  3. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun/blog/index.cfm
  4. I had one ride op push my lap bar down so hard that it cracked the sunglasses I had in my pocket. They just happened to be my Fossil sunglasses. A friend of mine had the touch screen on his cell phone cracked when a ride op did that to him.
  5. That first hill intimidates the living heck out of a lot of people, so that is why they staple. One night I rode very back seat on MF, left like 2 inches of space between myself and the bar, and gave my seatbelt a few inches of slack. My butt left the seat for 3 straight seconds on the first drop, and got some nice air on all three hills.. yes, even the bunny hill by the station. I highly suggest riding in the extreme rear seat, especially at night. Getting yanked over that first hill and through all the elements in the dark at 93 mph is an experience.
  6. It is mainly due to the fact that people staple themselves. Leave an inch or so of space between you and the lapbar, and don't yank the seatbelt so tightly that it cuts off your circulation. I have always gotten air on MF. Heck, I even get air on TTD's top hat because I DO NOT STAPLE MYSELF. Even so, there is more to a ride than airtime.
  7. Coming from the same person who said the first rider tees look cheap, I see. You must be a hard one to impress. The sign looks fantastic, I like it.
  8. All I have to say is that after riding DB, if it is comparable at all to MF, it will very definitely be on the top of my list of favorites. - Angie, who bolts for MF first 9 times out of 10 when she makes her 3 hour trips to CP
  9. I too am sorry that some people fail to understand that the website caters to a wide audience which includes people who prefer serious, educated, and understandable coaster discussion. It is amazing how some people will throw a tantrum instead of realizing that you are trying to help. My first posts were horrible: all lowercase, no punctuation. It didn't take long for me to notice that I was not getting a serious response to my posts, so I started typing properly because I want to stay here. I believe that proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation is a reflection on how well educated you are. It's even worse when people are educated but choose to type like "z0mg meleniem f0rc3 is t3h pwnz0r." No serious coaster enthusiast wants to come in here and read something that looks like a cat just walked across someone's keyboard. I say if you are serious enough about Kings Island to join this website, you should be serious enough to follow the rules and guidelines.
  10. Wow, I haven't checked this thread in a long time. The QUEUE is coming along nicely.
  11. LOL I'm the same way. I drank 4 beers and got right on Vortex and Drop Tower, and was fine. On a blazing hot day at CP, I drank 3 bottles of water in line for Raptor and was fine. My friend and I also stuffed ourselves at KI's Backyard BBQ last year, then hit BLSC, FOF, and Firehawk, then she got sick.. I was fine.
  12. Rain schmain, it's just water and it goes away eventually! Ain't nothin gonna stop this girl from visiting her beloved home park on its grand reopening day!
  13. Ugh.. I remember my first trip to Cedar Point. It was literally a downpour from here all the way to Sandusky for 4 straight hours. When we got there, there were people in raincoats leaving and telling us as we walked in not to waste our money.. it was raining that hard. I'll wait out whatever weather is thrown at us. I'm not missing opening day for anything.
  14. How will members here have a way of proving at the gate that they are a KIC member, much less a member before February 1, if they are not a member of any other approved coaster club?
  15. So it is safe to assume that since I am a member here (joined August 2008), an ACE member, and a 2009 platinum passholder, that I'm good to go?
  16. Great TR, Touchdown.. and yes, I did read all of it. I once relied on mapsonus.com.. never again. I got lost about 20 miles from where I should have been. Google Maps hasn't gotten me too lost, but when all else fails I just use the GPS on my cell phone.
  17. Several of my friends from Cedar Point are coming down too, and I haven't seen a few of them since CP closing day. That day was the day I missed my ritual last ride on MF with one of my best friends that works there, because my phone died. I lost two others in the crowd and never found them. It made for a very sad ending to my season. I'm looking forward to being reunited with my KI and CP people in 2 weeks (less than that, actually). This off season is dragging I tell you.
  18. I forgot to add that I am not a fan of the spinning carnival rides. Those tend to make me very nauseous.
  19. So my first visit is coming up at the end of next month. I'm definitely not missing out on Voyage and Pilgrims' Plunge, but how do Legend and Raven compare to each other? I don't want to hit Voyage first as I'm sure Legend and Raven will pale in comparison afterward. I've heard so many great things about this park, and I can't wait to go. For anyone who has been there, what would you suggest I do to make the most of my trip?
  20. I'll let you know what it's like in my amazing PTR.
  21. I agree with that. Two rides I have had panic attacks on are now two of my favorites. I disagree with the part about closing your eyes.. if you don't know what's going on, you may think you are higher than you actually are and be more scared. How do you know what is going on or isn't going on when you close your eyes? If you don't want to experience the ride, don't ride it.
  22. KI opening day Ride Warriors Weekend at KI Cedar Point opening day CoasterMania! at Cedar Point Holiwood Nights at Holiday World Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Coney Island Waldameer Beech Bend
  23. You're not the first one to mention that, now that I remember. I will have to try that seat.. I've walked on to maXair a few times and it was so dead that the ride ops told us pick any seat we wanted. I wonder if it's the same for Delirium?
