I don't think it sounds too hard to believe. Considering there are 3 Italian Jobs, and Avatar and one Survivor - why wouldn't they buy another Survivor?
-
Thank you Boddah for settling that issue. I unfortunately never got to ride the Antique Cars - so I don't really miss them. And I loved the Flying Eagles - but realize they didn't have to come out. The site plans for IJST included the Flying Eagles. They were removed because Paramount Parks wanted to move it to Carowinds. So its not necessairly the old rides missing that bothers me about IJST. Its the fact that its not that good a ride. It is marketed strictly toward families, forsaking all others. And even then - alot of kids dont like it. I saw many kids at Troika who said they thought IJST was too scary, and others who said it was boring. More guests I talked to didn't like the ride than did - and were talking about family people. Now maybe thats because people who dn't like the ride are more apt to complain about it than people who enjoyed it are to run around exalting it. Who knows. I do think it is the type of ride my little sister would love to ride. But I really think that she would have more fun on Reptar or Express than IJST.

You don't like Ann Coulter?

Preview of Fearfest 2006..6..6..
TheKlockster replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
So they have one between Delirium Slingshot, one in the middle of Coney Mall and the one over in Rivertown. Is it possible to go anywhere in the park without having Fearfest stuff all around you? You at least used to be able to get back to Vortex by cutting through Action Zone, then walking down Coney Mall staying right up next to the games building. Well I guess as long as one leaves before 7pm it is possible to miss the Fearfest stuff. -

Oh grand they have one back by Vortex. -
Yeah I agree. Even when I am capable of using my gold pass to cut in line - I do not. I think it is rude. I think if they are going to do it - they should do it for everyone - like Disney - where you get a reservation ticket - since lines would reach 5+ hours without them. But giving one group of people an advantage is wrong. Getting unlimited admission to the park for the cost of visiting the park twice paying door admission I think is a good enough perk for the pass. They don't need the other stuff. Now the c0ckroach thing at Six Flags - I think that is kind of funny. If I was waiting in line, and someone cut in front of me - I would think - theres another idiot who ate a hissing c0ckroach - they deserve to cut in line. Believe me - alot of people say they will do it - but they'll change their minds when they get there.

No - but I am saying that is about 3.1 million US. That may have been for JUST the ride though - without theming. But what did Delirium cost? Like 12 million?
-
Yeah the tower is indeed the icon of the park. Although PKD has one as well - as does a Six Flags park in Texas. But for some reason - its the symbol of PKI. Does anyone know if the one in Las Vegas is built by Intamin AG like the others? I know its 1/2 scale where ours is 1/3.

Maybe Disaster Transport? Old Skool Intabobsled?
-
You ressurect an old topic to ask a question that makes no sense?

IJST was definately cheap. I have heard it cost about 3.5 million Canadian dollars - which isn't very much. Even if it cost more than that - it certainly didn't cost any more than Delirium or Tomb Raider - and no where near as much as Maverick. As for the thrill of IJST - that varies from person to person - but in my opinion - the IJST doesn't hold a candle to the 15 year old Adventure Express coaster.

Fine with me - I usually go up with my grandma, and park in handicapped parking - since she has one of those electric mobility vehicles.

Awesome photos as usual. Does that Fearfest bus refer to "Kings Island" without the Paramount's? 666 is just a number. And it is highly debated whether 666 is actually THE number or symbolic - ie numerology. There is a guy at my work who will not handle any product which has a UPC ending in 0666. I don't really get superstition. The reason I don't like Fearfest is I don't like being startled. Like I can come out of the break room and have someone jump out at me - and I will be really shaken up. I don't need to wait in line to walk through a highly themed and scary maze where people jump out and scream at me. Thats why I don't do Fearfest. If Elivira is back - I'll do that one. It was a pretty cool show. -
Is that like Laxy Town? Its a piece of cake to build a park on the lake. If the way is hazy you better do coasters by the book. You know you cant be lazy.

This year was not the year for LIM coasters. Chiller, Mr Freeze, Steel Venom, Volcano: The Blast Coaster and the Flights of Fear all had problems. I guess they're starting to learn that the best way to do launches is with the Intarocket system. -
What ever happened to leaving the moderating to the moderators? Current news is that there is no news. Son of Beast may or may not open next year. The news seems to think it may - while many have doubts.

I could see Kings Island as one of the last parks they would sell. I think PCW will be one of the first parks to go - regardless of whether they hold onto the others. Its in Canada, which makes it kind of tricky to run. Then I could potentially see them selling PGA and Geauga sometime in the near future. The only thing for certain - is that if they have to sell all of their other parks - the one they will hold onto is Cedar Point - America's Rockin Roller Coast.

what is the new ride for next season?
TheKlockster replied to rollerocasterfreak's topic in Coming Attractions
I hope we get that Volare we have all been hoping for for some time. -
Aren't they requring presentation of the dry run tickets in order to participate in the haunted attractions? I thought they did that last year. I still have my Fearfest dry run tickets - I put them in my scrap book since I hate halloween.

What else do you think needs refurbished at PKI?
TheKlockster replied to adam47303's topic in Kings Island
Ah very true. The good old high-and-tight. I remember back in the day when alot of people wore those - and New Kids on the Block was the hot new band. -
You mean... C'mon get happy!
-
About two billion - the same as Six Flags.
-
I hope it is. I hate being tossed around from company to company. The park never gets any stability - and it seems like nobody wants it.

Wow... Just wow... I really meant more like an abe lincoln stove pipe hat look. Until I saw the part where mike, peter and greg were at the booth where they were breaking the plates on the episode where they were at Kings Island in the fifth season of the series if you paid close enough attention to the trees in the background. You would know what I am talking about. Yeah I know what you're talking about - but the way you put it was priceless.
