BeastVortexFan
About a week ago I was in a line for the very front on SOB it already looked cloudy, but not about to rain. RIGHT as the attendants said "all clear" it poured down rain. The whole ride I had my hands over my head and duucked down it hurt like hell!!! It was THE worst and will be most painfull ride of my life. Oh yeah, it was bupy to!

elitescr3
yes, and it was one of the best times i have ever had on that ride, we rode it probably five or six times in a row. not only was it raining, it was really cold out too....

PKIVortex
Oh trust me, rain in the face doesn't feel very good while on a coaster. Even at 55 MPH on Vortex it feels like needles hitting your face.
gburn07
When I went I had a pretty hard storm while I was on it and going down the first helix it hurt like no other. When you have to keep your eyes closed on a ride it sucks haha. I really had no choice. The rain overtook the bumpiness for the champion of pain on that ride. Pkirocker77
I've never rode SOB in the rain, but I've rode Big Bad Wolf at BGW in it. I had to keep my eyes closed the whole ride. I guess it wouldn't have mattered since it was the night, but still. However on Two for Tuesday once my sister and I rode Drop Zone twice in a row in the rain. We were the only two on the ride at the time. It got our legs soaked.

jlopez
I rode SOB right after it rained one time and it was the smoothest ride ever. It was actually my first time riding it. That is the smoothest it has ever been for me. Jennifer
dionmarx
I have ridden it in pouring rain. 2 years ago, while camping at the PKI CG, it started storming at 3:30, ended at around 7PM. Park was emptied, hopped a tram back to the park.. Got on DZ (only about 10 of us) as we approached the top, we could see rain pouring across the parking lot, but as luck would have it, it passed us by.. But we could see 1 person on SOB.. So off to SOB, and our choice of seats.. The front seat is great, but as soon as we appraoched the top of the lift, a torrential downpour started.. What else can you do except enjoy the ride.. We laughed so hard we were crying, or was it from pain of rain drops in the face.. It was still a great time.. As far as taking the pain out of SOB, when there in June, 05/19-24th, we tried our method of pain reduction again.. This really does work, we made believers out of a few people, some wouldn't try it.. Garb the head rest in front of you, lift your but off the seat a little bit, when in the rough spots.. You will see a big difference.... On a last note, if they don't open a campground next year, our group will not be back.. This year w/out the CG really sucked.. I hope attendance figures reflect this. Rick
robbieg123
never ride face/off in hail. it sucks. it didn't look bad when me and my mom got on it, but once we got to the second lift it started hailing. on the loop, it really sucked, then before we got off, it stopped. of course it didn't help we were in the back/front seat (when entering the ride, the first set of seats to the right).
