  1. Hopefully this will work out, but its not set in stone yet! In my coaster tour vacation: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Universal Studios Florida Islands of Adventure Kennedy Space Center Paramount's Carowinds Dollywood Regular and day trip parks: Paramount's Kings Island of course Holiday World Cedar Point (and maybe Geauga Lake and/or Paramount's Canada's Wonderland along with it) Strickers Grove Possibly, but doubtful, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom So I am looking to hit 10 parks. Possibly 13. I am going to bring up my coaster count!
  2. I would like them to show sneak previews for movies, like they did with Without a Paddle at the end of the season. Do they do that anyway? I didn't get my pass till end of Aug, so I wasn't there most of the season.
  3. Do they do the backstage tour of Beast and SOB? That is the only thing I am really interested in. As Survivor is teaching me - I would be no good at a scavenger hunt or anything.
  4. I have never seen Lord of the Rings at all. Any of them... I heard somewhere that The Beast was originally slated to be called the Champion. Oh God... I am glad they went with Beast...
  5. I like SOB in the rain! Yeah, this weather is so bizarre. Its January! It should be like 0 degrees, and two feet of snow on the ground. But instead - the ground is saturated with rain, and it shows no sign of letting up. I hope they don't cancel the construction tour.
  6. Could you imagine SOB at 900 feet? That would be extreme! And fun!
  7. Why would PKI instal a webcam when they could not install a webcam? I will be going. But I hope its dry. Accroding to channel 22, on Time Warner Cable (local weather), it will be in the lower to mid fifties. But it does look like rain most of the week. We're going to need snowshoes to get around the mud! But I will be there no matter what...
  8. Well, yeah - I guess it doesn't have to be a giga coaster. Just a regular full circuit, chain lift or elevator powered coaster. I don't think that we will get the impulse coaster because it is too much like Face/Off. And as far as a rocket coaster - you can pretty much rule out one like Dragster. If we got one, it would be more like Storm Runner or Xcelerator. And if you compare those two to Flight of Fear - they are similar. They both launch riders at high speed into a full circuit roller coaster. I don't think that PKI will want three launch coasters in their park. I mean IJST does launch, but its a little different. I would thing that a Storm Runner type rocket coaster would be a lot like FoF. I'm just saying that the same reason we wont get a rocket coaster is the same reason we wont get a topple tower, or a power tower - they are similar to drop zone.
  9. Thats probably why this year we see rides like The Italian Job Stunt Track and Revenge of the Mummy and Curse of the DarKastle. That is four major theme parks that aren't trying to break records or anything. But the theming on these rides will be awesome. Of course some parks are setting records. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay and Six Flags Great Adventure are setting new records. But I don't think we will ever see anything along these lines. Just about the only Intamin coaster we could get is a giga coaster. Their LIM Impulse Coaster provides an experience too much like Face/Off. And a Rocket Coaster would be too much like FOF. So the only Intamin not like something we already have is the giga coaster. As far as the B&M, I don't think we will get one unless it replaces Vortex or Top Gun. I could see Top Gun getting replace with a B&M Invert.
  10. It's not 3 million. There is a used portable Topspin on ITAL and I think it is like $750,000. For a giant topspin, themed like TRTR - I would say closer to 10. It can't be 40. Top Thrill Dragster was only 15.
  11. They cost a lot! Vortex cost $4 million. I have heard several values from SOB. Some say $15 million, and others say $25 million. I know that PKI spent $40 million for the simultaneous installation of Drop Zone and Face/Off. And I would bet the biggest portion of that was for Drop Zone.
