  1. KI does offer free water at food booths with fountain machines.
  2. I know the black line you speak of, it's just only visible to me about half the time when I ride. I have found I do see them more when I sit near the front, but not when I ride near the back (in general).
  3. Half of the times i've ridden there is no black line. It's either faded or gone or something...
  4. Is it 3 clicks or 2? Because I can only get 2 clicks in any seat on DB and have always been fine...
  5. (From Merriam-Webster): Roller Coaster: 1: an elevated railway (as in an amusement park) constructed with sharp curves and steep inclines on which cars roll 2: something resembling a roller coaster ; especially : behavior, events, or experiences characterized by sudden and extreme changes <an emotional roller coaster> Coast: 2 a: to slide, run, or glide downhill by the force of gravity b: to move along without or as if without further application of propulsive power (as by momentum or gravity) c: to proceed easily without special application of effort or concern <coasted through school> —often used with on<a company coasting on its good reputation> I guess technically it could fit the second definition of Roller Coaster but it doesn't roll on anything and that second definition isn't really about tangible objects. It does sort of fit the definition of coasting so, is it a "coaster", IE does it coast, yes; is it a"Roller Coaster"? IMO no.
  6. If and when you go to BB make absolutely sure you have a swimsuit with no rivets, zippers, buttons, metal etc on the back or sides if you plan on riding any body slides. I have swim trunks with 2 little rivets in each cargo pocket and on my last trip at all the body slides the lifeguard wouldn't let me go down. There is a sign at the bottom of the stairs on slides this applies too. Sometimes you will get a guard that doesn't care and will let you go, but that has been rare for me.
  7. Hey all. Welcome to my first TR of the season. I went to KI today for the first time this season after being to CP twice this summer on vacation and with my schedule keeping me from coming any earlier I was desperately ready to go to my home park. My girlfriend and I arrived at 9:30 and went to ERT using our Platinum Passes. We rode Diamondback twice as a walk on in rows 3 and 4. We then went over to The Beast and rode it twice also as a walk on somewhere in the middle both times. At this time we were all ready burning up so we stopped and got some water and headed to BLSC. It was 9:50ish and they were already running, we walked on 3rd row and it was rather dissapointing in that there was none of the themeing operating. After BLSC we went to Vortex and walked on in the last row. This was a really good ride today, smoother than I remember, and it really helped to cool us off from the humidity and heat already in the air. We then went to The Racers and rode front seat red train with a 1 train wait. They were only running only the red train and the blue track was actually being worked on at the first airtime hill. Let me say though that the crew at The Racers was very unenthusiastic, which I guess could be because it was only 10:15. We then stopped and had "breakfast" at the Coney Mall, I had a BBQ Ham panini which was actually very good, despite definitely not being breakfast food. It was around 11 now after eating and failing miserably at some games so we decided to go to X-Base. After getting a locker, which are a GREAT deal at $.75 compared to the $2 at CP, we rode FOF with a 20min wait. We then went over to Firehawk which was a 25min wait and was put in the 3rd car, yellow train. I was sorely missing this coaster and it didn't disappoint. It was a little past noon now and we headed over to Action Zone. On the way we rode AE and it wasn't bad (especially compared to the awful Mine Ride at CP), we rode last seat 2nd train and were distracted the entire ride by two girls in front of us who kept texting and taking photos with their phones throughout the ride (sadly they didn't lose them though I secretly wished they had...). We then rode Delirium after a 20min wait, I must say I like MaXair at CP better as the cycle is longer and it gives better airtime in my opinion. My GF is terrified by Drop Tower so we skipped it as well as Invertigo as it had a nearly full queue which we decided to skip due to the incessant heat. After discussing SOB and it's closure (and maybe shedding a tear...) we rode Flight Deck in the front row, no wait. No matter what people say I think the ride is still great and I would be sad if it got removed. It was awesome today as there was a kid riding his first roller coaster ever in the seat behind us and he loved it! It was around 1:30 and we decided to go to Boomerang Bay and cool off. On the way we stopped in NickU for some blueberry soft serve and a ride on Avatar. We then took the train from Rivertown and arrived at BB to see where the crowds had been all day. It was packed! We decided to spend some time in Great