Description: Winsome Witch’s Cauldrons was a classic spinning tea cups ride themed to the character Winsome Witch segment from the Hanna-Barbera show The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show. The cauldrons rotated around a faux tree with Winsome Witch flying above and animated animals on and inside of it.

History: Winsome Witch’s Cauldrons opened with Kings Island in 1972. Its cauldrons were originally painted pastel shades of red, yellow, and blue, but they were repainted black with flames midway through the 1973 season.

The attraction remained relatively unchanged throughout its run at Kings Island, although a new operator booth was built before its removal. When the ride closed after the 1991 season and was replaced in 1992 with Flintstone Flyers (today known as Charlie Brown’s Wind-Up), that booth was retained and is still used to this day.

After the ride’s removal, at least two of the cauldrons found homes elsewhere. One is used as a prop in the seasonal Dent Schoolhouse haunted house in Cincinnati. Another is a photo spot at a Jungle Jim’s store in Eastgate.
