Maybe you were there the following day after it happened because both incidents happened in the evening. See below, it gives a detailed description of what happened including approximate times. Yes it was definitely the day after. I did say that in my post but it's all good! I can see how it could have been misread.

What happened to SkyLab?? That was one of my favorites and I was very disappointed to find out it was gone...

I was at the park the day after the three people died all in one day. I remember my mom waking me up early in the morning and telling me what happened...asking if I still wanted to go. At that age, King's Island was one of the things I looked forward to most in life, so of course I still wanted to go! Anyway, I remember there being a lot of news crews there that day. The pond where the 2 people were electrocuted was the one where the Viking Fury ride was (is? I haven't been in a while...). They had that whole area blocked off. I have to admit, it was kinda creepy there that day.

I probably won't be back home to my parents house (they are in Lexington, I'm down in Atlanta) for another couple months, but as soon as I go I will definitely hit the basement to start the search. I had the entire show on tape and am pretty sure the quality would still be good...as long as I can find it! I'll post back if I do. Thanks!

How bad is the sound? Really bad? I'll probably keep looking at my parents place because I know that if I still have it, it would be a pretty good copy. I can't imagine that I would have taped over it, but you never know. If I can't find it, I'll get back to ya! Yeah, that part at the beginning when there are a bunch of girls laying in their bikini's and they say "Take me to the Island!"...several of those girls were friends of mine! I remember being so mad that I didn't get to do it, but I can't remember why now. I think I had a previous engagement, like cheerleading camp or something like that. Oh well. If I find it, I will let everyone know! Ashley

Hi everyone!! THis site is bringing back so many memories!! I would give anything to ride Smurfs Enchanted Voyage and Skylab just one more time!! Anyway, back in 1992 when I was 16 I was actually almost on the 20th Anniversary special (my modeling agency used a bunch of kids), and I recorded it when it aired, but can't find it anywhere!!! Does anyone have this on video? I'm going to keep searching my parents basement next time I go home, but with all the random things I used to tape back then...it could take a while to locate! Also any other videos of now defunct rides would be very cool! Thanks! Ashley
