially concious than the ones from my own childhood and teenage years (and the first decade of this century). I've been pleasantly surprised, often.
The unfortunate thing with people in general is that the rude and ill behaved draw so much more attention than the far greater number who aren't like that.

I caught the show twice today, so I got to see the new act.
The snake lady (as I will call her, not because she uses a snake in the act, but I feel she moves like one) is a very talented enjoyable addition to the show. The stunts performed by her and her partner are amazing, and she has such a sinewy grace. I very much liked her contribution to the show.
However, I don't like that they cut nearly the entire teeter-totter clown portion to make room. I wish they had cut out some of their clowning around on the box at the beginning rather than that. I can't get enough of watching the long haired clown in the air. I love his talent and gracefulness. Sure, I still get to see him on the trampoline, but I still miss the teeter totter.
One of the clowns (the shortest one) had a bit of an accident in the first show, but fortunately he didn't seem to be injured (and did the rest of the show and the second show fine). As they were wheeling in the tall stand before the teeter totter (the bit of the act they still use), one of the folded mats slipped off the cart, right at the position the other two were carrying the teeter totter to. As he was quickly backing it into position, he tripped into the mat and fell on his butt and the clown on the other end didn't have time to react and stop moving forward, so he ended up with the teeter totter's end jamming into his pelvis after he sat down hard. I could tell it wasn't part of the act, and he looked a little upset/embarrassed and in some pain (but not too bad). Fortunately, the end of the teeter totter and the thing he landed on were padded. The second showing, I noticed he looked behind him as he approached the same area, rather than backing up blindly.

Oh, I'm so happy! I can get some at the CC event most likely then

Sadly, I think they are gone They have a stand in the under $10 shop (clearance shop) at the Coney Mall, but it only has Peanut Butter and Orange left. The fudge shop has none, and an empty case-top where the stand for them was. I haven't asked yet (because they've been busy and I'm sure I'll get the typical "I don't know" answer). I don't want to know for sure, because that might kill all hope.
If they're gone for good, I will certainly miss them.

I was in line for The Beast for what turned out to be an absolutely gorgeous sunset ride, so I can't really be too sorry I missed it. If the tweet had happened 15 minutes later, I probably would have been already in the Eiffel Tower area anyway.
I'm just really happy he did another one. Thanks, Don! Pretty cool!
