I think Mike is trying not to remove another ride under his tenure. I will be interested to see if they are waiting for him to retire to retire more rides. Great guy I’ve met him a few times only wish the best for the guy he has a lot of love for the park and his job.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
SmartCat7162 replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
For getting trains of the tracks I think they typically use an articulating boom lift and not a crane, but I could be wrong. I know Banshee for sure gets the boom lift don't know about BLSC. Also for taking down decorations and putting them up they typically use a boom lift as well. -

As seen here they are planning to reroute the whole thing and add more concrete of course this is a blueprint and things can change. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

I took a look at the blueprints and it really appears to be pretty much back of house. There was a page with the blueprints of the coney mall bathroom, probably linking a water line or something like that. I can’t read blueprints that well and for some reason they are not wanting to load this morning. -
Where I worked sometimes the music was pumped into our prep room in the back and that was also awful because no matter where you worked the music was always playing. Five years ago the music was playing, but recently they stopped pumping in music most of the time. It is unfortunate cause whenever they would send out park announcements they would never come through our speaker. So when the important things were announced like the park closing we always had to step outside to hear the announcements. But some nights I would fall asleep listening to the instrumental covers that they played during the regular season, but as keep working their year after year the music doesn’t even register in your head anymore. During the first haunt of the season we would never warn the new coworkers about the cannons, it was like our initiation during haunt. You get jump scared by the cannons.

Now imagine working on international street.

Soak City 2025 Construction Updates
SmartCat7162 replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
Plans have been filed to modify the entrance of Soak City. Appears they are just redoing the lanes in the front. I have never been through the Soak City entrance, but I know it does end up backing up on busy days so this should hopefully help with the flow of traffic. It mainly appears they are adding more concrete to the area and then also they are adding the sort of set up they have at the dry park with security. I feel like small things like this excite me more then a new coaster or water slide. -
Kings Island General Discussion 2025

I was wondering when everyone thought we would see the events for this year. Most parks have released theirs, but we have not really heard anything. -

I don’t see a problem with it. I think it looks professional and it is easy to streamline across the chain. People know the format they should respond with at all call centers. It might seem more impersonal.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge

I’ve been thinking about this is being a publicly traded company beneficial overall or is it better to be privately traded in the amusement industry. -
Outside of the park. I highly dislike when people just light up in the middle of the park. Shouldn’t be smoking anywhere in the park there is a smoking area for a reason.

It was a trade off for an inside VIP lounge. Glad they decided to keep ours outside so we can keep Winterfest!

I feel like the park makes money hand over first during Winterfest and would be super disappointed to see it not return. Hopefully KI’s will return with more decorations sent from KD. I will be absolutely devastated if Winterfest does not return everything is so much better during that time. The dining experience is elevated beyond expectations and just being in the park at that time is magic!

I can not tell if this post is satire or not.

Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
SmartCat7162 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
It would be sick if we got something like F.L.Y in The Vortex plot. Something like that would be unique especially the way things are going in the chain, but it might be too maintenance heavy. It wouldn’t have to be that intense maybe with one or two inversions it could be a good transition ride. -
Something you’d be excited about years ago but not now?
SmartCat7162 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in KI Polls
I get RMC is trying to break into another sector of the coaster industry by building family rides, but I feel like the market is already so over saturated. -
As a kid and even now I have only visited Soak City once. When I was visited I remember there being a Coke truck thing where you could get free drinks in small cups. Does anyone know what this was or can anyone share more about it? I remember thinking it was the best thing ever since my parents did not let me drink soda as a kid and I was so excited. If anyone has any pictures or has any information about it I would love to hear more about it.

Soak City 2025 Construction Updates

From the filings it appears that they are doing work on all of the restrooms that I know about in Soak City. The coconut cove restroom, the entry restroom, wave pool, and the bath house. Which will be nice. -
I would agree since it is a franchise and is owned by the park I’m pretty sure

I understand the date though since the original day was already taken.