  12. Son of Beast would become - Chariot of the Gods Face/Off would become - , also known as "the ride formerly known as Face/Off" Vortex would be - Ride of the Valkyries Flight of Fear would be - Thor's Hammer Beast would be - Odin's Revenge Rugrat's Runaway Reptar would be - Loki: the Trickster coaster Viking Fury would be - Viking Fury (after all, it would be a Viking themed park)
  13. Or Maybe they have a Jump2 planned. Or maybe the Jump2 at Canada's Wonderland already fulfilled the contract.
  14. http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=218 Check out this link. It either IS Americana's old pirate ship or one like it. And its only 95,000 bucks! They also have a Vekoma Invertigo for sale for only 1.75 million Euro. But chances are, theres something wrong with it if its that cheap.
  15. Yes - they have a regular Topspin. Ours is the Giant Topspin. I think we will have to wait and see how this one turns out. Sure - it proably will be seriously less on thrills than our Tomb Raider. But Topspins can still be cool. Look at Ripsaw at Alton Towers! On TRTR at PKI - you MIGHT get a little spritz. On Ripsaw - its the equivalent of putting your face in front of a fire hydrant, and pulling off the cap. You WILL get soaked - no matter where you sit. So regular Topspins (the Gravitron in RCT) would probably still be cool. I think we're all spoiled by having the biggest and most thrilling Topspin in the world!
  16. For me, it depends on whether or not I am working there. If I am working there, I will be obviously working there! I would hopefully be working on: 1-Delirium, 2-Vortex, 3-Tomb Raider - but this list is subject to change without notification! For what I would do if I was working a closing shift, please see below. As a guest: Son of Beast! Of course, if I am with a group, or some friends, it would be different, unless they were as crazy as me. But if alone - its definately Son of Beast!
  17. A tear jerker is when you ride a ride and your eyes water and the tears are running on the side of your face. Oh. I have done that before. Not cause I was scared or anything - they just water up. It was on Beast. And when I got back to the station, people thought I was crying. I know that my eyes always water up after the drop on Vortex - when you go up that hill and get airtime. Like my eyes are fine till there, and soon as I hit that airtime spot - my eyes water up instantly. Don't know why, but it always happens.
  18. I zoomed in - and it looks like it is already painted and everything. It looks all rusty and everything - but I guess thats part of the theming. There are plenty of Topspins out there that are open. Granted, the theming on ours is cool. Plus being indoors and having the one and only Giant Topspin is a plus. But seriously - do you think it will suck if it is not up to par with the theming on PKI's version? I mean a Topspin is an excellent ride - even if it was just painted gray, and sitting in the middle of a non themed baseball diamond.
  19. The fog was there during this Fearfest. I went every day. And I don't remember it ever not being there. It made visibility low - which I didn't like because I never knew where the sliders were. I tried to avoid them. In fact - all through Fearfest - I was never startled by one. But I know the fog was there - because on one ride on SOB, the fog could be seen at the bottom of the first helix. It was like a bowl - and the bottom half of the helix was under the fog. So you would dip in and out of this haze. It was really cool!
  20. Ok - I'm not even going to start! I personally prefer Quicktime. But it seems that WMP or more accepted. I even have WMP on my iBook! Here is an idea. Can you possibly render two versions - a high quality and a low quality? Make the low quality really small - so its easily downloable for dialuppers, and a high quality version big so that broadband users can get the better quality. I think that would please everybody the best. I mean - its not like bandwith or storage is in short supply for you guys! Edit: Sorry - I didn't see the second page. Looks like someone beat me to it! But I seriously think this is the best option.
  21. But how do I get into the parking lot? The main lot is closed right? Don't we have to enter from the employee parking lot? Well, I'll be there. I look forward to seeing you there!
  22. Quicktime is much better than WMP. WMP is a sub par excuse for a video program. Quicktime is MUCH more powerful. But this is typical. Look at Windows Movie Maker. It is a cheap and poorly disguised copy of Apple's iMovie. But don't get me started on Microsoft... I download the files at school, and save them on my tumb drive. So its no big deal for me either way.
  23. Quicktime MPEG4. I know it can stream very well. If you used Quicktime streaming, with MPEG4, it would be great. I think Windows Media Player can open it as well. Its a standard format.
