"Man charged with raping 13-year-old at Kings Island"
Xdog42 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
I'm currently the same age as this girl. As a Male the chances of this happening to me is a little less but still possible. Kids my age seriously need to watch out, This is one of the reasons to this day I still don't use social media. It's a good thing but people need to watch the way the use it. I just think it isn't worth meeting anyone online.(Unless they're a KICentral member you know & trust :)) but back to a serious note. At least do a little research and if you do decide to see the person IRL, Go with a few friends or meet in a VERY public area where if the person decides to do anything stupid people we able to see you, And you can yell for attention.- 24 replies

So I'm in a position where I'm the only person in my family who likes roller coasters. My dad gets Headaches on them so he dosesn't ride them, And my mom and sister are too scared. Practically if we go to KI I see it as me in Rivertown and them in Planet Snoopy. Also, another sad thing is my best friend didn't get season passes this year and isn't coming to KI as much as last year, So basically I have no one to ride Coasters with. So how is it like being a Single Rider at KI and do you guys have any advice for me. And how is it like riding a coaster with someone you don't know?
-
Yea Gigasaur is an awful name. To simple I want it to be creative and interesting.

Ok thanks guys for the info. Now I can finally accept AE having a 5.
-
Thank you for the information. Very interesting how Cedar Fair ranks there coasters. Maybe it needs revising because this could be a little misleading for GP. I think they're rating the Intensity mostly on Speed and a few other factors. Still, does anyone know why AE has an Intensity level of 5? I can't accept it. (not hating on AE)
-
I was just on KI website and I found something interesting, they gave Mystic Timbers an Intensity level of 4. I really don't know what to think of it. The weird thing is that they give AE a 5. I'm positive I'm not the only one who thinks MT is more intense than AE, Still, this ride is looking more like a Flotar ride more than Ejector. I personally like Flotar airtime more but it would be nice to have a ride at KI with some good Ejector. In this Forum many people have said GCI are intense which I do believe is true, but I'm starting to conclude this ride will be one of the less intense of the GCI's, but we will all see this April/May. I can see this. Before I came to love coasters I used to hate them, The main reason was because of the drop. It was a mixture of stomach issues and me overall hating the "drop" sensation you get on a straight drop. Personally, I feel like the Curve drop doesn't give me that sensation as much and doesn't bother my stomach as much. My stomach issues have gone away now and I can say I prefer a straight drop more but I can see GCI point.
-
I find the curve drop fine and pretty steep for a curve, Also for the straight drop you want you on Mystic Timbers there is one on the second hill and it looks pretty nice. Here is a picture of it.

I agree that it will come the 50th Anniversary. Also, the idea of RMC Racer isn't so strong for me, could happen but it's too classic. Vortex is a ride I fell like KI will keep as long as possible, The time they will close it is when parts become too expensive, I can see it staying for maybe until 2025 after then I think it might start becoming too much for the park to handle. For the Giga could use the S.O.B station our they could build in X-base and run it through DA (if they get rid of it)
-
Sweet, Makes me even more excited to ride MT.
-
You said the rides are rerideable which sounds good but are GCI intense? I really don't want/expect GCI to be intense but just wondering because I haven't ridden a GCI before and personally wondering how the company builds their rides.
-
Wait so 18 is to drive the coaster but how old do you have to be to Load people in the coaster/check restraints for the rides?
-
Nice Vortex great job, It be cool to see you drive the ride one day. Also Chug I heard you have driven Diamondback before. How was it like and if I have the chance (when I get older) to drive the coaster should I do it or another ride?
-
That's the word I was looking for Pacing not speed. The thing with Banshee is that with the loose layout it has I don't think an MCBR would work well. On Diamondback it does get sluggish, But you still get the airtime on the hill and cruise through them at an ok pace. I didn't get to ride FoF last season but seeing pov's its pretty luggish on that MCBR.
-
Really I mean I feel like it's worth it because of the extra compacity but I don't mind if the coaster still regains enough speed where the ride is still fun, I hate when a ride is sluggish, that REALLY kills a ride. It also depends on the ride, for ex Diamondback is a B&M hyper so it's mostly you flying over airtime hills and maybe an overbank and a few helixs. All it needs to do is go over it's hills at a good speed where you get airtime, So on those type of rides MCBR are ok. But a ride like Banshee if it had an MCBR it would kill the overall experience. In my opinion it depends on the ride.

Also, I think after the Giga gets installed KI next ride maybe should be an Intense ride like an Intamin Blitz or an RMC. I can't think of a ride we have that's super intense at KI. Are like how your bring out if Vortex gets removed a Floorless. But I don't think at the moment Racer is going anywhere in the next 10 years at least.
-
I agree with everything in this thread. Cedar Fair is going to give a Giga to KI likely in 2021 or 2022, and if everything is right it should be about 345-355 feet tall. I think it will be a B&M and it could use the S.O.B station and could run behind x-base and around. I think the color scheme shouldn't be green it feels to close to Fury imo, Just some thoughts.

I think sometimes it's good to go back and look at the pov of the ride it reminds us of everything that's on the ride because after a little we forget and only think of the big things (practically the shed). I just looked at a pov of the ride and it reminds me of how good it is.

Sometimes it surprises me how accurate people on this sites are with their information. I Definitely wouldn't be able to get all that data and explain it like this so props to you CoasterOhio for making things like this way more easier for me and other people to see.

Thanks for answering. But seriously why do Summer passes cost the same. I mean everyone with common sense would still buy the season pass even if there far away from the park because you never know when you might pass by the park again. It's almost like a store selling 6 cupcakes for $5 and then right next to it you see 9 cupcakes for $5 It really doesn't add up. I'm not sure what idea BG has behind selling summer passes for the same price as a single day ticket but there has to be something we don't see.
-
This is a weird question but can someone tell me why regular season passes cost more than gold season passes. I mean the gold season pass has more perks and I mean logically it should be the more expensive pass amirite?
-
This isn't the best picture but the part circled in red is the station for Mystic Timbers. It at least shows the general position of the station to other coasters close by. As stated by Magenta Lizard it might be close to the old funnel cake stand which I think is the place I made a square in. Oh my world that overbank airtime hill looks beautiful I CAN NOT WAIT to get on this ride, April PLEASE come already.

Opening Day for Kings Island is approaching and I'm positive we all can't wait to get on the Coasters their again. But what coaster/attraction Do you plan to go to first when you go to Kings Island in the first opening weeks. For me, the first coaster I will ride is Racer (blue side) Because that was literally my first adult roller Coaster. But what will it be for you? Also what restaurant will you eat at first? I need some suggestions because when I go to KI I always eat at Skyline Chili or Subway.

Yeah Vortex it would be sweet seeing you work at a place you love. I think if you follow the advice that everyone gave you they will definitely give you the job. Best wishes man just go out there and do your best.
