Non-Networked FastPass machines at WDW
Avatar replied to Gabe's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I can not share my information with you on FastPass strategy on a open forum so I just sent you a PM. Have fun this weekend -
I went on Friday and really enjoyed the house very much. Some of the best theme I had seen and the setting is top notch. Friday was my first visit through and many in my group had been through last year and they said it had improved a lot. I was asked by some who inquired about which house I liked the most and I told them in my opinion Wolfpack was mine thus far. I think many want to be scared and in truth it is hard to do that to a certain degree to a vast majority of adults. Me I just look at the setting and atmosphere then worry about scaractors, I will add that I thought Wolfpack intrigued me with its theme. I hope you all just stay true to the atmosphere and not get too worked up on cheep scares. Anticipation to me is what spooks me. Keep up the great work hope to see you again

OK chalk this one up to a newbie to the news feed area postings. The only way to fix it was to move that post to a second post but that would mess up posting order so I opted to just move this whole thread to the Trip Report section. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Now to write a news feed article text only of course.

thanks jcgoble working on it also the pictures are a bit to big for the RSS feed according to Dane so I am working to downsize the pictures first then if the videos need to be removed I will, but add them to the picture section.

looking into it. Thanks

Kings Island Halloween Haunt Opened September 23, 2011
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Trip Reports
I enjoy atmosphere and it doesn't always need to be scary. I enjoyed the area and the feedback I have gotten so far indicates many others do as well. I predict when Kings Island works out the kinks and makes adjustments to the area that it will be a favorite amongst guests. The International Street was a fun area to go to hang out and watch the scareactors at work. The thing about the fear zones is that you can mill around or just watch the area in action versus walking through a house. Great to see you enjoying yourself. -
About Mysteria If i was to rate the the houses Mysteria would be low on my own personal list. Have said that in my opinion it would not be due to the scareactors in the house as they seemed to really be trying to do a good job. The lights were great but it does need more.

Kings Island Halloween Haunt Opened September 23, 2011

It was very very easy with the green light spider signs we had no trouble finding the entrances for the Fright Lane. The only one that we had trouble finding was "Cut Throat Cove" the regular entrance is by Viking Fury entrance and the Fright Lane entrance for that one is by Outer Hanks. If you are going to just hang out at the park then you will be OK going through at your own pace but it probably would take two visits to see everything. I suggest the Fright Lane fro two big reason in two situations. first is if you are only making one trip to Halloween Haunt per year then I would not hesitate in recommending the Fright Lane for a more enjoyable experience. Second, by using the Fright Lane pass last night it made me realize we were able to go from house to house in a relatively short amount of time between houses and that kept us in a great mindset versus a long break between houses. We started touring right at 7PM and was able to get everything done using the Fright Lane and we rode 5 rides in that time. Granted we took the time to go up front to see scareactors, look through shops and take pictures along the way. May I suggest one more thing. It seems some get over critical on specifics of the event (which is OK) but I suggest that everyone should go in approaching the experience as a evening of entertainment, there is so much to experience and explore and honestly I feel we will have a much better time if we leave most of our critic side in the car. If we can do this I believe most everyone of us will have a great evening. Now when we get back into our cars well that is the time to let the critic side creep back in. Have fun!!! -

I wished you as many did in other areas. I honestly enjoyed everything we did fun night and it seemed to me most of the workers were enjoying themselves. First night is usually Media Night and they normally get lanyard to gain quick access so they can experience parts of the event then report. I enjoyed the area very well and I heard from many KI representatives that more is to be added to that area as haunt continues. If you have an idea about the area suggest it, last night was just the first night and there is usually a learning curve on what works well. Have fun it makes the night go faster.

I am working on my update with pictures and videos but could not help to get drawn in here. I had 5 members in a group I was with most the evening at the end of the night I asked what everyone's favorite house was. Surprising no two people agreed on a single favorite and some favorites were others worst and we toured together. I guess what I would like to say we should not advise guest to stay away from certain houses as we may be leading away from something they would really enjoy. I absolutely loved the Holiday Horror Maze last night while others in the group expressed similar remarks that could be found in this thread. The reason I really liked Holiday Horror is because it was themed well and was not like the other houses which to me started to be a repeat with different theme, with the scareactors just screaming at you from around the corner. Holiday Horror as you proceed through the maze you had to think a bit as what holiday you where in and the scareactors said/yelled things that related to that holiday. It was funny cleaver and original to me. I got so used to following a path in the dark like others houses that it was a nice break to have to follow a story line as I went through. To me I see Holiday Horror night getting better and better from its first night ever and I highly suggest everyone go into it with a different mindset to get the most out of it.

Well if it is not about the money then I would suggest Great Wolf Lodge then you could park for free in their lot as a guest and walk over to Kings Island. That walk is an easy wall and even can be done in the dead of winter with a ice packed covered lot, well below zero with the wind in your face. Oh the wonderful memories of Kings Island. I hope what ever you decide that you and the family make great memories from your trip too.

It does just not for this year...next year go as often as you care too.

Dinosaurs Alive! Next Stop Dorney Park 2012
Avatar replied to Leland Wykoff's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
OK then my words. Every-time I have talked to someone from Kings Island they are very proud and pleased with how Dinosaur Alive has been going for them. They seem to have taken great pride of its success and they are not about to let it fade away but rather look for ways to improve it and to generate more interest opportunities. Knowing the pride they have for it I look forward to seeing what they come up with to make it better, I have absolutely no doubt they will. none.- 17 replies

AVATAR Is Going To Animal Kingdom
Avatar replied to Avatar's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
OK have had some time to think about AVATAR going into Animal Kingdom and from quotes many of you picked up on, I would like to throw out a few speculative ideas. Some ask "Why Animal Kingdom" well Animal Kingdom has a tree of life with a very old 3d movie still playing, those who have done it know it is very interactive with props and guest seat surprises. I think AVATAR can use the existing tree of life and incorporate it into the Mayan Tree of Life which is a huge sacred tree to the Mayas Na"vi people which is a big focus of the AVATAR movie. The animals are carved into the tree already to incorporate that tie in. They can use the inside of the tree and revamp it to make it a unique AVATAR interactive 4D movie experience. Do not know but I could see this happening. Well those who may have thought they might be getting a Avatar trip report when clicking this thread well just know you will be very soon. This weekend is usually the start of our annual Fall Vacation but due to the schools later Fall break we decided to move our vacation to take place in December instead. I did start a trip report of our last years adventure which included many of the Orlando parks but did not finish it, well I have decided after reading RailRiders report to go ahead and finish it mine. I think there is some very unique experiences that can be shared and would be of some interest to some of you. Ryan there will be a test on the written portion of that report, so you have been officially warned. I have planned to do a trip report on Kings Island Haunt coming up on this Friday. I am dedicated to do that trip report one way or the other should be interesting to see what I cover there or not cover. Sounds like I better start the finger exercises, I wouldn't want to throw out a finger or two with all the typing in my forecast.
