Most hotels in the country have such a rule. You should be careful in any instance. I mean, if you subdue the criminal and hold him down with a gun and then the police rush in and they see someone with a gun holding it over someone...guess who get's shot? Not the criminal. The person holding the gun. UC's policy is to hide. Get to a room that will lock. If that is not your room, find one. If the intruder is in your room plead with him.
