Unbelievably, there are coasters at other places besides PKI and Holiday World... Thunder Road is way cooler than Racer, because it occupies two states.

I love Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. It was my home park at one time... I miss it.

Hmmm... Most interesting. I believe I know the cause. It is a über-l337 computer virus created by Holiday World for the sole purpose of brainwashing PKI Fanboys to stop liking The Beast and Son of Beast, so that they would be torn down, giving Holiday World the record for worlds longest wooden roller coaster. It has no effect on the other two sites mentioned above as their members are either hard core ACErs or ultra-quadruple-platinum PKI fanatics - and are immune to brainwashing attempts.

Yeah I am sure that family from California decided not to come to PKI because they heard that IJST was poorly themed... I know it stabs any fanboy to their very core to see their home park fall behind... But life goes on. In the mean time we can focus on more important things, like studying the migratory patterns of African swallows. Or to keep it PKI related, we could talk about how adding Cedars of Lebanon around the Boomerang Bay parking lot might cause Boomerang Bay to beat out Schlitterbahn next year.

And I never look at the main site - just the forums - and I use the default Invision Powerboard Skin.

Voyage looks good - but I will laugh if it ends up being highly overrated...

I bet if we got the Flying Eagles back, and put in a real roller coaster - attendance would go up.

Voyage will be pretty decent - but the real star of next year will be Avatar!

I think Vortex should just have seat belts - like 5 point harnesses. That would be badass. I don't think that Vortex is rough at all. For those of you that think it is rough - did you ever think that maybe Vortex just doesn't like you??? Maybe you hurt her feelings.

I just saw a commercial on TV for Winterfest - and it referred to the park as Kings Island - not Paramount's Kings Island, as they usually do. Back when they did that survey about CBS buying the park, they asked what people thought would be the best thing to call it. Do you think this is the beginning of the end of Paramount's Kings Island, and the dawn of just Kings Island?

For 2006 I would like to see more cowbell.

Orange 5 is the ultimate Troika experience this side of Bremen Germany! Anywhere on the orange arm is awesome - but I always took 5. It was a totally arbitrary number I chose one day when I was test riding it during my break.

Yeah I still have you totally owned... The people who have seen the pictures can vouch for me. They totally beat anything an ACEr or fanboy could take. Oh and Orange 5 is better than Orange 2.

Avatar was said it was going to be a coaster. Legend Rider is with the rest of the ACErs in the opinion that Avatar is going to be a coaster like flat ride. But Legend Rider doesn't know what he is talking about - just repeating rumors he has heard. Maybe some true info did get leaked out. Maybe it is a Disko. Who knows. But until it is announced for sure, people should STFU and stop propegating this rumor.

In response to both Wooferbear and Coasterguy - the reason I cannot post my pictures is that they were taken up close. Those Beastbuzz photos were taken from like 100 feet away or more. Mine were taken from a distance of as close as 3 feet... Not sure the park wants people to see that - cause if they did they would have it on display in the middle of the park. But yeah - my photos totally OWN any of the KC track photos on PKICentral, as they were taken from extremely close proximity to the track.

People! It isn't that bad! There are only a couple pieces out behind Son of Beast - most of the track is at the fireworks launch pad. I'd show you a photo - but don't think I would be allowed to post it. Some other people who have seen the photos agree that it is still in pretty good shape - just needs a little work. It isn't like its got holes rusting in it or anything... It could still open somewhere - but with Togo being out of business, it would be hard to find other parts for it.

Yes the Platen is that long bar that moves up and down that pushes in the restraint release pins on the bottom of the cars.

But air has nothing to do with why they can't open below 50 degrees... That is what I was saying. Also - the gates are air powered too.
