The only active ride in the entire park I’ve never been on (including up charges and water rides) is Charlie brown’s windup.
The other kid rides I went on when I had very small children, but they don’t let adults on the windup. My son has been on every ride/slide in the park.

Apparently this is all lies. Tapatalk won’t let me delete.

How is it so much louder than Fury? Even the lift hill seemed loud.

I’d Like them to add a mass effect 4-D styled ride which I’ve heard nothing but good things about at CGA.
The plants vs zombies 4D ride at Carowinds in their old action theater is pretty fun. I was hopeful that would be reapplied to KI.

I’ve got all five of my family setup with pass perks for KI.
3 of us have gotten something.
2 have never received anything.
1 of us got the recent 50% fudge offer.

Hang time is ok... But compared to a big dive coaster like valraven or Yukon striker it's underwhelming and lacks the major thrill of a dive coaster.
If they go dive, they should commit and stick with B&M.

Anyone else have Kings Island themed costume?
My son, who is a huge coaster fanatic, wanted to go as the constellation Orion.

Good place for a hotel, just throwing out an odd idea.
Fun place fit a hotel ... But the logistics of parking for the hotel and ability to enter /exit the hotel when the park is open would be tricky

Though more elements are being added, I think that dive coasters are still mostly one-trick ponies. I would expect/prefer something that is more like Copperhead Strike at Carowinds. Cedar Point doesn't have anything too similar (Maverick is close) and that type of coaster would fit into that space very well. I would be on board with an Intamin blitz coaster as well, maybe with a top hat to provide a nice addition to the skyline. The next best thing would be a new ground-up RMC woodie. Doesn't have to go for height records but that type of wood coaster would look great back there.
I might steer away from B&M's for the next couple coasters. I love their rides but manufacturers like Gerstlauer and Mack should be used to provide some different rides. A ride like Taron would be great as well.
While dive coasters might be a "one trick pony" that one trick is amazing... (And I'm assuming you've never ridden Yukon striker which I'd argue had more tricks with the dive under water and inversion).
By comparison, Copperhead strike, in my opinion, is a zero trick pony.
It's fine, but it really doesn't give you a unique thrill. The stall in the inversion is different... But isn't thrilling.
That said, I think it would be awhile before they put another B&M in at KI... and a dive coaster that isn't a B&M is lack luster (i'm looking at you hangtime)

I'm assuming it's packed...
Anyone there to confirm?

Did you ever hear anything? It is the same way today. We just left and the open parking is nearly at Max, an the way to Soak City exit. Seems ridiculous!

My guess is that they are doing this so that the masses of people who come for haunt (and tend to stay until close) will be parked closer together vs having what are typically more rowdy guests walking to the dark edges of the Soak City parking lot.
The implication is that those who come early for haunt get worse parking spots than those who come later... Which seems ridiculous.

I suspect that is just parking control to pack them in so there are not tons of gaps and then people driving up and down isles looking for a spot.
It was ridiculous.
I assumed they are trying to keep large areas open for when people flood in around 6 for haunt... But it seems crazy that those who come later get "rewarded" with the best spots. We walked from past Soak City posing to the front gate. I logged my complaint with guest services.

We went.
Chaos is a walk through maze, in which the scary has been resolved and there are some "find the clues parts"
Shipwrecked is a walk around. You need to ask and figure out where to start...
Museum of mystery is a the haunt maze, but with the scary things covered. We were told it was a 30 minute wait and takes 20 minutes to compete. We'll try again another day.
We didn't try blackout or the craft area.

Has anyone done this?
Are the areas of these activities clearly marked on the map?
We went Friday and they weren't on the map... But I'm guessing they might have a daytime map and nighttime map for haunt. (And this would only be on the daytime map)
Any tips on where each adventure actually starts, and how to progress through the activities?

My bad you meant the free fast pass ticket for the platinum pass. I misunderstood but that is good to know becuase customer service told me that i could get one at any park i want.
I think you could have gotten it at any park you want... As long as you renewed your platnium and made that park your home park. Once you made KI you home park, then your one time Fast Lane pass was assigned to KI

Repostwd here (was in wrong topic)
So I bought my new (not renewal) 2020 platinum pass, used it at Kings Island this weekend and am currently at Cedar Point for the next couple of days. Entered Sunday evening and it required an associate to override something. Ticket agent supposedly investigated and corrected the issue. Entered this morning at CP for early entry and gate agent was having issues. Another manager had to stop by looked into ticket data and said they would look into it. They took a picture of my pass, wrote something down and forwarded it to "CP Corporate" to investigate.
I had called before purchasing at both parks to confirm it would work.
Looks like training has been okay, with the people overriding a computer issue, but be prepared to explain your situation. Looks like the ticketing system isn't quite ready (or my account is just fubared).
YMMV...
I bought a new platnium last fall at Kings Island.
Since I had a Kings Island gold, the first time I used it last fall was at Cedar Point.
Since then, my pass only works for parking at Kings Island once... Then I have to tell guest services and they do something to fix it... It will work one more time after that, but the second visit it won't work for parking, and I have to go back to guest services.
Not a big deal, as I always go with others and we can just use their pass to park. But just another example that there are bugs in the system and the people at guest services can make it better, but haven't been able to fix my issue.

I live nearby. We saw a truck delivering more track this morning. Looked like the start of the lift hill piece.

Price of platnium at the time of your upgrade, minus the price you paid for your gold (even if gold has increased in price by then)

Justin at CPFoodBlog has a recent post about doing this. He claims to save $400 on his family. Prudent to check and see if your financial institution has any fees for the currency conversion. Also if you do the payment plan you need to factor in currency conversion rate fluctuations.
I just read the blog. I'm his example, he referenced 2018 passes that he bought when they were actually in Canada. In that case, I'd understand that the price would be in Canadian.
I'm trying to understand, if someone bought platinum today online (while physically in the USA) will it be in Canadian or US dollars (the mobile version isn't clear to me)

We're thinking of Getting the Platinum with the all park fastlane, is it for certain you can buy it from CW and activate at any park and never actually go to CW?
Has anyone tried this?
I was surprised tu see that the price for a platnium from CW is the same as the other parks, even though I assume it's in Canadian $$.
This would make a $197 CA pass about $150 US.
Does anyone know if this process as a Canadian payment (and thus is a ton cheaper) or if it still proceed as a US payment and it's no change.
If not, why would you buy it from CW if that isn't your home park?

At the start of the season they posted a phone number in some bathrooms that you could text if there was an issue you needed guest services to be aware of.
I've often thought it would be great to text them photos of smokers and locations and see if anyone addresses it, but I haven't actually saved the number to my phone so I never have it when I think of this.
Also, I've suggested before that I think it would be great to start a thread of shame on here, where we post pictures of smokers that are outside the smoking areas... So maybe we should do that in this thread?

So the real question... should I upgrade to platinum now in hopes that they will open this season and I’ll essentially get a bonus free months of platinum.
