The Interpreter
I remember the now defunct bonus program for rides supervisors at KI. Cedar Fair gave that the axe pretty quickly. I did pretty darn well in 2006 though. Don't you find it interesting that the bonus program lives on at Cedar Point? . . . Cedar Point offers a great wage package and bonus program. Most positions start at $7 per hour. Employees under 16 years old will earn $5.80 an hour. Employees who fulfill the terms of their Employment Agreement will be eligible for the Bonus Program, allowing employees to earn an extra 35 cents per hour worked. From Sept. 8 though Nov. 2, the bonus will increase to $1 per hour for employees age 16 and older who work during the park's HalloWeekends event and successfully complete their employee contract. . . http://www.foxbusiness.com/markets/industr..._424384_15.html

bparrott03
I'm not trying to be rude, but jacksonpki, if you have nothing important to post on a topic... don't post. I'm not trying to step on any mods or admins turf. Maybe its the fact that im used to other online communies being way more strict, lol. To answer the other question, rides, admissions, and lifegaurds all got the same letter.. (well, judgeing by how it shows returners pay rate for all 3 of those sections, I assume so.) Most departments will probably send one out, because they ask for you to re-apply. Can't wait to see everyone back this year!

UCbengal985
Oh brother, parrott. People can reply to any topic any way they want to. Did that two seconds that it took you to read his post completely throw off your day?
King Maple The Tree King
^Hi, welcome to KICentral, you just started posting yesterday, this is your 2nd post. A lot of us who read here and post regularly are familiar with Jackson's typical one word responses and responses the contribute nothing to the topics, just clutter up space and add nonsense. Parrot was very polite to him. Perhaps Jackson could have elaborated more hence Parrot's request to him. Seeing as that you are not a mod or an admin, but a brand new poster here, you're not in the position to be chastising any members of these forums. The Interpreter
Not to mention that all posters are subject to the Terms of Service. UCbengal985, I invite your attention to the third paragraph thereof in particular: One-word responses - One-word responses are unacceptable for anything with the exception of the forum games. This is simply because it's unusual for a one-word response to actually have any merit or thought put into it. If you agree with someone, let us know why, don't just leave us hanging with "^agreed". This is also specifically hard on our dial up users who have to download the whole template constantly with really no content in it. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4128 So, people CANNOT reply to a topic any way they want to...they MUST comply with the Terms of Service...like any respectful guest. Avatar
I live to far away to work at KI but would if I could, at least part time, just for fun. I agree about the one line clutter posts it's getting out of hand, ditto to all other posts about this subject in this topic as well as others. Also ditto to the second post directly above. PKIVortex
I will not be returning as I have not worked at KI since 2001. However I'll be returning to ride rides lots this season. I just hope some of the employees behavior changes for this upcoming season.
Braves0511
I'm with a lot of you in living too far away. I live just west of Indianapolis and it takes me almost exactly two hours to get there, and there's no where closer. I would absolutely kill to work in a park, especially Kings Island, but any of them will do. Avitar: your little bug in your signature definitely just threw me for a loop... PKIVortex
Yes with Gas prices they way they are now a days I would never consider working too far away from home. Unless the company paid for your gas. Yes Avatars signature caught me off guard too.

If you really want to work at a park, CP has dorm-like living quarters for most of their employees. And in response to Avitar, you owe me a new flat screen for my computer. I broke the other one trying to kill a bug on the screen.

Avatar
Sorry for the bug scare and the flat screen damage everyone, I just thought you all could appreciate a little humor in it. I was asked on another forum by a company that host all my pictures and Videos to try out a new beta system of a dramatically new version and to report any bugs in the program. I came across this bug gif and thought I would report a bug sitting to them and to also share it with you all. On that note, because of my involvement in the Beta trial all my former picture and video links are broken (****) I had put a lot of work in some past posts. Oh well the new program is great and I will try to go back and fix some of the past links to pertinent threads.
Reclaimer
You also must pay for the dorms if you live on property at CP. The cost is very minimal. It was something in the neighborhood of $32/week for the dorms, which are the most expensive of the housing options. The quality of the housing, not the cost, is what makes me, and many others, cringe. Yet here I am, going back for another year.
DeLorean Rider
I'm to young to work at KI, but when I can I will! Personally I dont feel that this was an off topic post. The thead is about who will be working at Kings Island next year. Many have said they will not be working there next year, some who worked there last year, some many years ago, and some who have never worked there. Does this mean that only people who worked at KI in 2007 have a right to post in this thread? He mearly said that he will not work there next year but may in the future. However concise, it was still in line with the thread. Also looking back through his previous posts, its a very difficult argument to make that he brings "nothing" to the table. Lets all just be friends.
Browntggrr
Nobody said that it was off topic, but simply that it was not important. But I guess if you look at the glass is half full theory, it was not a one word answer. But you are right, we should all try to be friends. bparrott03
wow, wasn't wanting to make this big of a deal out of it.. Sorry to those I offended, that was not the purpose behind it. Anyways, dropping it. Firehawk, As far as I know everyone should be getting one but I'd probably contact HR when they open on the 14th.. I live in Dayton, and I drive a SUV (ford explorer... yeah, not the best on gas). I'm content with the gas cost, even if I have to work about 3 hours to cover the cost of my gas to and from work for that day. Everyone says I'm crazy for doing it, but I love my job and the people I work with.. So in the end it's worth it to me. It boils down to if you think its really worth it or not, but a drive from indiana would get so boring every day! I know it takes me anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes to get to work depending on what day, what time, and how bad traffic is. I'm excited about the new season, and seeing everyone again, and the new people that come. Hopefully we have some supprises to look forward too! PKIVortex
I use to do it too, drive to KI from Dayton everyday for work. but this was in 1999, 2000 and 2001. I would say gas Prices where half of what they are today. Seeing as how gas is over 3 dollars a gallon now, I wouldn't even think about it. And if prices keep going the way they are, it is not just the employees who are going to be impacted by the gas prices...but the park itself and Cedar Fair as a whole. Mr. Kinzel seems to think gas prices do not have a major impact on Cedar Fair's business. I think this may be the year he finds out otherwise. All regional parks are very apt to suffer if gas prices go as high as many project. There are those who say to expect $3.75 for self service unleaded by spring, and perhaps $4.50 by year end. Then there are those, like Woofer, who claim the presidential election will somehow keep this from happening until at least after the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. I love working there..much better job than my full time job. However, gas is going to play a big part in whether I return or not. I drive an accord, and even with that it was a struggle. I am on the fence right now, but if it gets much worse, I may not be able to return-and I also think that is going to play a big part in attendance at the park this year as well. For the common folk like me, we stay home all the time now because of it. The civic in my avatar was not mine..but what a great car it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In a election year no less. uugh... I drove that car for about 3 weeks when the alarm went haywire on my accord and stranded me on fields ertel. It is my dads car...the colour was supposed to be some shade of red..he painted it as an experiment, which went horribly wrong, but it actually doesn't look half bad. That little fart gets about 40 to the gallon cause it is a stick. But he kept it as a joke....... Its an 89 civic, so now I am trying to find one myself-and no airbags!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On another note, I am going to the pawn shop this week. I was lucky and was able to sell my house, but the financial pain remains...and I think I represent half of the people in this country right now.
