  1. You forgot about the part where we went from MF straight to Magnum and I was flicking dead bugs off my arms at our friends on the 2009 Magnum crew while we were waiting for our train to dispatch. In 2007, on one of my first rides on TTD, I had a bug slap me in the back of the mouth as we launched. I came off the ride gagging. I thought I was going to hurl. I've pretty much gotten used to snacking on bugs at CP. As far as official number of bugs swallowed, I can't say. Anyone who attended CoasterMania! 2009 has indefinitely lost count of how many bugs were ingested!
  2. Your photos, even without words, made me feel like I was there. You did a fantastic job.. I can't decide which pic I love most.
  3. Look on the bright side, guys. At least it isn't DB that's closed for the season. We still have that, and so many of our other favorite rides. Not to mention, we have each other. I know that sounds sappy and cliche, but it's true. I'm a member of a CP forum that doesn't have a fourth of the friendship level that we have here on KIC.
  4. I'd have to take the REALLY long way home. I live 63 miles from KI.
  5. This skyline looks pretty good to me right now too. nom
  6. Oh wow.. I miss seeing that so much. It is always nice to have my worries evaporating as I realize I'm at my beloved home park. I can almost hear Invertigo now (the loud hum with the the KA-KRAK with screaming shortly following it) as I walk toward the entrance. I miss KI so much and everyone I've met there. Thank you for that photo.
  7. The first I305 train tested on my birthday! NICE! And how fitting for me, given my username!
  8. no! no regret on the polls! i miss taking them. so i say make more! :)

  9. Those of you who claim the longest wait on opening day was 2+ hours seem to be forgetting this: If that's a 2 hour wait, I'd hate to see what a 4 hour wait looks like. Anyway, I've decided that DB will definitely be my first ride. It looks as if many of you from KIC are going to hit DB first. Do I sense a KIC DB meetup for our first ride of the season?
  10. my theories have more holes in them than generic swiss cheese.

  11. That is the cutest thing I've read on here in a long time. I'm excited for you and your kiddos.
  12. Millie is dear to my heart. It was my reason for my first visit to Cedar Point, the first coaster I ever rode at Cedar Point, and the coaster that destroyed my paralyzing fear of heights (I used to be the one cussing and crying in fear on Drop Tower.. no joke!). Plus, the first friend I ever met at Cedar Point LOVED Millie so we always rode it together, and have a ritual of last ride on it when we hang out. But the more coasters I ride, the more I realize I like coasters that pack a wallop. I like being thrown upside down, flung to the side, and ejected into my restraint. I have bitten my tongue from saying this for so long, but I came to realize last year why Millie has been dubbed Millennium Forceless as compared to so many other coasters. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the first drop and the speed, and I will definitely still ride it, but not for a thrill. It's more relaxing than it is thrilling.. to me it has become the porch swing of the roller coaster world, and that isn't always a bad thing.. Millie is tall enough to be intimidating, yet its layout is smooth enough that people of all ages can enjoy it. It's a crowd pleaser, and a good one. I refuse to change my username though, as so many people know me by that, and Millie still has a place in my heart as my first coaster ever at Cedar Point, and one that opened up my eyes to a wide open new world without fear of heights.
  13. i'm giga aka angie. i love coasters, music, being goofy, and i drink a lot of caffeine. XD

  14. I'm not sure what defines exhilaration! Most coasters for me are like a stress release. I love the sounds, the way they ride, everything about them. I could be feeling sick or having the worst day ever, and the instant I hit a steep first drop or a large airtime hill, my problems and all of my stress just vaporize, any headache or stomach ache goes away instantly, and I feel like I've landed on cloud 9 as long as I'm on that coaster. I'm the one with an ear to ear grin on her face, I've even found myself laughing and screaming with delight as I ride. I come off skipping and dancing on some of them with a smile, and usually run back for another ride. I love coasters THAT much. The coasters that usually give me the best feeling like this are: Kings Island: Diamondback, Racer Holiday World: Voyage Cedar Point: Magnum XL-200, Maverick, Blue Streak, Raptor Six Flags St Louis: Evel Knievel, Mr Freeze Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom: Greezed Lightnin
  15. Kat, when you ride it, please tell us if it rides just like the original or not. And please also let us know where we can make donations to the efforts to rebuild this coaster. I remember hearing you talk last summer about how great this coaster was, and based on our mutual love for wooden coasters, I can't imagine how excited you were to know it is being saved.
  16. You make an absolutely excellent point. Tom and I have decided to purchase and process our passes at Kings Island on April 1, and then head down to KD. I am extremely wary of the way KD is handling things.. not just with pass processing, but with this tailgate party that just seems like disaster waiting to happen. We have also decided that we may not head to I305 first if the line is outrageous.. if it's anything like KI opening day, the line won't be as bad later on in the day (then again, from what I've noticed, it seems that B&Ms have far better capacity than Intamins). I'm trying to plan some things, and trying to play other things by ear. I've never singlehandedly planned this large of a trip before, and I'm really not sure what to do right now. I feel like I'm shooting in the dark.
  17. I can't believe I didn't mention this. I am excited to announce that July 12 will be the 1 year anniversary for Tom and I. Yes, I mean Tom76257. I'm sure several of you already know or have picked up on that, haha. We wouldn't had met had it not been for KIC.. and yes, I am very happy.
  18. You mean like this? It stormed for a good 45 minutes to an hour that day. The best part about that is watching 2/3 of the park run for the exit.. the park was DEAD when the sun came out around 5 pm. I got 6 rides on Millie in 1 hour. I usually try to keep an eye on my radar on my cell phone, and I'll usually duck into a gift shop and browse while the storm rages and more and more people leave.
  19. I can not wait to ride that again! One of my favorite woodies.. so underrated, and SO much air!
  20. I forgot to mention HoliWood Nights 2010. If that event is anything like it was last year (save for the hailstorm and tornado warnings), those of you who have never been before are in for a real treat. It is totally worth every cent and totally worth every mile driven. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17963&hl if anyone would like to read the PTR I put together from last year.
  21. A-MEN!!!!!!!!!! I was driving through Dayton construction last week, and I hit a bump that went down a little. I actually got that momentary feeling in my stomach like when you go down a big drop. I literally screamed with delight, and had an ear to ear grin on my face for several seconds afterward! I was disappointed that there weren't more like it! Congratulations!
