malem
New this season, Cedar Fair parks are hosting "Run & Ride" weekends, combining fitness with thrill rides. Each park has a variety of options, from a recreational walk/run to a timed half marathon race.It looks like a lot of fun; I'm considering doing Kings Island's 10k race or Cedar Point's 5k race. Participants are not covered in colored powder, unlike at another event, which is a strong selling point for me.Kings Island's event will take place during Haunt, from September 26-28. Spectrum91
The half-marathon caught me off guard - I believe it's the longest run the park has yet done, and I am very curious how they plan to fit a thirteen mile course into Kings Island. If you download and open Google Earth, there's an option to draw a path over the landscape and it'll tell you it's length. Just try to make a logical one that long and you'll see what a challenge the park is set to face.
jcgoble3
^ If you click the link that malem provided to the KI website and click through a couple of pages, you'll find links to the course maps. It appears that the half will simply be two laps of the 10K loop.