Barrier Reef, which was crowded but not awfully so, especially near the deeper end. We spent plenty of time in there and then went to Crocodile Run to see that the line for it was wrapped all the way around it... So we decided to skip it and went to Snowy River Rampage. It had a 45min wait which we we waited and rode. It's a good slide, but the wait was pretty long for what it is. It was 3:15 now and we decided to leave BB and go back to the main park. We rode the train back and went over to DB to find it only had a 15min wait. We rode it in the tenth row (which some say is a tighter fit, but me with a 40in waist, found it no tighter than the other rows I had ridden in. We then went to The Beast and rode it in the front row with only a 15min wait. It was about 4 so we went and watched the 80's show at Showplace and it was very enjoyable. After the show the heat was just so unbearable we decided to leave the park and on the way back stopped at City Barbecue. So there it is, my first TR ever and of this season. Today was the first time I have ridden DB and I must say it is a good coaster. I found it got better the further we went back on the train, so next time I must try it in the last row. There is some good airtime, but sadly I found myself comparing it too much to Mille and Maggie at CP which lessened my enjoyment of the coaster but it was still good nonetheless. I also found that The Beast was a little more trimmed than last year which made it a little less enjoyable also, but it is still 10x better than Mean Streak at CP in my opinion. We are going back this Wednesday and plan on staying for the Fireworks and I also want to see the Don't Stop the Music show. Thanks for reading!
  8. Hey all, I've searched and can't find the answer. I have a Platinum Pass that I purchased at CP, I know that KI Platinum Passes get gold pass benefits but I was wondering if my CP one would as well. I figure that a Platinum Pass is a Platinum Pass but I can't find a concrete answer on their websites so I'd figure Id ask here. Thanks! -Logan
  9. Off topic: Monroe: Nothing like a little dihydrogen monoxide. (even though if your not using H2O you should use HOH as hydrogen hydroxide, but...) (I think) http://www.dhmo.org/truth/Dihydrogen-Monoxide.html Now, back on topic. EDIT: forgot about oxyhydrogen. lol Nevermind, but visit the link. Its all true!
  10. Last I was there (june 5th) the Boomerang Bay Lockers were $12. With a returnable $5 deposit making you fork over $7 in the end. You do get unlimited access, but they are also rather small, a half-full backpack wouldnt fit in one with shoes and a towel as well.
  11. The Disney Land thing got me thinking that KI needs more of a presence on google maps. So, its summer and I have a lot of free time so using Google Maps and Google Sketch-Up I am going to try and create KI in google maps. So, I need images of buildings in ki and of the areas and everything. Stores, stands, restaurants, ride buildings, cues. Anything with detail. If you have any images at all of anything like this in KI please post them here or send them to appleadaydj@yahoo.com I will of course be using the galleries here also. I promise not to use any images except for use in this project. I will also post updates in this thread of my work. Please PM me or post here with questions. If anyone knows about sketchup and would like to help, please let me know. The first thing I will model is the parking lot sign and then work my way through. I'm gonna try my best to make this as realistic as possible, but it wont be anywhere near exact or perfect, yet. -Logan
  12. I'm part of that younger generation (16) and don't find it at all neccessary. Even in the actual park. I definitely find it amusing that some people can't amuse themselves. I wouldnt fathom bringing my ipod or psp (another gaming device) to ki, the most expensive thing I bring is my phone and my money.
  13. I would guess a Nintendo DS gaming system
  14. that would be going clockwise throu the park, wouldn't it? lol. Sorry, I go Clockwise through the park. lol
  15. I generally go clockwise counterclockwise through the park, with emphasis on rollercoasters (very few flat rides). I start at Action Zone with Delirium and Drop Tower. Then ride Invertigo and SOB. Sometimes (like yesterdays visit) I ride skycoaster if its on special pricing. I then ride flight deck. After that I go and ride Adventure Express and go to coney mall. play a game or two, ride the zephyr and monster and ride The Racers. Then I eat subway and head to FOF and Firehawk. After those few hours on those 2 rides I head to BLSC and Vortex. Then its about dinner and head to wings or whatever I feel like. I then go to boomerang bay for an 1hour+ and ride the lazy river and swim a little in the wave pool. I then go around and re-ride somethings and at about 9:45 get inline for The Beast and do the whole night ride thing.
  16. As of yesterday lockers are $12. But $5 of it is a deposit that you get back, os they are really $7.
