Blackhole6670
I was asking because the person who may go to Kings Island with me in the summer of 2016 does not want to ride these rides. I want to ride these rides really badly. So, can riders ride Xtreme Skyflyer and slingshot solo? Also, what tips do you have for those rides? Does a rider have to pull the cord to release the rider on Xtreme Skyflyer?
PKIVortex
I know you can do Skyflier alone and yes you have to pull a cord. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
TOPGUN1993
Yes you can ride Skyflyer solo, (I recommend it, the drop is better) and yes you have to pull the ripcord.Slingshot you must ride with someone.
malem
See the guest assistance guide: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/GAG%202015%284%29.pdf While SlingShot can be ridden solo, note that it requires a combined weight of 110lbs per launch. Riders weighing less than that would need to have a companion. SlingShot at Cedar Point always requires a companion.
MDMC01
I think Single Riders may have been allowed on Slingshot in the past, but when I rode last season, I was paired with a Slingshot employee as there is a new policy that does not allow single riders.
The Interpreter
...this is to be sure you stay awake... Terp, only half kidding.
malem
^^ Interesting; this is the first I've heard of such a policy change there. Assuming that a companion is required, it's nice that they'll send an associate to allow single riders to participate. Cedar Point requires two paid riders per launch.
MDMC01
I do agree that Slingshot is relaxing, but not that relaxing, Terp! Also, @malem, yeah, I was told that when I rode last season, but I forget what the crew stated was the reason for the change.
bkroz
Quoting myself from another one of your now-locked threads: Blackhole6670, any and all questions you have regarding your trip this summer should probably be in [this] thread. When you post a new post in that thread, it will "bump" that thread back to the top of the discussion board as malem said so we'll all know to read it. Starting a new thread for every question you have regarding that one single day isn't very productive. Like malem said, you've got plenty of responses to the hand-holding question in the original thread you started. Read through those first. If they still don't answer your question, post in that thread with any additional information you need. See ya at that thread over there.
PyroKinesis
Maybe if you hold her hand she'll get on it with you.
Honorarius
Last year at KI I was told by the attendant that I could not ride Slingshot alone, and as I was traveling solo, was told I would have to find someone willing to ride with me... I offered to pay for the other seat that would be empty and told that was not allowed... As much fun as it sounded, I passed on the 'talk random strangers into getting on Slingshot with me' experience...
